I'm totally convinced that one of the guys in the band served on an Attack Boat in the Submarine Service in the U.S. Navy! The lyrics of the song "Up Periscope" are specific enough to make me think that.

I remember when they first started, Ian Brown and John Squire were interviewed on the music show 1990 and you hardly heard a peep from them.They hardly said anything.Just pure non chalant,it was cool.
