Supreme Kai honestly had *so much potential* as a character, but my boy wrecked himself before he could even show what value he had to offer to the Z Fighters.

It's not plot. They were failing to see that she was craving under the strain of the weight she was taking on her shoulders for the sake reasons that real people miss close friends and family being suicidally depressed. You're perception of a person is as much based on your past experience with than as what you're seeing at the moment, if not moreso. Ruby is brushing them off, and they're reading the actions and missing the tone, she's strumming into the background but because they're don't capable of doing things on their own they're losing that she's not taking as active a role in leading as she had been. We are outside observers, and no matter how invested we might be, we aren't there living in their shoes. People miss the signs of depression all the time, and it's all to often a problem that being too close to blinds you to. We can sit here and pontificaat because no matter how attached to the story we are Most of us are still engaging with it on time level of a story, we have distance and time to reflect, we have hours of experience with these characters, not lifetimes or years of experience with these people. Yang is probably in the worst position to realize that sunbathing is wrong because she thinks she's seen Ruby depressed before, but Ruby was a toddler then, and her grief over Summer would look very different than now that she's seventeen. Or how she responded to the fall of Beacon, her grief and pain motivating her rather than crushing her. They all think they know how Ruby is reacting to the situation, and when you think you know something, you don't look at it closely or clearly.

Zoe is just flat out prettier than all of those girls. Yes her being white is a huge part of that. People need to deal with that. That's a wild thing to make a girl have to apologize for.

Velma is such an unlikable character that she makes Sage look like Katara. I’m not kidding. And what’s worst, my head canon was that she was suppose to be a copy of Katara, motherly personality and all.

Ok have you guys ever heard the song that was gonna be in the movie instead of a dream is a wish your heart makes? It’s called sing a little dream a little. It’s far more depressing and makes you go “oh yeah this is an abuse victim” but you know what? I’m glad they went with a dream it’s far more uplifting and fits better with Cinderella’s personality and the themes of the movie. And instead of showing wow this girls life sucks it says this is how she gets throw the abuse holding onto the hope that things can get better and you know what? It does eventually get better.

The live-action movie executed everything much, much better. No surprised people thought in the animated movie nothing happens, characters just exist and do stuff, that's literally all they do.

Honestly I hope they hope they make a character that humbles and attacks their foolish behaviours

A lot of these misconceptions come from media literacy. Many people watched these movies as kids and grow up, thinking about that childhood memory of the film and making judgment on it without properly analyzing it. Because they didn't make Cinderella into a valiant girl boss constantly singing how she is brave and bold, gallivanting a sword around. People miss that she is all those things, just not an exaggerated charactiture. As a person who grew up and still lives with a mostly abusive parental figure. These stories showing someone realistically dealing with these situations is cathartic for me. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing a character break down the abusive home guns blazing. But, most people aren't that. We're tired and anxious people who step carefully to get what we need until we can seize the moment to pull the rug out from under them and live a better life.
