People say they are not but they seem like spec ops.. The shots of them being pulled up by the chopper is a special forces tactic. Are they not at that level or are they on like us rangers or marine raiders with parachutes This o particular unit in the legion ( the 2eme) I saw on Google were called chuteurs operationels Operational fallers . meaning they do things like falking at a particular altitude instead of falling out a plane like usual paratroopers do were they hook up and run up to the door and jump out. These guys jump out the back of the plane individually ? Can Any one help me out ?

Bullshit 1er RPIMa, 13e RDP, 4e RHFS, CPA 10 and 20, Commando Marine, 27th Mountain Infantry Brigade, 8th Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment, Commando Parachute Group etc... Are better than French foreign legion, French foreign legion represents only 10% of the French army.

Can you decide which regiment you want to join or does the legion decide. And if you are able to choose can you volunteer for CGP.

If you are top 10 you get a choice, but at the end of the day the legion sends you where they need you. 2 REP always needs people though. GCP has a pretty tough selection process so you'd need to have at least a couple of years and maybe a tour under your belt first but is achievable if you're focused.

GCP is a SF unit in French foreign legion right? I saw in video they use SF weapons SCAR,G36,HK416

+Simon Riley Yes, 30 best mens of the 2nd REP (The paratrooper regiment of the FFL) They are not considered as Special Force in the French army (the 1st RPIMA, the 13th RDP and the 4th RHFS are the regiments of the special forces brigade of the french army). But the french ask them to do a lot of "special force operations". They have their own guns (you can select the one you like) and equipment.
