    Does it matter if one side of the strap isn’t even with the other side? One is facing underneath the buckle and the other on top?

    Hey! Is it possible for me to use and share this footage on my youtube page? I share footage from all kind of activities on our ocean. Cargo ships in the 1960s till now, oil rigs, fishing vessels, etc. Of course full credit will be given to the owner of the footage. Looking forward to your reply. Kind regards. Cheers.

    You can pull anything to failure. You present nothing here without data. I’ve seen 6th grade science fair demonstrations more conclusive than this.

    Yes as an engineer this is obvious that any knot especially in a plastic material will stress concentrate load, but how much strength is loss is what is crucial.

    there is big gap from headboard and first pallet, that causes all pallets to gather momentum energy when they hit headboard, Only idiot would load lorry like this. And good forklift driver would load IBCs (tanks) on front and small (low) pallets in back. No straps necessary at all. (ofcourse VOSA would require you to strap it anyway)

    is het ook mogelijk om de cordlash los te maken zonder los te snijden van het achtje om de band opnieuw te gebruiken bij een foute strap

  • @cordstrap
    @cordstrap8 жыл бұрын

    +Ludwin Stefania Bedankt voor je vraag Ludwin. Hierbij het antwoord van onze experts: Als tijdens het aanbrengen van de lashings een fout wordt gemaakt, is deze in sommige gevallen nog te herstellen door het band terug te voeren door het midden en dan met een klein rukje los te trekken. Dit gaat goed als het band losjes, d.w.z. met de hand is aangespannen. Mocht het met de hand niet lukken het band los te krijgen, dan kan dit met een spanner geprobeerd worden. Dit lukt in sommige gevallen, behalve als het band al volledig op spanning is gebracht. In het laatste geval zal het nodig zijn de lashings los te snijden. Het is wel mogelijk om daarna het band te 'verlengen' met een extra buckle. Zo kan worden bespaard dat de hele lashing opnieuw moet worden aangebracht, en hoeft er niet onnodig materiaal te worden weggegooid.

    While I am a strong advocate for proper freight securement, this is a great example of why a properly trained LTL driver would never leave empty space in front of his freight.

    WOW watching the video again, i think it is the extreme flexing of the ship from the rolls that break the cargo from its mooring. Look at 0:48 and start from like 0:44. The ship takes a massive downhill slide and the top section of the deck where the cargo is moored is rapidly elongated as the nose of the ship dives and the hull shortens. Then BAM rapid change in direction when the ship makes impact at the bottom of the trough. Bye bye cargo.

    eZ to laugh when it is not your 1 million dollars washed off the deck and into the sea. Tis why it is nicer to be a working class man than a big rich target.

    loads should not be place in the center, as is the most vulnerable place for loads to move or turn over, due to center of gravity.
