Keto Meals and Recipes

People choose ketogenic diets for a variety of reasons. On this channel, I describe low-carb, high-fat recipes to support a keto diet, and show that you may still enjoy a huge number of satisfying easy and gourmet meals, side dishes, desserts and other treats. In many cases, the recipes are ketogenic versions of international favorites. As well as meeting low-carb, keto requirements, the recipes are gluten-free, grain free and sugar free. They will please the whole family, those on keto diets for their health or diet goals, and others who have specific metabolic needs related to diabetes, celiac disease, epilepsy and various inflammatory conditions, in need of variety and nutrient-dense meals.

This is so helpful, as my parents grow a lot of pumkins 😅 i want to give keto a try but i couldn't picture how i could tell them '' well i will just skip eating pumkin for now '' 😅 this looks a lot better than having pumkin soup four days in a row, every week 😅

    Hi Celine - I add the macros because ingredients that are keto can still add a lot of carbs to the overall meal. When I know that I am having something that is a little more carby as a side dish or ingredient, it gives me the information I need not to include side dishes that could put me over my daily limit. I am a type 2 diabetic and knowing my carbs helps me to be "diet controlled" so that I don't have to use medication for my diabetes. As for eating pumpkin every day, I have a recipe called "Thai Pumpkin Soup" that my husband and son *would* eat every day if I made it :-) . You might want to try it for a change of pace. Cheers!

    Hello, i tried making this, i thought i succeeded since i got the right consistency after i turned off the fire, but when it cooled, it turned into something like a sticky cream. I don't know how that happened. 😢

    Hi Thea! It sounds by the description of the sticky cream that one of two things might have happened. Either the heat was a bit too high, or you cooked it too long on your heat setting. Either the higher heat, longer cooking, or a combination will cause more evaporation, resulting in a thicker product. Reduce the heat a bit, and try cooking it for half the time, at which point test to make sure that the sweetener has dissolved, and the cream doesn't have a gritty feel. If it is at the consistency that you like, you can stop cooking at that point. BTW, what sweetener did you use? I hope that my answer helps you - Cheers!

    Hello! Putting it in the freezer, like all homemade ice creams, it will freeze to a solid. In a good, airtight container, your ice cream should keep for a couple to three weeks, if you have really good willpower 🙂. Thank you for your question - have a wonderful day!

    Hi Renflower! We will probably visiting Japan at least one more time, as a stopover on our way to Australia, and the idea of visiting places that are more nature-oriented is what we hope to do. On our first trip, we visited Kyoto, Hiroshima and Tokyo, but as I said next time it will be more about the natural beauty.     Your comment is quite rude. If you don't like people talking at you while explaining a recipe, there are many ASMR channels that you could go to instead. As for kindergarten cooking, I'm glad that you find my video explanations that clear and easy. That a kindergarten child could do my recipe means that I explained it well. That makes me proud.

    Hi Riconat! The sweetener that I prefer to use is Lakanto white or gold, depending on the recipe. I buy the regular granulated and grind it to a fine confectionery powder myself because the prepared confectionery sweeteners have an additional additive to keep them as a powder.     I cooked this yesterday and fell in love with it! I have never had a Cobb salad. I used napa (Chinese) cabbage as I couldn't find Romaine, it is very similar to salad in taste and texture. I used the whole napa head, even though it was more than 300 g, because I could not store any leftovers in my small fridge. I felt the need to double the dressing quantity, because of the increase in volume. In the end the recipe yielded 5-6 portions instead of 4, as the volume was bigger due to the whole napa head. I checked the macros and the net carbs do not increase by much with 200 g of dressing. The calories due to fat increased though, but I would rather have more dressing and make the dish my main meal, than give up the double delicious dressing!     Hi Victrix! You are absolutely correct, napa cabbage is an excellent substitute for romaine - nice and crunchy, neutral flavor but adds to the texture. I also use napa cabbage in a lot of my Asian recipes - it is wonderful for stir frying. The Green Goddess Dressing is one of my family's favorites, and is the one that they request most often. There are other recipes that I want to use this dressing in, but that I have not videoed yet, so hope to in the latter part of the year, as I am taking a few months off to recharge and recoup from a bad bout of covid. Thank you for the compliment regarding carefully crafted recipes. I always test and make the recipe several times before creating a video for it, as ingredients are expensive, and people's time is short, so I want the recipes to work out before I post them.     I cooked this last week and loved the taste! I would eat feta cheese with anything. I think this particular cooking method allows the vegetables to stay crunchy and not soften too much, 30 minutes together with the chicken would indeed make them too soft.

It always used to confuse me why it would be recommended to put your meat and your vegetables together at the start, since meat takes much longer to cook. I really love feta too.     Please invest in a good quality ice cream container. Glass is dangerous, if the glass chips, it’s easy to mistake a sharp shard of glass for an ice chip which can cut you or cause damage in your throat.

    You think something basically only consists of vinegar and butter will go bad after 1 or 2 weeks in the fridge? I bet it would be completely fine after more than a year. Even unrefrigerated it should last a few months at least.

    Hi BrodyYYC! Maybe if it were oil and vinegar it would last much longer, however when I use butter in a recipe, I tend to be more cautious because butter does go rancid after a while. Maybe my two-week recommendation is overly cautious; I have left mine in the fridge for a little over a month and it was still fine. However, even with store-bought condiments they recommend that you refrigerate after you open the container. However, I take your point that two weeks may be a bit of a short recommended time.     Hi Marie! Congratulations, and the warmest wishes for a happy and prosperous life with your new husband, and many blessings to you both! Thank you for inquiring regarding the cookbook. We have submitted proofs to two different publishing companies, and it took months for them to send us our first proof copy. When they quoted the costs to produce one copy, we were shocked at how expensive the book would have to be in order just to break even. We are looking at alternative ways of publishing a hard copy that would be more in line with cookbooks that you see in a bookstore. At this point, our e-cookbook is ready, but I wanted to wait and see if we could launch both the e-cookbook and hard copy together. Such a long process - I had no idea! I'm taking a bit of a break from videos to recharge, and to focus on other projects, but I have not quit the channel, just needed a bit of a rest after seven years...     Hi Jean Carlo! You are most welcome, and thank you for your kind compliment about the recipe. This is a two-part answer: First, why I use glucomannan and what it does: Glucomannan, or konjac root powder, a natural plant-based product, is used in keto, gluten free baking and recipes to replace gluten, which holds cakes together. Without glucomannan, baked goods will be more crumbly. Glucomannan in place of gluten, like gluten, is a binding agent for the sorts of ingredients used as keto flour. Some people will use either xanthan gum or agar agar in place of glucomannan, for the same reasons. I prefer glucomannan because it does not create a gummy or rubbery texture, as do both xanthan gum and agar agar. The second reason that I use glucomannan, as in this recipe, is to create a really nice texture and hold together when you add the tres leches over the cake. I hope that this answers your question.     Hi Jamie! Yes, you absolutely can use coconut sugar, however please note then it would not be "sugar free" as coconut sugar would spike your blood sugar the way table sugar does.
