  Thank you so much! Does anyone know if military service can count as service hours? I went straight into the military after high school, served 5 years active duty, and now I'm in the reserves while pursuing an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry.

  Passing the DAT is when you study hard,if you can't study or you don't have time for your studies I'd advise you get yourself help like Mr Thomas

  I have a cousin who never studied much,we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than studies after writing DAT last month, she passed and I failed😣, I asked her how she did it, just found out she got her help from Mr Thomas ..

  For the supplemental applications, if we don't submit it to AASDAS, then where do we submit it too? Directly to the school's website? I'm confused on that part.

  Hi! this was very helpful! Thank you so much for sharing! I do have a couple of questions: 1. What would you put on the transcripts section if you dropped or retook a class on the transcripts section? 2. Do you only put the classes you earned credit or do you put all the attempted grades? 3. Do you suggest that I order an official transcript for myself and input all the grades exactly as it shows on the official transcript? Thank you so much!

  So my question is this. I plan to try and take the DAT during my winter break Junior year. So this will be around January 2024. Now I want to make it so I use my 6 month eligibility wisely and have a chance if I need to take the test again during the summer. I would be done with Junior year in May of 2024, so I want to make my eligibility time stretch till June of that year, when should I apply so that my eligibility will line up starting January and ending June?

  This is totally up to personal preference! I used a macbook air in undergrad and continued to use that laptop in dental school!

  Hi, thank your for these templates. I just found your video and is really helpful. I’m in my junior year of undergrad and planning to apply to dental school soon. I would like to ask you those shadowing hours and those volunteer hours need to be signed by each doctor you shadow or each volunteering you do ? or just have the template and send it like that for your application w all the basic info! I also wanted to ask- what's the earliest I should list on my volunteer log? As a senior in high school I did a lot of volunteering and I was curious if dental schools preferred I focused more on my college experiences?

  you mentioned that you attached letter writers' info so did you not submit it through Committee letter? I am in process of committee letter so will they just take care of all my letters?

  Yes, so you have a few options when submitting letters of recommendation. Either, the individual letter writers can upload their letters or a committee on behalf of multiple letter writers. Either is a good option!

  Marquette is a Jesuit school. There are some aspects of religion that you will see during orientation, but aside from that it is not really seen in the dental school. (There are no religion based classes that are part of the dental school curriculum)

  When should I order my transcript? How long does it take?

  You can order your transcript through your university. Each university uses a different program to do this, so the time can vary. It usually takes anywhere from a few days to 1-2 weeks!

  I believe it’s considered unethical for you to read it. You’re not supposed to see the written letter itself. So it’s supposed to be submitted directly or through a third party like a predent organization for your application

  @@angeloriny yes, I agree! Dental schools often prefer that you do not see the letter. This ensures that your letter writers can be honest in their recommendations. However, if you absolutely need to look at the letter, just indicate that you have seen the letter on your application!

  Is it true that you have to wait until six months before the date you plan to take the DAT to register? I heard that when you’re approved they only show you dates for the next six months. :)

  Hmm I'm not exactly sure how far in advance they will let you schedule! However, it is usually recommended to schedule 2-3 months in advance of when you would like to take it!

  I definitely plan to make an entire video about this in the future! Usually, shadowing simply includes watching all of the procedures that a dentist does during their day. You can ask questions about something they did in the procedure, their day to day life, etc. Anything that would help you become more familiar with the dental profession!
