This is the first time since the mid-1990's that I now see a reason to re-visit Texas.

I live 25 minutes from there, been going there since I was a child. Still have people living there and the fishing is decent. Beautiful memories of a beautiful place.

Just on the east side of highway 207 at Lake Mackenzie is Tule Canyon. The canyon begins just east of the highway. It's on private property so access is complicated but it is a beautiful and dramatic canyon with a lot of high plains history and it really needs to be a state park or national monument. To the owners credit they have protected it and left it wild and natural. If you search for Tule Canyon Texas or Tule Canyon Narrows you can find pictures of it, mostly from drones.

In the summer of 1980, my best friend and i put a 16 foot john boat in at Jefferson, Texas and paddled down into the Caddo Lake. We did this because we were leaving for Marine Corps recruit Traning at the end of the summer. My friend passed away a couple of years ago, but this is one of my most cherished memories with him.

So refreshing to to hear someone openly admire a Texas Ranger. They were some of the best cavalry ever assembled in the USA.

The Texas settlers simply did to the Comanches, and others, the same thing the Comanches, and others, did to those who were there before they moved in. The Mexicans couldn't defeat the Indians, the Anglos could. That's pretty much sums it up.

I toured David Mountain loop in 2002 and again in 2008, both occasions at the end of summer season. The air was cool and crisp up in those mountain roads, though just 30 miles away it was 95-100 fahrenheit

I was born and raised in the Panhandle of Texas. My 85 year old mother lives in Dickens. I have lots of relatives all over N.W. Texas. I am 65 and remember some of these towns when they had a lil bit of life in them.

My wife and I went to Ft. Davis several years ago, on a my Harley, from Dallas. It took 10 hours to get there. Sadly, at the time, we both were working and because of that, we had to leave the next day without seeing much of anything there. Maybe sometime, some day, we’ll go back and see what we missed.

Are y’all sure tht this is the most beautiful river in all of Texas or is it the most gorgeous river in all of America cuz I’ve stumbled across some really nice rivers But neither came quite as close to being as stunning as this one And to you non Natives/out of towners tht say Texas isn’t hilly and it’s flat well there you have it Texas is by far one of the most attractive states in America I mean we dnt just have the Devils river cuz if you thought this one something you guys should see the Hamilton pool preserve if you haven’t already or the hill country or the view from enchanted rock or make your way to the willow city loop or the beauty of the canyon lake And if you like caves The cavern of Sonora definitely will not disappoint Texas is breathtaking our gems or just hidden And we prefer better tht way cuz if they weren’t our state would become just like California && Florida one big tourist cesspool 🌊🏖️🍸

01:20 - It's NO Surprise to me that the Original Texans fought so hard. All the White Racist Pigs who started leaving Europe circa 1500 are now operating worldwide. What makes Texans so Super Racist is that they're all Hillbilly Bible Thumpers as well !!! 😮

Have you done Crowell? That's my dad's home town. I'm also familiar with Quanah, Vernon, Chillicothe, Medicine Mounds, Benjamin, Truscut, Margaret, Thaila. There's another little town between Vernon and Crowell. Can't think of the name of it right now.

Grew up in Calhoun county just down the road, a serious railroad nerd and model all of Calhoun county railroads in the 1910-1930 era, one day, I plan to add a fourth level deck perfectly as I can model the indianola railroad in the 1855-1865 era, just before the first of two storms that ultimately wiped indianola off the map forever it’s just crazy to think, had that not happened, Galveston would be indianola and indianola would be modern day Galveston

My multi-great grandmother arrived in indianola in the 1850/60’s I think, weeks at sea, that’s how one part of my family arrived to America, most don’t know this, but maybe not until the last few years, two steam locomotives have been sitting just outside indianola in the bay, slowly rusting away absolutely covered in shrimp nets.
