What a great job you did with that $ 220 guitar and the guitar you used to copied the guitar I had never thought about ever playing or owning it but now I know different because of you breaking it down by you telling us about each part of the instrument thanks for that. I’m impressed with your results of the instrument you have rebuilt and how well it is performing. Keep up the good work and keep playing.
I think I like the peazo the best
They all sound good 🤷♂️
Man, those things are so cool!!!!!
Thank you Raymond, M~
Suggestions for the newbies doing their intonation: get your actions height where you want it before trying to perfect your intonation - changing the action can have a lot of impact. When pressing the string down to the 12th fret, take care to go straight down, and with no more pressure than needed to get a clean note. Pressing too hard, especially behind the fret rather than right on it, also impacts intonation. Great stuff as always Michael! 👍
Thanks, Good tips. M~
Love it slide would be great
Very nice tone and playing. Hearing it dry would be interesting.
Beautifully done mate
americans and their patriotism..as they casually ignore the millions of homeless, put up with school shootings, and die from curable and treatable health conditions... its mind boggling.
Its just a GUITAR, dude. 😎
I can't believe how incredibly guitar-like that actually sounds
So cool and swampy❤❤❤❤❤❤
I can see "Gator" McClusky creepin through the swamp, now. 😊
As with today's modern patriot, not playing with all the strings.
It has ALL the strings, because its a 3 string guitar. You can count, right?
We really need to find a cure for TDS. Trump 2024
That thing is way closer to a ukulele than a guitar. Ive seen quite a few of these actually and they all sounded like shit besides this one to be honest. Im sure the 25 inch scale length is a massive part of that thing staying in tune.
I'll stick with 6 strings
I like 6 stringers as well. 😎
You and this cigar box sound amazing !!!
Man, that sound is amazing. Playing too!! ❤🎉
The Chicken looks like the Aussie breakdancer
This guy is very talented. I love his sounds & his instruments sound awesome. At least when he playing them anyway.
VERY NICE!! Love it!
Thanks for this great vid! I'm about to build my third CBG out of a cookie tin. I'm excited to get building!
Thanks Rat, good luck with your build. M~
Great stuff Michael, as always. Guys like yourself and Del Puckett and Justin Johnson could tie a string on a cowpie and make it sound fantastic though!
Thanks brother, I appreciate that. M~
Links not working
Not sure what link your talking about.
Love your videos. What angle do you use on the head stock? Might try and build me a CBG.
Thanks Gary, its a 15' angle.
Had that rooster break dancing it was so good!
fab sound
❤❤❤❤
2 years late to the party but, I would have used a scroll saw to cut that headstock..
Hey Michael. Love your videos. Is the bridge free floating ?
Thanks Gary, Yes, it is a floating bridge. M~
Do you have a video lesson?
Yes I do, Somewhere in my Lessons Play list kzread.info/dash/bejne/Yn2Yptyeire7gLA.html
What a fun guy👍. I love these cigar box guitars. Totally unique down under where I live.
HIT IT!
We loat 2 roos last week as well as my Thanksgiving turkey that I caught wild by hand? We've got coons, possum, and fox.
What Guage strings did you use? What's the scale length? Thanks, I feel mine needs adjusted for open e
Strings are 040 030 022, and a 25'' scale. M~
Mine just came in from Amazon. Yes there is feed back but the rechargeable ability and the Bluetooth feature with some KZread blues backing track is super fun. I’m ordering another! Keep plucking
And I use it with a Lone wolf blues company mic. Just plug amp into mic and play the harmonica. I feel like a pro!
Thanks for the info!
Open G baby !!!
That came out Fing great. I’m thinking about stripping down my old black Squier and doing something like that and maybe a little upgrade somewhere like the tuners.
Nice work ! good music. regards Peter from Holland
I guess be thankful they don't steal Cigar Boxes too...
It is nice to hear them with the different pickups in different positions. I like the sound of that Patriot.
Thanks brother. M~
Just be glad its not a Bigfoot. Just kidding or am I.
I hear Bigfoot is a vegetarian. lol
oh you dint know? all the animals in your area call your place "popeyes" . . best chicken in 5 counties . . .
I think you're right LOL
Electric fence will keep most critters out. We have several raccoons roaming around at night in our neighborhood. Hope you have chicken wire on the bottom as well. Some critters will dig underneath.
Question! When you use floating bridge like you made here, does it move if your hand is anchored against it when you play for a while or is the pressure from the strings enough to keep it locked in place? Thanks!
Thanks, No it does not more. The string pressure holds it in place. M~
Crazy little thief.
I'll hafta learn that tune on my CBG! Dumb question...do the chickens go into thier roosts (or whatever they are called) by themselves? What is the process? Asking for a friend....definitely not a raccoon. Totally..🦝
Thanks. As soon as it starts getting dark, they ALL go into their fenced in coop area, and I seal the door for the night.
Hej thanks for putting in all the effort to show your work!! I think it all turned out great. Just a thought, I think I would dilute the yellow stain solution/suspension and also remove the parts just a bit earlier. Btw…..te stains much worst than coffee!
Built one very similar to the Patriot last summer for a St Jude auction. Wish I could attach a picture here!
That's awesome. M~
I'm surprised the birds woke up. At 0200 they're usually comatose. We've had our chickens assaulted by just about every critter out there, but the worst and most persistent are the 'coons. Three years ago I live trapped 21 over the summer by the henhouse and relocated them all to the state forest 5 miles away across the river. Are those all hens or was that first bird a rooster?
Persistent little bandit!
He is. He even wears a mask to hide his identity. 😉
