“I don’t know if my Hindu neighbour is going to fight to save my children.” - that is prejudice pure and simple. Whatever this movement is, it’s departed very far from authentic Christianity.

24:00 Yes must be culture shock for most native Texans to find themselves next to immigrant Indian family. They didn’t choose to move to Taxes because they want to be next to a white Christian family, but mostly because that’s where the big tech companies are moving to take tax incentives. As you know, Indians love IT and a lot of what you see is 1st generation migrants. We do adapt well to the American culture but we also hold true to our religious belief, although, not as strong as you’d find it in India. We do not preach conversion nor invite others to follow our practices. Our beliefs do not teach us that. All I sense in your statement is fear. Unreasonable that too.

Thanks Brian, that last part about God our Father has been a challenge I need to lean into. I have often felt like and said, “ if I was God I would have dropped a large Rock on me along time ago” false humility, uncontested sin, maybe. God’s love did transform me over forty years ago, that love and the power of the Gospel continue to transform me. Love what God is doing in places like Ogden and Moscow. And I love listening to you, Eric and Dan. Thanks again, and God’s continued blessings on His work in you and those around you.

It’s funny to me how lacking in “passion” these messages are. It’s clear that these words have no life in them. This is the same as those criticized by Christ for having whitewashed exteriors but being hollow inside. Breaking down the human being into so many bits (to sound and feel educated) but in reality, we are assembled into one object. We don’t address situations as a separate soul or body or mind, but as we are. Anyhow, in general, it’s so little real substance in an hour of talking.

Christian Nationalism is a terrible thing for Christianity. It is far closer to God to have a nation of Christians than to have a Christian nation. A nation of Christians are people who have freely associated themselves with Christ and a Christian nation is a nation of people who are beholden to whatever the government’s vision of Christianity is, and I don’t see any earthly kingdom being able to properly represent Christ. A Christian nation means that laws will be passed that require the official brand of Christianity be the only brand of Christianity. It means that the power of the state will compel people in how they will worship and what they will worship rather than what Joshua said where he and his house will serve the Lord. The United States is one of the few places on earth that has guaranteed absolute religious freedom, and for these pale imitations of Christians that preach Christian nationalism, I would like to remind them that Christianity flourished and grew in a place that was originally controlled by the Roman Empire. Some Christians think the way to conversion is to have a heavy-handed government what doctrine is permitted, rather than recognizing that true conversion only happens when people are given the freedom to choose for themselves. The United States guarantees in the first amendment that not only do you have the right to choose your beliefs, the government has no part in this decision. The nation has no part in this decision. And yet these people want to see that freedom stripped away. These people are incredibly anti-Christian whenever they preach a message of Christian nationalism. There is only one nation that God and Christ care about and that is the kingdom of God itself. All of this focus on worldly kingdoms is a misplaced gaze. Instead of looking toward heaven, they look toward earth and how they can reshape it in their idea of what God‘s image is. It is terribly sinful and terribly wrong.

The reason most professing Christians recoil at the assertion that America is a Christian nation is because most have been indoctrinated in government schools that have taught them that America has never been a Christian nation.

We don't want an Theocratic Autocracy. We started this country to separate church and state. And women aren't "weak vessels" ... how insulting. God gave us all a free will. You freedom ends where another's freedom begins. But we can all live by the Golden Rule, which is at the root of all religions.

  • @fyrdman2185

What are you talking about? The New England colonies of the Pilgrim Fathers was literally a Theocracy, that's how we started this country. Christianity does not teach "WASP Culture". Despite the benefits of Greek and Roman civilization. It's important to note that Jesus and his disciples were Mideast Judeans whose nation historically underwent persecution by Greek and Roman (European) civilizations. Jesus was nailed to a Roman cross by a Roman procurator. The disciples and apostles preached to ALL NATIONS in the Great Commission. Paul proclaims, there is neither Greek nor Jew, but all are one in Jesus Christ. You can make an argument against Islamic society or against criminal ELEMENTS of some societies, INCLUDING WASP society. But you can't rightly use Christianity to argue for WASP culture against Christian Arabs, Christian Mexicans per se. Peace.
