  I run the chinese version of the 48 IDA. After cleaning internally, they are as good on the street as my Italian Webers. My 2165, K8 big valve head motor runs high 12s on the street according to the Dragy. Cost was 275. for the pair on Ebay!

  Just the twitchy part of me talking here, but what was the block number? You have pre-71 single port heads with a later model alternator, in a '73 or newer bug. I saw your car at Maple Grove on the way out. Did you have a stand or just show? I'm planning to be at Mason Dickson in August.

  I know them well but prevent OVERHEATING. If it runs hot the cyl heads Crack between the inlet ports. I rode them hard and i meen them hard. Revs to low they OVERHEAT.

  It was a type 3 but we converted to be a type 1. Type 1s and Type 3s our the same blocks.

  @@VWPrince53 I don't think you know what you're talking about at all. I own a beetle and a squareback. This is a type 1 engine. Type 3 engines are longer.

  We know the engine of type 3s! This one has the oil cooler flat and didn’t have an oil dipstick. We had to order an adapter with an oil dipstick. And an adapter to make the oil cooler straight! If you look it up you’ll see search.app/M1nEtSBejT1JHNrn6

  Not really helpful without showing the proper way to thread the laces (short and long) and tie them off and tuck them. Also you wrap the thread wrong; you’ supposed to follow the solid areas between the perforations so none of the holes are covered.

  He wanted the original one and we know about the distributor issue. We just wanted to see if it will start and then we will fix the problem with the distributor pointing the wrong direction. 👍
