We have installed these lights in our library and every light fixture was off the ceiling from one side. Some are 3/4” and most are over 1/4”. Do you have that issue. The contractor was saying the ceiling was soft. It wasn't.

Note: the metal plate can be off the electrical box. As long as the lamp covers the box it can be off a few inches. One could screw them to the nearest studs for example. Also, to remove the lamp, push up then slide length-wiser.

Wheres is the toggle switch, to change color light?
@djm5k10 ай бұрын
I have a 15” round version of this fixture in my closet. As far as color temperature is concerned, mine has a setting on toggle switch that allows you to change color temperature by turning fixture on and off quickly until you reach desired color temperature. The fixture will maintain that setting until you quickly turn on/off again to change color temperature. I also have mine on a dimmer switch. It’s a good idea to use a dimmer switch compatible with LED fixtures. Mine is a Lutron Triac dimmer made for incandescent, CFL and LED fixtures.

Step 1 of the instructions says to mount the plate but I can’t figure out how to get the plate unattached from the fixture. I know there has to be a simple trick to it but this video skipped right over the one thing I needed to know.

Quick update on my side. I still have not been able to remove the thing, but I was able to change the switch setting by pulling on the light corner where the switch is and moving the switch with my pinched finger. Not matter how hard I push to slide the lamp it still won't move. Hopefully it never goes bad, or I will have to brake it to remove it.

I will admit it’s a bit of a pain to lock into place. You have to push up on opposite edges and slide at the same time. Took me a few tries, but was able to get it latched. You can also widen a bit where the lamp latches onto the ceiling plate, that should help.

@nomonkeybusiness58023 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome! Not sure if it’s for the same reason, but I had a few gaps as well. My problems was the light wasn’t properly latched onto the base plate. I originally pushed up on the center of the light to slide and latch onto the base plate, but ended up with gaps on opposing sides. To fix it, it’s best if you push up on the opposing edges and slide. It took some effort, but light sits flush. If that doesn’t work, as long as the light is properly secured, command velcro strips seems like a good idea to close those gaps. Let me know if either of these work. Good luck!

Are you able to mount it offset? My situation my overhead cables come out of the ceiling off center from my table (above the end of the table). I was hoping to get a rectangular LED panel and mounting it on the far end with the other half pushed toward the center of the table.
@nomonkeybusiness58024 жыл бұрын
You could run your existing cables through a pocket at either end of the plate, since there is a small space between the plate and the LED panel for the wires. The majority of the panel will sit above the desk, but it would still be off center. A few things to consider: 1. Be careful to not pinch the wires when you clip the LED panel onto the plate. 2. Placing an additional anchor at the center of the plate for support, since you won’t be screwing it to the electrical box. 3. Depending on how much slack you have on your existing cables, you might need a bit more to connect the panel. Hope that helps!
