Montemayor

As a military history buff I decided to do something productive with the extensive knowledge I have on battles. I will focus on not-so-well known battles as well as famous ones, from the gunpowder age to today (modern warfare).

I do have a life apart from this, so I consider this a hobby. Meaning, I will upload whenever I get a chance.

This channel is purely educational and I do not have a patreon. However, if you want to show appreciation for the work I do, feel free to donate using the link below. Please note that there is no obligation and I will continue to upload when the time comes. Overall, this is for the military enthusiasts' enjoyment. I acknowledge all of my sources in the video description.

Thanks, and enjoy!

“Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.”….. Ummmmm……no. Opportunity is when PREPARATION meets LUCK. Meaning, you can prepare so much to take advantage of an opportunity, but a measure of luck is required for a successful outcome.

Nice as the video is, it is more AI generated junk. Notice how the computer narrator pronounces a ship's bow as "bow" like "bow" and arrow. I am sick of computers making content on yt.

After coordinated confrontations At 9:41, at 12:00, at 13:28, Nagumo had to know the ambush plan had failed as planned and that Americans were prepared to fight. Problem is he kept pressing on at great cost of human lives and ultimately resulted in a suicidal attack and his own death in later ambush by American. This is a great video that shows how Japanese imperialist value human lives like dirt..

As a Japanese person, these series were painful to watch 🥲 In today's Japan, Yamamoto is known as a tragic great general who was assassinated, and Nagumo is known as incompetent. However, looking back at Operation MI itself, there were operational flaws such as insufficient reconnaissance and too few aircraft carriers despite the complex mission of attacking Midway base and enemy aircraft carriers at the same time. They should have included the escort aircraft carriers of Operation AL from the beginning! Despite this fatal failure, the results were hidden from the public, and Yamamoto and Nagumo were retained in their posts. The phrase "history is written by the winners" is often used, but I believe that the losers sometimes twist history to suit their own convenience. Sadly, the Japanese people have yet to face this fact.👹

Kido butai(機動部隊) was the only spear that could end the long-standing hegemony of the Western countries. What's sad is that the sunken flagship, Akagi, was named after a mountain in my hometown. I grew up seeing it every day.

The take away's was how poor navigation was then just a compass and a watch and the ability of a spotter plane to report true position and there ability identifying ships. And the fact all planes were on the same radio freq and no radio discipline is crazy. How do all the pilots not know to STFU and let just the Commander talk? Great video though incredibly brave guys.

Why didn't allied and jap fleets make better use of light carriers. The shoho had a flight group of around 15 zeroes and ten vals or Kate's. Two light carriers could deploy a formidable cap of over 20 Zeke's and a respectable strike package at that. Had the IJN made better use of their light carriers they could have pulled off a win at midway.

How badly did the American aircraft perform in most of the battle? Not doubting the courage and bravery of the crews, but the technology was sadly lacking. It caused their deaths. This is a masterclass in Carrier warfare.

I don’t think the Japanese Navy knew of their advantage. At Santa Cruz for example, they claimed to have sunk 4 American fleet carriers, twice as many as were actually operational at that stage. But I also think that it has to do with the dismal state of the Japanese carrier groups at this point. Midway forced a major reshuffling of the structure of the Kido Butai. Secondary carriers were now needed for frontline duty, but the rigid Japanese air group structure limited this. This was to such an extent that even during Eastern Solomons, the Kido Butai was not fully operational yet. The Shokaku, Zuikaku, and Ryujo actually had to strip the air groups from Hiyo, Junyo, and Zuiho because there wasn’t enough carrier pilots ready yet. Even during September, while covering the Kawaguchi offensive, the Shokaku, Zuikaku, and Zuiho actually had a smaller combined air group than the Wasp and Hornet. This ended up being a major reason why the Kido Butai was essentially crippled after Santa Cruz- the carrier air groups were suffering major attrition and were showing major signs of it. Additionally, there was the problem of fuel. The Japanese Navy was running a major deficient on the amount available. And during the October Offensive, the fuel was so low that even the oilers started to run out, forcing the battleships Yamato and Mutsu to sit the entire operation out, becoming essentially floating oil tanks at Truk.

@@somerandomguy4812 great point, my husband taught me ‘fog of war’ So much is lack or wrong impression, information. We’ve taught such nations over 40 yrs. He interviewed veterans before they died But as quote ‘history written by victors’ Then propaganda, we think only we immune And bias, we only want to hear read what we want Even I NEVER thought we’d have censorship and generations like ‘toxic masculinity’ openly public school official policy Forbidden to take classes to Remembrance Memorial Day museums etc Feminist leader Gloria Steinem amongst those openly prefer the term FemiNazi to feminist today. 1. I would have assumed the reason expected US carrier strikes never materialized was because the CVS had already vacated the area confident already victorious. 2. Revenge for Midway. 3. Luck, gamblers believe in streaks of luck, and play it out. 4. Karma, superstitious people might assume this ridiculous luck the universe balancing off same obscene bad luck at Midway. 5. Big picture. Exchanging 1/3 IJN Hca’s first 90% Allied cruisers and not only the majority of troop transports Allies had to turn the tide, but a Dunkirk disaster of trapped marines no way to evacuate, whether massacred or captured, the first allied counter-invasion works be morale blow. US news was still full of FDR scape boating innocent leaders over Pearl Harbor, this world cripple allied leadership in blame too. It’s not just the defeat of Allie’s counter attack, the successful Guadalcanal airbase would strike at Australia’s, and MacArthurs very lifeline. Australia could very well pull out of the war. Despite Midway, Germany again knocking at Moscow’s door, Stalin threatening accepting Hitler’s demands, Allies, the only reason forcing war on Japan brain hope to get to war with Germany foremost; FDR might make peace with Japan to end chance Soviet knocked our of war. If I’d known all the above, yrs I would’ve sacrificed my 1/3 to defeat US counter-invasion and keep IJN initiative blockading Australia. Attack, even if US carriers would take me out too. For the greater good. Mikawa would ever be shadowed coward by Leyte chan r if lifetime squandered too. Alone bs staff choosing to chase carriers instead of turn into packed like sardine invasion fleet at Leyte, works have turned the war. The US BBS raised from Pearl as FDR planned, were only loaded with shore bombardnent HE and wouldn’t have stood a chance against Yamato’s and Nagatos alone aside from entire surface fleets cruisers and long lance torpedoes couldn’t miss. The permanent loss of over half US capital ships would be followed by can’t miss slaughter of transports anchored so close to eachother each munitions ship would take several nearest with its titanic explosion. It would literally be shooting fish in a barrel, if not having to flee before equally embarrassing Halsey returned, they could even capture vital vessels. Worse than nearby Dunkirk Hitler making mistake attempting to hold 400,000 allied hostage to force peace; this would be more like Bataan. The only hope of evacuating the hundreds of thousands US troops sunk right below them. Devoid of supplies to break out of beach head Japanese reinforcing from all over Philippines, Americans do not go down fighting to the last man and would surrender, worse than Bataan. MacArthur would be finished, fleeing to Australia again. Even the huge guns of IJN not massacring them with impunity, fleeting before Halsey also doomed could return from Ozawa brilliant bait diversion. The US CVs were already ordered to withdraw the Kamikaze defeating the proximity fuse joy. The American beachhead world be bombarded into submission by land if not air, even night only number runs. Mikawa would suffer worst reputation equalkimg Nagano. Yeah no, once I realized I wasn’t being ambushed, I would have made the mistake assuming the US carriers had left the day before. Even if aware of me, perhaps the reason no carrier strikes. Ecuador they feared the aforementioned cloud cover then night might allow me to catch the carriers on the surface and that really might end the war in Oacifuc. But I’d be hero. The marines wild defeat the Americans and complete thei airfield, The blockage of Australia and MacArthur as well Japanese initiative ongoing. Combined with Stalin’s overtures to Hitler pounding at Moscow again to surrender if Moscow fell else pull out regardless; FDR only forced war with Japan false hope Congress works war wth Germany too, Hitler biggest mistake declaring war on US in Dane fans I hope Japan wild declare war on Russia. The point being that already at war with whither,FDR might very well make peace with Japan to keep Stalin in the war. I would be a hero, not just destroying the

During the Edo period, Japan traded with the Netherlands, which was less likely to be ruled by Christianity.Japanese people are very loyal and do things properly.Japan was studied early on at Leiden University in the Netherlands.International financial capital determined that Japan could be used to indirectly control Asia.Their only miscalculation was that Japanese people have a stronger sense of justice and fairness than Americans, and are a people who are willing to sacrifice their precious lives for the sake of justice.Japanese people must be proud of the Japanese people who sacrificed countless precious lives for the liberation of Asia. The Chinese come to Japan and destroy the Yasukuni Shrine, which is a memorial to the Japanese soldiers who sacrificed their precious lives to liberate Asia.

It was not the UK that started the Opium War against China, but Jardine Matheson & Co., a member of the international financial capital Rothschild. At the end of Japan's Edo period, Admiral Matthew Perry, who came to Japan to open up Japan, was related by marriage to the Rothschild family.Japan's Meiji Restoration was a farce of conflict between the British and French Rothschilds for financial control. They instigated the civil war from behind the scenes, lent weapons and funds to both sides, and imposed financial control on the Emperor's side, which they hoped would help them win, by burdening them with debt. For this purpose, Thomas Glover of Matheson & Co. was dispatched to Nagasaki, Japan.Weapons used during the American Civil War were also used in Japan.Japan's invasion of China and annexation of Korea were also part of Rothschild's strategy to dominate Asia using Japan and to counter Russia. They invested a huge amount of capital and know-how in order to expand Japan overseas, leaving Japan mired in debt and forcing it to undergo rapid modernization. That's why the Sino-Japanese War, the Anglo-Japanese Alliance, and the Russo-Japanese War occurred.Japan had no choice but to comply. The Rothschilds gave Japan a huge amount of money to start the Russo-Japanese War.So Japan won the war, but made little profit and prioritized debt repayment. At that time, it was impossible for Japan, which had limited resources, to rapidly modernize in a short period of time on its own with its financial resources. The essence of World War I was that the Rothschilds attacked Germany and Italy against Britain and France.Since Japan was financially dominated, Japan had to follow suit in Asia as well.Japan defied international financial capital on its way to freedom from being forever deprived of Asia's vast resources and assets.Japan aimed to become an Asian co-prosperity sphere. Therefore, Japan formed an alliance with Germany and Italy.American Jews pressured Japan to go to war.In order to participate in the war, the United States knew about Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor and left it as it was, presenting itself as a victim.Neumann and other Jews developed the atomic bomb from the beginning with the intention of dropping it on Japan. They claimed that they had no intention of dropping the atomic bomb on Japan after the war.Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which has long been full of Korean residents, delayed the declaration of war and made the attack on Pearl Harbor seem like a surprise attack. They leaked information about Pearl Harbor and other matters overseas in advance.International financial capital also used the Soviet Union, which they would later destroy, to counterattack Japan. They brainwashed China and Korea into thinking that Japan was a vicious invader and perpetrator.China and Korea have been fabricating history and teaching anti-Japan for many years in order to steal money from Japan. In China, the financial capital is obstructing the liberation of Asia, covering up a number of malicious obstructions, and still fabricating the story of impossible massacres and cruel Japanese troops. The annexation of Korea was also the intention of international financial capital. It was a stepping stone to advance to the continent.Japan, reluctant to annex Korea because it would increase debt, abolished the corrupt Korean royal palace, democratized Korea, improved the environment, and promoted industry.Korea wanted to become a great power like Japan and repeatedly petitioned Japan for annexation.Korea actively changed its name to Japanese so as not to be ridiculed by Chinese people. After Japan lost the Asian Liberation War, Korea claimed that Korea was a victim of Japan and that Korea was the victor.Korea is still trying to steal money from Japan by making all kinds of fabrications, such as being forced to annex it, having its name taken away, being massacred, raped, and forced to be taken away.In Japan, Korean residents in Japan are fabricating history and trying to brainwash them into thinking that Japan is evil.Japanese traitors and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stole some large amounts of money and gave it to China and Korea in order to hide it overseas.Japanese leaders who aimed to liberate Asia were tried and executed.Emperor Showa Hirohito apologized to General MacArthur in order to protect the Japanese people.America still believes the atomic bomb was in retaliation for the attack on Pearl Harbor. The atomic bomb was a retaliation against Japan, which was trying to liberate Asia.Human experiments with different types.
