You know the deal.. You're researching gear and every video has the same guys with the same sounds and the same pitches. Every amp, pedal, modeler etc is the greatest thing since sliced bread. What if we had reviews and demos that cut the BS, removed all the monetary influence, cut out the flashy edits, removed all the post processing and showed you how these things sound in the REAL world with an average player in an average environment? Music gear is expensive and every penny counts. Stop being lied to with flashy demos by paid shills. I buy 100% of the gear I review so there is no bias or outside influence.. The way it should be. I will also post tutorials for rig builds and tone chasers featuring Headrush, Helix, Kemper and other gear for real world use. *I DO own Sonic-DNA.com and will refrain from demoing other companies IRs, Rig Packs and Profiles. Aside from that affiliation everything else is fair game.

    Ive just been using tonex and amplitude software and making clones with my headrush core. Its working really well. In fact, I just sent back the tonex pedal because I didn't want to use an additional unit for my sound. I just made clones of tonex captures I liked.

    this is cool I found this vid I have an original Headrush pedalboard I also have a Tonex pedal coming as soon as IK media sends it out. I keep brainstorming on how i am going to use the Tonex , (maybe in my analog pedal board) I also own a FrFr 112 headrush monitor, I was thinking straight in to that monitor for simplicity not to many options., and through the headrush F/X loop but I thought that could sound messy and out of whack . It seems nice through your prime should be similar hopefully . do you notice any latency or anything to look out for. I thought sometimes using the reverb, compression and noise gate from the tonex and save some blocks for other F/X, delay , drive , wah and volume etc... would be great. also I'm curious about that dynacomp at the end of the chain as opposed to before the tonex ?

    For me amp in the Room is acheived like this : modeler+poweramp pedal+cabinet speaker. Way better than modeler+frfr

  • @benburnett8109
    @benburnett81096 ай бұрын

    "amp in the room" Needs to be played "in a mix" It was played "in a mix" KZread compression. The speakers you are listening on determine the tone, NOT the original signal chain. The original signal chain is not replicated therefore it can't be replicated. These are all catch phrases used by all the KZread "Review gang." They are all interchangeable and designed to negate any comment positive or negative you may have regarding content. You even mention "good monitors." Good tone is good tone. Play the Black Album on your computer. Sounds great. Play it in mono on an old car stereo. It sounds great. Play it with a 100,000 watt pro audio system at a club and it sounds great. Good tone is good tone. In the room or not.

    It also helps if you set the IR mix to 90% instead of 100%, allowing a little bit of the amp's "harsh" frequencies to hit the speaker. I tried this with my HR pedalboard and two HR 108's and it provided a more real feel and amp in the room sound.

    I bought into the hype as well because "phase aligning the low and high frequencies" in order to add clarity sounds like something every guitarist would want. Highly disappointed that it's literally just eq that boosts the high and low frequencies. I took the pedal off my board because it added a fair bit of noise but i guess it's nice to know i can achieve the exact same effect on my HX Stomp with the built in global eq.

    Send my mix 5 back after testing it, there is nothing special about it. The fx quality is really bad, non e of their fix sounding great. And it’s not usable with an iPad as interface, latency all over the place. Every low budget interface is working without noticeable latency except the headrush. Very poor drivers, I’m waiting for the TONEX pedal….all the modelers on the market are crap, either lacking in amp sim, fx, or as usb interface.
