I didn't think I'd get hooked watching the whole thing but this game looks like so much fun! The only thing that irks me is even if the games can be short one player here was pretty much not playing the whole time. I wonder if there could be an additional optional rule that lets dead players maybe drop a random anvil or something to affect the game still. But otherwise I am definitely supporting this when it comes out!

I liked Factory Funner, but yeah, that rulebook doesnt answer a plethora of questions. FYI, BGG had (migth still have) the origin hubs in 3D, but i did not get them cuz there is no way to fit them in the box.

I like Escape the Dark Castle but the one I own is Escap the Dark Sector, have all the expansions for Escape the Dark Sector. Mountain Goats is such a delightful push your luck. The best how to train your dragon game IMO is Dragon Keepers by Catarina and Vital Lacerda

In Reavers of Midgard you do roll some of the dice, if it has an asterisk on the iconography you choose its face but if it is a blank die you roll it. You also roll the black dice on the sea voyage or if you choose to attack the defense of various village spoils and keep spoils cards, so there's a decent mix of some rolling of dice and some setting of dice

Of your list, I’ve played #9, #7, and #5 (I was hoping I’d played all the odd ones, but no dice!). My top 9 for May were: 9. MANGROVIA - This one was new to me, but it’s a great filler game! Cool action bidding mechanic. 8. SHIPWRIGHTS OF THE NORTH SEA REDUX - I hadn’t played the original, but this game is a neat deckbuilder and it seems to be the shortest of any of the Phillips/MacDonald “cardinal direction” games. Snappy and interesting. I haven’t decided whether I like it yet. 7. FOREST SHUFFLE - I can actually see this being my replacement for Earth because it’s so much faster (not that Earth is bad or anything). 6. YOKOHAMA - Consistently one of my favourite games of all time. I recently introduced it to a coworker and his wife and they’re obsessed, so they had me over so we could play it together! Looking forward to the reprint this summer! 5. DELTA - Everyone I’ve ever introduced to this game loves it. It’s simple enough for new-ish gamers to understand but complex enough in the sequencing of your actions that heavy gamers like it too. Beautiful art doesn’t hurt matters. 4. MESSINA 1347 - Got a copy of this game for super cheap. Had played it a while ago and remembered liking it. Not sure how long it’ll stay in my collection, because two of the three other players were “meh” about it, but I think it’s a good game! 3. EVACUATION - Definitely Suchý’s heaviest game that I’ve played, but I love this game so much! A brain burner for sure. 2. VOIDFALL - This one is super heavy, but worth the effort! I thought it was going to be a Risk-like 4X game and that I’d hate it, but actually it’s very Euro and not mean unless you make it mean (you’re mostly fighting aliens). I love it! 1. AGE OF INNOVATION - I gave my friend this Terra Mystica sequel for his birthday, and he adores it, so we’ve been playing it a lot. 😄

@@Melsboardgameroom I don't know when I'll get a chance to play Skyrise, so I'll make a comment now. Metropolys is a clean, simple game. Unlike other games with lots of bells and whistles, players can grasp not only the rules of Metropolys, but also the strategy in their first game. The bidding mechanic is really neat. In every game I've played, there was great tension as each player tried to make a final run that would end the game. I hope Skyrise preserves this essence of the game. As much as I like Metropolys, I felt that more could be done with this design. I'm glad that Roxley took a game that was largely overlooked and developed it into something special.

Mission Fun and Games is amazing. The staff is so helpful as well. I've spent hours of my life there and almost always leave with something. Also Rallyman is amazing

I am puzzled by River city. They have lots of games, not just family style, and a few I don't see in other shops too often. But their prices are so high that I find it impossible to ever consider purchasing from them. The same goes for many gamers I know,. So I wonder who they sell to.

Mel loved this segment. I was hoping you were going to comment on one of my favorite games I saw on one of the tables. The game is Pictures . Wondering if you picked up any games on this store tour? The game store I shop in has many older games and not as organized as that store.
