The sensor and the AF of the Zf with Expeed 7 processor would make sense for a current competitive Z5 II. Such a Z5II as a supplement to the Z6III would be comparable to the D90, which came on the market after the D300 and was considerably cheaper than the D300. I think the D90 was one of Nikon's most successful digital cameras

A Z5 user would probably upgrade to a Z6iii, not a Z5ii. The Z5ii should be aimed at new Nikon users or Nikon DX users

I just wish Panasonic would hurry up and announce their new top end FF bodies. I use the S1 and S1h, but im currently looking to move to Sony or Canon as I'm ready to upgrade, but there's currently no upgrade path with Lumix. If I have to wait past this summer I will have to change system which is very annoying.
They simply need to refine. Improve sensor speed readout, and low light capabilities up to 4k120 10 bit, increase fps in electronic mode up to 20fps , new rotative screen from a7rv. Ai processor, 8 stops stabilization. Improve Active stabilization even more if possible. Reduce weight, improve flash sync. Add tool like false color, LUT, anamorphic helper, film looks, higher res evf. Improve sound mic capabilities with 32 bits float internal, number of channels, wireless sound capabilities with shotgun mono/stereo, usb speed, nvme ssd extension, improve wifi speed, improve application monitor control with phone. Here are a list of things they can work on.
Panasonic/Lumix needs to get it’s act together. The S1H is 5 1/2 years old snd very dated. Nikon and Canon have had 8K 60P cameras for 3 years now. Sales that should of gone to Panasonic went to Canon’s R5C and Nikon’s Z9. Also getting tired of all these uploaders making videos and have no idea when Panasonic is ever releasing anything.
As a charter D500 shooter, a DX Z8 is precisely what I am looking for. It doesn't need 45mp, or a built in vertical grip, but must have at least 50% more MP than the current 21mp of my 8 year old D500, and every other current samo samo DX Z body ... something at least comparable to the 33mp Canon R7. FYI ... The Fuji $2000 XH2 is a DX, and has 40mp, and all the video and speed a Z8 has.

Seven months without a comment? There are clearly some assumptions built into your choices which most people do not agree with. Your choice of the Moment Strohl is ridiculous. Why is it on the list if it is so limited in its ability to carry camera gear and as per your own admission it is "for hiking first and photography second". Clearly, not one of the "best camera bags".

I wouldn't describe it a major difference,s but rather a small firmware update lol I must mention that I have an om1 mk1 ( and omd em1, old but still using, still works and is sexy with 17mm ) plus several pro zuiko lenses. So ye, I will wait for the next one, maybe then we will see major differences lol

I'd rather they keep a 6k sensor ( or even drop to a 4k sensor) and boost the frame rates, and add ND, XLR, etc.
The price point for a z80 would have to be substantially higher with those improvements alone. As a happy z50 shooter, I’d prefer a 50ll for the form factor alone.

So with Panasonic's Lumix GH 7 introducing 32 bit float audio seems like a logical upgrade for Sony A 7 series...why not? I'm using the Zoom F3 32 bit float field recorder to enhance the sound and to prevent clipping. I feel having it already built into the camera would be very attractive for many Sony fans.

come on, really?? Sony A7C II features an in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system. This camera includes a 5-axis stabilization mechanism
I will be on this as soon as it hits the market. I sold my D500 when I went all mirrorless but have been Jonesing ever since for a mirrorless replacement. Shoot mostly with the Z9 right now, which won't change much, but there are those places I like to hunt wildlife where a crop sensor will come in handy (and I know, I shoot "crop" on the z9 often) with some more cropability.

LOVE that little Z50...I hooked it up to the 180-600 and it looked like a cartoon. But the images were fine! Just want quicker focus and a bit more ability to crop!
