I have fine, flat, curl resistant hair. I only use lotta body setting lotion. Nothing else works. It's cheap and doesn't weigh your hair down.

Hairpieces really are the best! I definitely would try to find the Texturizing Taffy - it makes hair less it basically gives the effect of teasing without having to tease, which is great for these "effortless" looking styles - it's been a game changer since I discovered it last year!

I used to use flour for my hair powder and it was an absolute nightmare to wash out. Now I use white spray on hair color since it washes out of my hair a lot easier.

How wide and long are the curling rods? If I have shorter hair, should I get other type? Also, thank you for the video, I always wanted to have Marcel waves <33

The rods I used are are 0.3” in diameter, 9.5” long. (There is a link in the description box). You can definitely use a smaller size for shorter hair, you just may want to use slightly larger sections of hair per waver to avoid the wave pattern being too small/busy/frizzy.

Depending your exact haircut, you can totally Marcel wave bobbed hair - that is exactly what the fashion forward ladies like Irene Castle who cut their hair in the 19-teens and early 1920s did! Try using smaller rods or “U” hair pins instead

I really need tips for simple things to do myself. i have extremely thick hair but mostly i have no idea what to do with it!! so to avoid looking like a troll I just put it up in a knot or ponytail. but it would be really fun to learn some old hairstyles that aren't too complicated to do myself.

And it seems like a wet set technique that my hair actually has a chance of fully drying in, which is a rare find! Also your video presence is great and I dont know if you plan on making more, but I'd love to see them! (pin curls, regency, all the things!)

@@jennylafleur Possibly the best thing about it in my eyes is that since the original curlers are just wire and you're using foam, I think I can actually easily make my own from fabric-covered wire. And maybe use up some old scraps. ;-)

When you twist the hair fluff out, or “pancake” the twist before you pin it down. I’m doing a video on how to do this style with finer hair soon!

What a lovely hairstyle, I can't wait to try this! I've often been afraid that mid-century hairstyles all involve copious amounts of barrel curls which I don't like doing, but now I'm finally assured that some of those were actually rope braids, which I love doing!

Yep, while you definitely see barrel curls and tete du mutton style curls alot in the 1760s, there are more options!
