I am planning to do this, this weekend. Is it okay to go at night alone? So people where there, right? Would you suggest doing this to get good pics? I have gopro and nikon d5300? What exact spot you used?
On a milky ways night for sure they will be people. I don’t think you will have issues. Just Bring plenty of water as the heat is something to worry about. Also watch for the creatures of the desert. The normal cares for a hike.
@@MyFlyingEyes sure. Planning to carry atleast 2L of water. Yes if people are there then no issue. Seeing from your pics its a good location. Can go behind arch and also get some pics. Any specific setting for DSLR you would recommend?

Thanks for this tip! I noticed one thing, when focusing manually with the magnifying option this function disappears and we no longer see anything, any idea on the problem? THANKS.
You're right the Bright Monitoring function is not available when you manually focus. What I do is this: When I focus on the stars I set ISO to 2000, Aperture as open as I can F1.8 in my case, and Shutter speed around half a second to 1 or 2 seconds. Then I activate the magnifying zoom when I focus and I point the camera to the brightest star I can find and I can get it right. Then if I have to re focus on a foreground subject then I set up a light on the subject and get the focus iluminating the subject. Once I get the focus I activate the Bright monitoring feature to work on my composition.
@@MyFlyingEyes Thank you for these explanations, I use the same "tips" during my firework shoots, headlamp or distant street lamp, however I am quite disturbed by the noise that appears on the screen as soon as it gets too hot dark, I come from the Canon 5D MKIV and this phenomenon was not very visible, and I admit that it surprises me a lot from equipment like Sony.

@@MyFlyingEyes , No Sir :-) I meant more about their responsiveness in a positive way, that they accept responsibility if things go wrong. I had in my private photo book some pictures really underexposed so to say. They accepted and issued voucher same a for you. 🙂
@@f__e__e__l__e__e__p That is awesome. I have a horrible experience with another company which they ruin all my pictures adding filters without telling me. They even ignore my warnings before printing because they sent me a digital version of my book before printing and I told them the pictures are over exposed and over saturated. And they told me not to worry about because it was just a digital version and the prints will come out fine. But when i received the book they were exactly as the digital version. And they only offer me 80% discount on a reprinting. even though there was not warning whatsoever of those filters being added. A total disgrace. If you do night photography never choose Photobook America.

Just found this video after spending around 45 minutes on the online chat. They took all information including all serial numbers, my name, address, phone number and videos of the problem. Then they told me it is out of warranty and I should buy some from their shop. Very disappointing considering they have only been cycled 30 times. Needless to say I won't be spending any more money with DJI. I do understand warranty conditions but I have other products with Li-ion batteries which are still going strong after 10 years+.
I don't know if the replacing swollen batteries is still going on right now. Some people say it is some others it isn't. it probably has to do with some security liability issue of certain batteries. Probably after checking your serial numbers they figured out yours were not part of the issue. I am just guessing because DJI has not been exactly generous when it comes to replacing parts that stop working. I have a DJI FPV battery with very few flights that stop working out of nothing and they didn't replace it either because it was out of warranty. but the fact is that it hasn't more than 10 flights 7 minutes each. Sorry to hear your case brother.

This will help beginner-astrophotographers like me to navigate the statues in the early dark of dawn. Thank you for this. Btw, how low is the lighting FX you used? I bought a LED changing color flashlights with flashlight tripods and put 3 layers of diffuser film to dim down the brightness or lumen and my camera setting will be 100 to 200 ISO, 20" SP (25mm F1.8 Lense) . I'm going back there tomorrow early dawn to see how this set up will be.
Hopefully it won't rain like this morning. Weatherapp for Iphone is inaccurate. Monday is the eclipse.

Hi - after watching this video (and others) I got it working as follows - turn on the gimbal - make sure it's the Micro USB to MULTI USB ***not the micro to micro***. In the gimbal settings menu - select camera / sony / off - then turn on the camera - voila!

dang, I just got this camera and this probably saved me from a bad shoot. So this "bright monitoring" option is only needed if you are viewing as "live view display" at night? I noticed how it wasn't showing a live display on my first shoot and I over-exposed my shots on a cloudy day. My old Cannon 80D had the live display as default, so I was confused why nothing on the screen was changing.
I only use it to compose in the dark, not to tweak my settings. In order to see what settings are right I would take a picture and see how it looks.

If you can do it better, then do it yourself. But to be equal with me don't do it on your native language, do it on a foreign language. And do it live. Sometimes I do a script, I write every single word I am going to say and then i record and edit the video. but as I didn't have the time to do all that this was a live recording. If you scroll trough my channel you will find well edited videos. Now that you know all this would you prefer not to have this information rather than be patient?

Thank you !! Over there yes at the right night during the season you can see it with naked eye. You have to get used to the darkness for a few minutes and the you'll see it. Not with those colors captured by long exposure photography, but you can see it. For the time lapse I use my Micro four thirds Lumix GH5. Not ideal to use a crop sensor for milky way, but I did an entire collection, a book and a 3 month show at a fine art gallery with that camera so I kind of make it work. I would call customer support and ask. The common sense thing to do it is to make it available on the regular menu.
I contacted the live chat support today. They asked for a video showing the issue on the battery and the serial number, and then asked to soak it in salt solution and send that video too. As soon as they saw the soak video I was told a coupon code will be sent to me. Very quick and easy.

You car has a plate number, not an electronic tracker which give away your position to criminals. The entire rule is ilegal in plain violation of the constitution and other laws and it has been set up in an ilegal fashion also. Just to favor private corporations. It is an act of treason. Ilegal is to track an individual with electronic devices.
