Watching Orson Welles put on Falstaff while explaining him in contemporary (1960s) terms, then a monologue, delightfully given, on the joys of drinking sack. I would give my pinky finger to have met Welles--and Falstaff.

For any of you that don't know, a man named James King took the "30 Years of Farming" written by Fred and turned it into a bluegrass SMASH HIT. To this day its sung in bluegrass circles around the world. Thank you Fred Eaglesmith.

Orson Welles called me out when I was 5 years old for staring at him while he was talking to a lighting grip on a scaffolding while Orson and his crew were setting up to film the opening sequences of "In Touch Of Evil" that night on Venice Beach. "Why is that child staring at me?" Orson said to the crowd, then turned and disappeared into the night of Venice Beach!

George Thomas, one of the South's greatest general--who fought for the North! The Rock of Chickamauga was also known as the Sledge of Nashville; other Yankee generals had fought the Confederate Army of Tennessee, but it was Thomas at Nashville in December of 1864 who destroyed the army as a fighting force. Remants were added to units defending the Carolinas but the old force had virtually ceased to exist, arguably one of the best armies the Confederacy ever fielded.

Saw this scene as a small boy back home in Norway when it first aired in the eighties. It has always stayed with because it was the first time i realised what war entails. Thank you so much for the upload.
