Interesting discussion points. To be fair though, I’m not sure we know the exact details Jesus’ DNA. Would stand to reason Mary would share in that; however, we don’t truly know how the Holy Spirit brought about forming the Lord in her womb. I think the church’s western scholastic tendencies can often lead to leaps in logic and as a result some questionable conclusions. Yes, Jesus was fully man and fully God. Do we know how that genetic process came about on a cellular level? No. Do we need to know that in order to have faith in Him? No.

Thank you for posting! This was very informative and helpful and I learned a lot! One small criticism: The photo Steve showed of the Palestinian girls 100 years ago at the well falls into the tremendous and ludicrous fallacy of assuming the people in a place in a more recent time are the same or similar to the people there hundreds or thousands of years ago, despite many, many migrations of new races and cultures that are often at odds with the original people and culture.
