Man what a smug ass Bono is! Can not stand him and U2!

at the beginning of zootv they lost me. Their further "evolution" no longer appealed to me at all, sounded old-fashioned and opportunistic to me. Sometimes they scored a hit. Fortunately, other bands came along in the 90s who could make "the beat" that continues to appeal to me to this day. Nirvana, AAF, FooFighters, Blink182, the offspring, Linkin Park.... Metallica have always been true to themselves and I kept coming back.... U2 was a thing of the past. I agree with Larry, he became the outsider in his own band and was completely ignored. Now that they have started again, often without Larry... there is still that bad aftertaste. Disrespectful... SALUTE to you Larry. ...You were the humblest of the gang... that tattoo was well chosen...

To me, there were two absolute stand-outs: one very much expected--Richard Thompson, and one entirely unexpected--Cyndi Lauper! There were other good performances, of course, but those two were truly something special and did Joni's songs the full justice they deserve.

I'm amazed in hindsight that the *Mingus* album was so badly received at the time. I bought it about 4 months after issue, and I've always viewed it as one of *Joni's* best, along with parts of *Don Juan's Reckless Daughter* and of course *Hejira* and *Night Ride Home.* I think the inclusion of *Jaco Pastorius* is one that certainly lends itself to Joni's Music, and it proves her versatility as an artist.👌

Joni still looked happy & healthy here in this fine tribute to her legend. Unfortunately, she is 80 now, recently recovered from a stroke, and did not look so well at this weekend's Grammy Awards. But even in her weakened state she managed to Belt out Both Sides Now, one of her many classic songs!
