I show you different plastic model builds with great video tutorials on how I build them. Some models are great for beginners to learn from. From assembly, going through the paint scheme and laying out the decals. I go step by step to show you a great model build.

Cyano Acrylate or universally know as Super Glue, at least here in Australia, very nice work, The Spitfire 1 and 1a are my favourites.
@@potrzebieneuman4702 I think its superglue everywhere, expert when you read labels for gorilla glue and other stuff that actually have it as CA since super glue is a brand name.
Nice work, That looked challenging.
Really nice work with very delicate pieces. Well done! Great commentary too. See ya!
Thank you! See ya!
No offense meant but you need to work on your painting skills around the cockpit and canopy.
@@steveconkey7362 Everyone is at different skill levels. Im happy with my results. I build models for me, and no one else.
@@PlasticModelBuilder Evidently you build them to show off on youtube, so your not building just for you. Showing off sloppy painting skills won't build your channel. Peace.
I build so people can see how the model is assembled. As well, people can see my progress as a modeler. My videos are not for everyone and I'm fine with that. People watch mine for what i can achieve, and not what i can't achieve.
Nice start. This looks like a great kit, I like the close up view of the parts coming together. Cool idea cutting up the instrument panel decal, sometimes they just do not quite line up with the part.
Service module is what the command module sits on.
I was in the ballpark!
Nice job. Do you know if they ever made "light" decals that are white instead of black in color?
I have no clue, but I'm sure they could be custom ordered.
Nice look in the box, this will be a cool build series!
I hope you enjoy it. I love working with the PE parts of this kit. Challenging yet satisfyingly realistic looking.
I did the same thing you did. Just held it together and added a couple coats of glue over those wide seams. It worked out well. Same as you had to do a bit of sanding and filling. Only difference was I was building a 1989 kit that I had gotten off eBay. I really enjoyed this video.
Thanks for watching. I'm glad it was helpful
I was suspicious when I saw the first wing. THEN he said "I don't follow these instructions", I realized why the first wing looked the way it did, and stopped watching. I wanted to learn how to do it right, NOT to learn how to half-ass it for half-assed results.
The reason the first wing looked not as good was because I followed the instructions. That glue is designed to foil letters that occupy small areas. It isn't designed to occupy model airplanes in large sheets. You can follow the instructions. You'll get the exact results of the first wing.
Aftermarket makers pre cut the masks so why Tamiya doesn't is a mystery. The only real negative on this kit. Build came out looking great!
It is a great kit. Why they don't, i have no clue, but cutting them is fairly easy imo.
... it's R.M.S. (Royal Mail Ship) not U.S.S. :D ....sorry I had to. And a little bonus tip: if you cover the inside with tinfoil you will prevent light leakage on the upper decks. cheers ;)
I was in the ballpark. I got the Ship part right. I was thinking blackpaint too. But this was a good video for people to see it barebones assembley and what to expect.
Nice wrap up of the build series. It was fun to see this one come together.
Always a pleasure!
nice job how long did it take for you to build it?
A month and a half, off and on.
Suprised that you could front balance it with just 2 ball bearings.
3 bearings. One in the nose too.
Cones or spinners.
Tomato Tomato
Y yo pensaba que el B52 1/72 era grande....este lo superó
I have that one a well! Its going to get assembled and built eventually.
12:59 I can see the air bubbles under the decals. Did they not lay flat properly due to their age?
They weren't that old. The kit is still produced. The decals are rather large on some parts so that might affect it a little bit.
What colors did you use to get the camouflage grey?
Well mine is a concoction of incorrect colors. Mine appears more green than grey. I know it isn't accurate, but that's what I did. I think i used RLM green and whatever other color the instructions called for. Sorry I cant be of more help.
@@PlasticModelBuilder That's such a hard color to duplicate. I came very close one time starting off with flat black and flat white to get a dark grey shade. Then I added some "NATO brown" to lighten it up and give it that brownish tint. Still not great, but better than nothing! Thanks.
I tried but was missing the recommend color. Win some lose some.
The spotter planes that came with this kit are bi planes. Didnt Arizona have spotter planes with single wings at time of attack?
I have no clue what it had or didn't have. I just built the kit to do something different
@@PlasticModelBuilder I just bought the kit and noticed it. Was just wondering. The 1/200 scale trumpeter of Arizona has single wing spotter planes. Like to buy that kit but 300$ is a lot of money .
Yes that is expensive and a big scale too
I have not looked in a such a long time, but you have really progressed both in modelling skill and subscribers. Keep up the good work Ari!
I'm practicing. Always helps. Thanks for checking in.
What type of glue should you use?
Thin cement is less messy, but tube clue will have a great bond on the fuselage and wing joint areas. This is a big plane and heavy.
@@PlasticModelBuilder Thank you! I just bought this model and was wondering what glue!
Ouch .. I have put a fingerprint in prominent place like that too. So frustrating. This was a great in depth look at how the undercarriage and doors came together. I wish all landing gear doors attached this way. See ya next time
It was very easy they way they did it.
Nice video. Well put together ( no pun intended). This will be helpful for me and my son. This is the first model. I’ve done in a long time. We’re on a camping trip and about a month ago he busted his femur so he’s laid up in a wheelchair. We’re gonna be sitting on the sidelines putting together this plane. I appreciate the content.
Weight it down like the instructions say. I didn't do that so i needed the plastic piece
Such a crappy model, revelle should be ashamed
This novel was probably considered top notch when it came out. Its just old.
The polished panels on the nacelles allow the pilot to see that his gear is down.
Interesting. How did they know it was down on other aircraft?
It's a visual back-up to indicator lights on the instrument panel.
Nice job on the decals. I agree you get what you pay for, it is nice to be able to have nice kits, tools and materials. Makes them hobby fun instead of a chore.
Yes. Some kits are worth their weight in gold.
I’m starting this build without model background information, and I’m quite confused! I came here to ask about what types of glue you used, and what’s needed to help make it!
People often starting out use testors tube glue. However, thin cement is a liquid type in a square jar. It bonds quickly and is less messy than tube glue. You can use spray paint on this model if you choose. Make sure parts are clean for best adhesion. Use masking tape to to spray different colors. If you don't want a color to hit another color, mask it. Don't cut corners. This kit doesn't have to many decals. You should ideally use a gloss coat before decals. It gets less silvering. Join model groups on facebook. Mediocre model builders is a great one.
The P-38 had a V motor. Generally the only kits with visible motors standard are rotary. Usually V motors are after market for diorama. In my viewing and purchasing experience anywho An Allison V-1710 TBS, 1500hp at 3k rpm. It was also used in the airacobra, mustang and maybe the P-40?
Just subscribed to your channel...I'm building this model today as I watch your tutorial on it. Ty for the tips I've gotten so far...im at the instrument panel at the moment...this is a great plane and model to build ..definitely enjoying it so far.
It is a fun model to do. One of the better older kits from Revell. TLC can go a long way.
Looking good! It is fun when the color goes on and it finally starts to look like the real thing. I really like how you get such tight shots of assembly and painting .
I like how the olive drab seperates out so you get the light yellow streaks. More authentic in a way for use.
Beat Army!
My thoughts exactly!
Sir, your tires are glossy the should be matt.
Its ok. Its just a model. I'm not a stickler for that type of detail.
I applied with an airbrush the invasion stripes on the fuselage & the wings, they look more beautiful then the decals
They can also be hand painted since a lot were like that.
The cockpit windows should have small triangles on the corners of the front row. Can easily be added. Otherwise this is some serious vintage model. There will never be another, not by HK, not by Tamiya, not by anyone except RC pro's.
It is molds from the 60s that Revell has been using. I'm not that worried about it too care.
@@PlasticModelBuilder Yes it was Monogram. But from 1977 I think, I had it when it came out, with the diorama booklets and short story of the bomb (Oppy)
Nice in depth look at the nacelle construction. Thanks for showing your mistake ... I know what to watch for if I ever get around to this kit. See ya!
Its worth it to do for sure.
That's a great kit for a beginner!!! LOL I commend your resilience!!! Kudos!
I enjoyed trying to make it better than what it was.
Deecal or decal?😳 Jman
Deeeeecallll!
@@PlasticModelBuilder LMFAO 🤣
Very nice build! Camouflage is great!
Had to use the colors not recommended, and it worked out i think.
Looks great!
Thank you. Live got cut short. Had to go to an Oriole game...
Putting one of these big beauties together at the moment. Was helpful to hear your commentary and see you results. Alot of work here. Nice build. Cheers
Enjoy it! Lots of windows seam lines.
@@PlasticModelBuilder LOTS...and flash...and EPM`s !
Was it worth the time and money
1000% great kit.
Yep I know the feeling. I am working on a 32 scale Revell Hawker Hunter FGA-9. and it's been a long run. Started it a year ago. But some things happened in my life which caused delays. But Now I'm starting back in in it. I also had to strip off the original primer coat because it went down wrong. So that cost me further delays. The new prime coat is going and looks better.
Nice! I wanted to finish it but it didn't happen. I should tomorrow though.
It is starting to look like a p-38. I like the close up camera worrk, it is really immersive and feels like i built it. See ya next time
I love when others feel like they are building it! Thanks as always for watching
Lookin fire🔥🔥
Its a good one!
Very, very nice work! The fit looks incredibly good!
It was great and I recommend it. I imagine the J and H are also great since they are the same kit.
Love your work
Thank you for watching me build planes!
Interesting how that exhaust came out perfectly! When you were painting, it didn’t look like it was going to work, but it turned out amazing!
It is great to see it all come together isn't it! It gets easier everytime.
read the bags lol it`s easy
Score!!!🎉😊
Big time!
