So how good is this outside tint? I had some installed but the place didn't tell me it was done this way.
Do I need to turn anything off in the menu before I remove the light?
With so much excess material to tack the front, do you ever salvage some of that to do small pieces like mirrors, headlights, emblems, etc. immediately after?
Definitely, when needed. You'll need to cut that extra off the bulk piece before you pull the release liner (backing) off. Then, sometimes, like this, I don't bother saving the material. This is for a few reasons. You don't want to cut your hold piece too small on accident. You need some extra material in order to tack those 4 corners down. Or, like in my case, you have plenty of extra scraps already. 😁👍🏻 Also, once you have exposed the adhisive and installed a piece, I would try saving any of the extra. There is too much risk of contamination or adhisive damage.
@@EncorePPFtint gotcha, I was speaking of the excess pieces you're trimming off after insta. Film works out to what, $4~8/sq ft depending on brand? Between bulking a hood and bumper you could easily be using an extra ~5 sq ft.
@dcastro5551 With some cars, you can save more material. Sometimes it's more work than it's worth. We charge enough for waste. 👍🏻
Thats not a toyota. Thats a stormtrooper. Just sayin!

Any upcoming tinting videos? Thanks and have a great day!
Yes, there should be one on Friday. I'm going to start editing window tinting videos again. The next one will be on a 2025 Toyota Camry. Thank you for the nudge! 😁
@@EncorePPFtint Great! Your videos have been very helpful through this process of learning window tinting.
@Ryanr2789 That is great to hear. I got busy and then went on vacation. I also got a little lazy. 🤣😂
@Ryanr2789 that is great to hear. I appreciate the feedback! 😁
I like watching your videos, could you please tell me which soap you use in the water and how many drops per gallon?
Thank you for the kind words! Here is a video I made about my install solutions. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qnue0JSrp8uTh5c.html 😁👍🏻
I like the v cut...
That's a good corner. It gives some good coverage. I've definitely changed my techniques over the years.
@@EncorePPFtint how do you prep edges and panel with alcohol??
@JBIRD575 I pour 70% rubbing alcohol on a microfiber towel and rub down all of the edges. You see me do it at some point if you watch my videos. 👍🏻😁
What about a paint pimple
That one makes me think of a white head pimple. 🤣😂 I talked to my body shop friend, and he calls them a "paint nib."
If they have ceramic coating, can i put a ppf on the top?
You can, but it's not a good idea. The PPF will be much harder to apply and will have a much higher probability of failure. The PPF just doesn't stick well to the ceramic coating. It's best to buff the ceramic coating off first.
@@EncorePPFtint thank you 😊
Of course, great question! 👍
What brand ppf is this or do you recomend?
We are currently installing PremiumShield (that's what we used in the video) but are beginning to switch over to a new PPF that we are going to be able to sell to our viewers. 👍😁
I'm Planning to go with Chrome tint for the roof, to not keep the heat in
It probably won't help much more than a regular ceramic film if you put it on the inside. Because the tesla roofs have a darkness mixed into the glass. So, reflective or not will pretty much be the same We always try to use a lighter ceramic film. Maybe a 50 or 35%. 👍🏻
@@EncorePPFtint Make sense. Thanks
Hello, You are not doing SEO, again... I want to work with you
Tbh number 2 is probably the safest too, as it melts together and gets harder, probably even hard to pull the ppf off too when the time comes 😂
Yeah, I bet it's pretty stuck on there! 🤣 if I can get to underneath or behind the pannel/hood, #2 is my favorite. 😁
This guys videos have helped me so much on multiple installs. After formal training I still need assistance from time to time and my instructor is of no assistance. This man is a lifesaver.
I really appreciate the feedback. Thank you for taking the time to leave it! 👌🏻 It's great to hear how helpful the videos are! As you learn more about PPF, you'll be able to learn more things from the videos as well. Stuff that you couldn't pick up on before you got some good hands-on experience.
What class did you take? How was it?
What kind of solution did you spray on your sponge to tack the corners down?
That was water. 👍🏻😁
ty for sharing B!
Of course! 😁
what tint film do you use? it seems very good
The film I used in this video shrinks incredibly well. It's made by SolarGard and is an inexpensive film. It's on the lower end as far as quality goes. I believe it's called smoke, and it's not a color stable film. So it's going to turn purple over time in the sun.
What is your slip ratio for the 5 gallon keg, or do you polish these cars first? Laying those recesses with slip is something I couldnt even dream of right now!
You should only be using 4 gallons in a 5 gallon keg. I'm normally running 7-12 ml per gallon. We do not polish the cars beforehand. We do run a claybar over them, though. Just keep practicing. You'll get there! It takes a ton of hands-on time to get at installing PPF. You'll get there!
Any content on the front end on these vehicles?
No, that's crazy. It's a pretty popular vehicle. I'll go through my recorded footage and see if I've ever recorded one. If I have, I'll start the editing process. 👌🏻
It's a paint nib. Tack is in a 32oz spray bottle. Enjoyed the video !
Thank you! I did ask my friend who owns a body shop. He calls them paint nibs as well. So it's settled... paint nibs it is! 😁
Very informative videos. Thank You !
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! It's great to hear that the video is helpful. 👌🏻😁

No! I wanna see a 2016 camry xle.
A 2016 is getting pretty old for PPF!

Still nailing it!
king of ppf thnx
Thank you! 😁
Does it peel off with time ?talking about front parking sensors
It should not peel off on its own. That is definitely not a normal failure area.
Does it peel off with time ?talking about front parking sensors
It shouldn't pop up at all.
The upwards squeegee is so helpful.
Glad to hear it! Thank you for leaving a comment!
I normally start with the logo and vent as it's one of my alignment points. Before stretching out, I squeegee in another few inches, which is something else you showed me. I will start with the headlight this time and see how it goes. It's black !!! Great.
Either way, it gets the job done! Sometimes, it's best to stick with what you know. 😁👍🏻
Watched this one again to prepare for this weekend. I need to work on my spit an stick technique ! 🤣
🤣😂 are you going to tack in the middle around the vent or tack around one headlight and stretch over to the other headlight? Both are good options. When you tack in the middle, you can get distortions around the vent when you stretch away from it. It's a lot of stretching. What color is the corvette?
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I watched the whole thing and I learned a lot. 🙏🏾👊🏾
Awesome to hear! I'm glad it was helpful. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! 😁👍🏻
Thank you for this tutorial
Of course. Hopefully, you found it helpful
Thanks for the good content! I’m from Manteca! Very close by
You are very close! How long have you been installing PPF or are you just getting started. I spend a lot of time in Manteca in my high-school years!
Is the "mist" just water? What tack solution are you using?
It's slip solution in the keg with the hose and tac solution in the spray bottle. Sometimes, I put water in the spay bottle as well. Here is a video that goes over my solutions and ratios: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qnue0JSrp8uTh5c.htmlsi=KFlR9jiA3IXrVoUz

@@EncorePPFtint It's me who thanks you, you are a good man no one shares their know-how with such precision I would thank you all my life may the good GOD protect you
Is this Premiumshield or the other brand you mentioned in the past?
This was PremiumShield. 👍🏻 This recording was a bit old. I forgot to make the video on this fender almost a year ago. 🤦🏻♂️
Great video and comparison, but why do you say "go ahead" so much? If you remove "go ahead" you are saying the exact same thing.
I wa5ched a bit of the video to see how often I was saying the. It's quite a bit! I was still learning to talk while I was working. My videos have gotten much better. 👍🏻😁
Can you make a videos showing how to heat seal the edges?
Done! 👍🏻😁 kzread.info/dash/bejne/gGqItcaYj6zYeMY.html, hopefully that is helpful!
ty for sharing!
My pleasure!
Thanks you for the great video
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the feedback

The order I install is exactly opposite starting at the front , blinker corner, fender/bumper alignment then align A pillar area and stretch down. Have you tried this and if so why did you decide to start at the back of the fender?
Kits are designed to be started in the back and be stretched to the headlight. In CORE, if you find a fender that has the numbered tack points, you'll find that they want you to start by the a pillar. Then stretch down towards the ground, and then towards the headlight. Personally, I've just always done my installs this way. It's easiest to line up the whole fender when you start by the a pillar, IMO. 👍🏻😁
@@EncorePPFtint Thinking about why I start in the front is likely because 25 years ago when I started installing PPF fender installs were only the tips or very limited front portion of the fender. One thing I've learned as an installer for 30 years is always keep learning and be open to trying new techniques. Everyone has something to teach someone.
@515PPF I'm all about learning new things as well. I've been installing ppf since 2004. 👍🏻😁
What brand were you using? It's so true that only the front edges were done! PPF only came in 30" rolls at that largest. Things have changed. I started with 3m and then moved on to VentureShield. I remember having to sell PPF to every customer. Almost no one knew what PPF was! Now, most customers are searching it out.
@@EncorePPFtint I've been tinting since 1990. PPF was late 90's early 2000's. Mostly small stuff making patterns from masking tape. Bulking on a car wasn't much of a thing because film needed to steamed to form. Same films you mention - 3M, Venture Tape/Ventureshield, Clearshield.
What felt are you using on your hard card?
Those felt edges are purchasable online for vinyl installs. The sick right to the sides on those gold cards or bondo cards. 👍🏻
I use a professional hair dryer. Works wonders on heat sealing as well as drying the edges. I do this first and then us the same heat gun you have for a final seal.
Do you only use the hair dryer when you are trying to speed up the drying time? If I'm trying to speed things up, I use an air compressor or a battery-operated blower.
Yes, I use it to speedup the drying time. I use to use a air compressor but found the blow dryer using heat works better up here in Wa, especially in the winter.
@marcclayburn6669 Yeah, i can understand that different things in different areas work better.
Having watch this, putting on a phone screen protector so be easy...
Phone screen protectors are cake! 😂🤣
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Hey Brent, thanks again for your excellent content . Did I hear you correctly say 8 mL of seventh generation soap for every gallon? That’s only like a quarter of an ounce. Is that the correct measurement?
Yes. I know that seems like a crazy small amount, but it gets the job done. There is a learning curve to using so little soap. You can start with double that soap and work your way down. Running more tacky, like I do, allows you to move faster and keeps the PPF from slipping all over the place. It also helps minimize the amount of tac solution that you need to use during an installation.
