  Just saw this tonight with Joshua Bell at the Kansas City Symphony, along with "Water" and "Fire" from the suite. Earth was my favorite of the three. It was beautiful. Bravo!

  The first time I heard this, after being harrassed and placed in the US criminal justice system. I was laying in bed one night, so sad... and all we had were radios. I loved KUAF 91.3 which played classical music. (I'm a violinist and teacher, but have the disease of addiction, I could not stop even though I wanted to for years) This song came on. I loved this song. This piece is by far, my favorite concerto for violin. I downloaded and learned still in living in my problem experiencing rehabs and homelessness. I am now very grateful to say. I am 39. I did not give up. At 35, I had a profound sudden change and sacrificed my entire belief and thought system to place the 12 steps of recovery first in my life. I know play in a symphony, I am pursuing two degrees and play with many students, who are my best friends and family from China and all over the world. This piece. Coming on the radio, that one lonely night in my life, never left my heart. Music never can leave anyone. People that play have to play. I encourage you all to never give up, just like these two lovers in this butterfly lovers concerto. If Joshua Bell even know how much I used to listen to all of his and everyone's recordings when I was younger. I learned music so fast, my teacher thought I was prodigy when I first started. I love it too much. Finally getting my bachelors in music, all I want to do is help others. And what a gift I have yet to share, God willing. And God bless you all.

  Kevin - I watched Joshua Bell play this last night at the SF Symphony conducted by Ryan Bancroft! I wept. How beautiful. I was so moved that it utterly left me in tears. What an incredibly beautiful composition. Thank you for this masterpiece!

  @@1inchpunisher715 Not sure if the folks at the Davies Symphony Hall recorded it. It was phenomenal, however. I wish everyone could have seen Ryan Bancroft kill it with the orchestra. They seemed to love him and other musicians in the orchestra wept during Earth.
