    I have a question. Is it supposed to hurt when taking it out? It's my third day and it still hurts a lot when I try to take it out, the catch being being that it only hurts when i try to apply force on the bottom right part of jaw, and it doesn't even loosen up. I need help and my dentist just ignores my problem saying that I am too scared to take it off.

    let me answer what men are afraid to ask: which one is more comfortable when you are on the receiving end of oral. braces! they look frightening but they are on the outside surface of her teeth. you wont feel a thing. but with invisalign, you will definitely feel them, since they are on all sides of her teeth. just fyi. she can of course remove them. you're welcome!

    Invisalign caused me to get a posterior open bite. 8 years later I'm in traditional braces because my bite is really messed up and front teeth now hit bottom teeth. Yes I wore my retainer after treatment. It never was fit correctly in the first place. Lesson here is go to an orthodontist not just a dentist trained in invisalign.

    What about torque direction on teeth. It's a completely different basis for shifting teeth for different applications.

  • @GluckOrthodontics
    @GluckOrthodontics2 ай бұрын

    Very good point. Torque can be a challenging movement to achieve with an aligners as opposed to brackets where it is designed into the bracket slot.

    Thanks so much for all the details. What does the patient do while waiting for the retainer? Do they stay in the tray they are in? That part is confusing to me. Thanks in advance for your explanation.

  • @GluckOrthodontics
    @GluckOrthodontics2 ай бұрын

    Great question. We will routinely order for passive aligners at the end of the active set. That basically means we get four duplicate aligners that are not moving teeth. These are for the patient to wear while they are waiting to get their retainers.

    I wish I would of known that it’s hard to take the trays out of your mouth. I wish I would of chosen braces. I feel like I’m going to have to be on a diet wearing these. They make your mouth just as sore as braces, because those plastic buttons rub on your mouth when you eat. One already came off the first day. And they hurt all around the edges. Plus they had to file all my front bottom teeth on the sides and now they look kind of skinny. I guess I’m stuck no going back paid too much money already. So this is a warning do your research before thinking oh trays that seems better than braces. Well no it’s not!

  • @GluckOrthodontics
    @GluckOrthodontics4 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the comment! And you make a great point. There are certainly some movements that can be more challenging with aligners - extrusion of incisors, root torquing, root tipping into extraction sites, etc. It can all be done but requires an expert provider and an awesome, diligent patient. Definitely worth reviewing with your orthodontist to see what's the best fit everyone's specific case. Have a great day!

    ok if youre struggling with grabbing it after you pop it out of one side then what im doing is instead of grabbing the aligner and pulling it out im doing the first part on the other side as well and then hooking my nail under the part on the back of my two front teeth and then pulling down again. idk if that helps for most but hopefully this helps someone.

    I usually advise patients to use a different tooth each time they take it out. I unfortunately took my top aligner out on the same molar everyday and now I have 1mm of recession and wear on the enamel. Try to avoid repetitive scratching/pulling on the same area. I also read how you can take a washcloth or paper towel and pinch from the outside and inside of your back molar and pull down. This avoids the need to use your abrasive finger nail.

    i got my braces off in april, and i now have a small crack/hole above my canine from grinding/clenching my teeth at night, in addition, the retainer shape has been made flatter, should i worry about it or am i ok to go?

  • @GluckOrthodontics
    @GluckOrthodontics4 ай бұрын

    Great question. Canines are a common place to get "show through" or holes in the retainers because they take a lot of the lateral forces from grinding at night. Have your orthodontist check it out and see if the integrity of the retainer is still in good shape. Good luck!

    Guys, I want you to calm down. I know what everyone is up to and now I'm on day 3 and I've found a way that doesn't exist anywhere, trust me! I know you are afraid that they will break - I promise they won't. I have quite a few attachments on my teeth and the method works with them too. First they gave up on the rear and then with the hook you pull SIDES and then DOWN to release the attachments attachments. That is it- if you first do it on the right, you pull with your right hand to the right and then down. With this metod, neither the attachments nor the aligners themselves will be damaged. BELIEVE ME!!! today I spent 20 minutes trying to remove them before I found this way and I was getting depressed. IT WORKS I PROMISE!!! if there is anything ask me :)

    I’ve had invisilign for 1.5 years and when they fixed my spacing, my bite would get thrown off. When they fixed my bite, my spacing would get thrown off. Went into traditional braces for 2.5 yearsish. They gave me invisilign retainers and my teeth started spacing after wearing them day and night with the exception of eating. I was so angry after the ortho insisted that they are better than Hawley retainer. They did not understand why. I recommend traditional. Metal is better than plastic. I feel that for bite issues, people shouldn’t be recommended plastic invisilign.

    But what is best for mandibular advancement class 2? My children need it and I’m torn between invisalign and braces…. What is best? I’m not prioritizing cost at all. I’m prioritizing effectiveness. If i knew both were just as effective I’d choose invisalign for them in a second! But does it work well for jaw advancement? I myself had invisalign and it worked really well EXCEPT two of my molars didn’t rotate as planned! It’s not a big big deal but in my case it seems that invisalign wasn’t as effective as braces would have been for molar roation…. So that is why I’m beginning to wonder if invisalign is good for most things but maybe not the best option for more complicated issues…. So the question is if jaw advancement is too complicated for invisalign? Could someone please help me by sharing their personal and/or professional opinions? Thank you so much in advance!!!!!!!
