Excellent Indeed, I like very much this video Only I think it would be good to add in the subtitles the elements of Bagua represented in each movement: heaven, earth, thunder , wind, fire, water, lake and mountain.

The words are correct. You even say practice is difficult. So one might not realize if one is not following the words. Your steps are too big. Your concentration is weak. The foot is even as it moves and lands, but many times you lift your heel before lifting the foot. Today I walked as in mud. I lifted my heel first and before I finished the step I returned it and began again. I had to shift my weight forward-outward more and have my knee be more straight. But my guts grabbed my hip and my straighter leg lost weight and moved out-of-the-mud. I carried it even and put it down flat. I am nothing compared to your studies and knowledge. Please continue to be a great example of the Truth of the Bagua.-Ernie Moore Jr.

Линейные связки противоречат круговому принципу Багуа. Цзымин или не Цзымин - это поздний уклонизм в сторону Синь-и. Багуа достаточно эффективен, в пределах основного принципа, если его достаточно глубоко осмыслить.

I am not sure what you mean by Northern Kung Fu? This is Cheng style Baguazhang which was formally known as Southern style. Yin Fu Baguazhang was called Northern Style. As for the man who is teaching, I believe he is capable of teaching Baguazhang. :) He is a very very good teacher and practitioner of the art.

For Baguazhang Northern and southern refer to north and south side of Beijing. Baguazhang in general falls under the classification of Northern gongfu.

The sifu just manipulated the student, assuming the latter could just stretch out his arm and not hit him with speed and power. Though the sifu seemed fierce in the looks, he is not effective in real fights, and will be hit in seconds. The sifu had erroneous teaching and passed that on erroneously also. 師傅操縱學生,認為後者只能伸出手臂,無力又無勁又無速度。那個師傅雖然看似兇惡,但在實戰中,幾秒鐘就被打了。他學得錯謬,又錯謬地傳給學生,誤人子弟!

I''m beginning to see bagua, as being more effective in the short range, than long. It just doesn't have the methodology to close the gap, against good, stand-up fighters.

Ah, yes. Always easy to win by demanding the impossible! All forms of fighting can be good if the practitioner has the level of practical experience to have applied it in over a serious amount of time against a range of different opponents. Take boxers, MMA and UFC fighters away from any experience within the cage or the ring, and they would be exactly the same, wouldn't you @@7The7Green7 ? Bagua Zhang was proven many years before you were born, in body guard positions for government officials, and in competitions where the opposition was killed or permanently maimed in tournaments. Not the soft treatment of today's bouts.

  • @anthonybey1324

Bagua is effective as the fighter and his training allows. It is far more rich than any style I’ve ever analyzed, thus it can be used to fight in multiple formats if trained appropriately. The father of western CQC systems (Fairborn) actually was trained by a REAL Bagua master and many of the main techniques he passed to US and Britain came directly from Bagua-the most famous move borrowed was the chin jab which uses the open PALM and comes from the LION palm.
