Thank You Rick Childers. I just shared "Fisherman" by Bad Finger with my Niece. I told her that I liked to listen to it when reading DRT in the margins of The Last Whole Earth Catalog during 1971. Now I will share your Reading with her as it is one of my favorite passages and the only one I remembered. When I was a young teen, I enjoyed this immensely. Thanks, Jay 😉 ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Thx Rick. You gave me insight into what I am finding an almost unbearable number of repetition. It was recommended to me by someone who I admire. I’m a Dostoyevsky fan and by far Thomas Wolfe has a poetic style that is like reading a novel by John Keats, if he’d lived to write one. Last night I decided to give up but not tell my friend 😅. I didn’t think life was long enough to be cycling. And the family kind of bores me. But your review made me realize that I can set it aside and come back for the experience. I love your Christian remarks about the Holy Spirit. Are you a writer?

Does anyone know of a musical rendering of this poem for choir? I remember in my last year of college, in 1988, I heard the choir sing this at the beginning of something we had to go to on the first day of school. The words were in the program and the music and words just blew me away. I have since tried to find the music and I just can't find it. It may have been composed by someone at the school or something but I don't know.

His father could not carve angels good enough to be sold for tombstones. His frustrations in his artistic ability, caused him to purchase an angel carved by someone else, and he put that angel outside the door of his shop to remind him that his artistic talent as a stone sculptor was only of adequate artistic ability.
