@valfriesen4861Ай бұрын
While yes, he has a mastery of the notes, but there's a lack of dynamic variation, and in my opinion his playing lacks "expression," or let's say "feeling," Let's take the Mozart, just as one example. There are numerous repeated passages, but he plays each one exactly the same. This leads to tedious listening. He's simply boring.

once it was said the right hand didn't know what the left was doing. Like a prisoner under the thumb of time, true cognitive independence upon voice or polyrhythm with the beat unheard yet felt as the mythical human metronome, clearly unachievable yet developed out of gravity powerful as it were.

IT ишный Рахманинов .

What's with the made-up ending in the g minor prelude??

Definitely different than what we’re used to. I heard one recording of Rachmaninov playing that prelude and his ending was quite different from the score.

A remarkably gifted pianist and arranger in the tradition of Rachmaninoff himself. Wonderful recital.

I couldn’t agree more! Genuine question, could you articulate what makes him of Rach’s tradition or what was revealed in his playing style for you to think this? I’m notating some of Gryaznov’s works and I like to interpret and comment on them in the description, but I’m looking for input from others on his playing (e.g., his gift for voicing, for example, is exceptional and often noticed above everything else).

Angela Hewitt oder Sir Andras Schiff...so what...
