I thought William Forrester would give a rousing speech or a great, powerful recital. But Boy! Was I disappointed.

The movie is fictional, of course, but maybe one day, with AI help and implants and selective breeding and crisper gene manipulation etcetera, something like this could happen.

This story is pehaps the most moving story on so many levels. Race not being one of them. Sure the author tried to make it seem that way, but the basic story isn't that of a racial one but more of an underdog prevailing in an unsuspecting way. For you to believe its racially motivated hatred you would have to believe the general premise. No where in the movie is ii stated. Point being jamal could've been white According to the storyline aa coleridge character was and Crawford was rougher on him. The characters in this storyline transcend beyond common discrepancies. Forester was over analyzed by his public who believe his writing was of himself not of his troubled brother who died because of his not looking out for him. He then became a recluse blaming himself. .. Jamal and Forester if you notice grew up in the same neighborhood at a different time. Both had brothers with problems. There are other similarities as well.

Amidst all the justified praise for Connery and Abraham, can we stop for a moment to consider how criminally underutilized Rob Brown is? Finding Forrester, The Express, Coach Carter, The Dark Knight Rises...his work enhances all of those films and more. Why does this guy not get more roles?
