Bus Driver Life

Welcome to Bus Driver Life!! My name is Keywan, and I have driven transit buses in Northern California (Sacramento) for the past nine years. Prior to that I was a school bus driver in Wisconsin for about eight years. My goal is that YOU get some insight and information regarding the life of a bus driver. I'll share with you why certain things happen the way they do on the bus and public transportation in general! Also, I'm extremely goofy, so don't mind me if I tell corny jokes and make weird facial expressions! Also I am a huge Batman fan! Have an awesome day!

Hmm, the first thing is that you have to know where your wheeles are, then you have to know how far back the end of the bus are, the third thing you have to know how far in front you kan drive before youre front wheeles hit the curb or as in norway, the drop comes, lol.

These Solaris'es are on every Corner here in Germany. I live in Erlangen for three Years now and i also saw some Turkish sounding Busses. They are quiet short and almost adorable. "Otokar Vectio C" (i googled it, and yes they are Turkish)

In Germany we drive Mercedes-Benz buses. With air conditioning, internet, several screens with passenger information for changing, electric ramps for wheelchairs, strollers, bicycles and much more. Not Isuzu? 🤣

I came into the job thinking I would be just driving, not really working, and getting compensated really well. Boy was I wrong. There is a ton of responsibility that comes with being a bus driver, and you are absolutely working the entire time. Except on the cake routes lol, but those are few and far between.

In all honesty, your bus might not be as modern, as the newer ones, but I like the layout. Yellow is not my colour and the seats are heinous, but as a passenger I really would not mind that much. German btw

Gospel of Jesus Christ John 3:16 For God So loved the world that he gave his only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not Perish but have Everlasting Life. Jesus Christ Died for the sin of the World, If you believe in ur heart God risen Jesus from the dead and confess him with ur mouth to people you shall be saved. Jesus said I Am The only way to heaven there is no other way! Repent of urs sins (Repent means Change ur Mind turning away from sinful things and being truly sorry for it.) trust Jesus and give ur life to him He Loves you cares about you more than anyone ever will! we are saved By Grace Trough Faith!,this is sin: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23 For all have sined and felt short of the Glory of God. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Romans 1:18‭-‬21‭, ‬23 KJV Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9‭-‬10 REPENT OR YOU WILL PERISH REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL GET RIGHT WITH GOD LORD JESUS CHRIST.

In my city, they use variants of those bendy buss you showed. Most of them are a single block, with no articulation, but we do have both variants. They are not that special, but they get the job done. I would call them mediocre at most, I've experienced a lot better when I long distance traveled between cities. Implying you guys have worse than that basic bus in the US is kinda frightening

Having to ride public transit is awful. I encountered another bus driver with a very bad attitude. Well, actually we had to encounter her quite a few times. Tonight she treated us just awful. I wanted to express something to her but she wouldn't let me, all she could do is mouth off at me saying mean things.

solaris bus you showed is a polish product. you will see a lot of these... i mean almost only those in major polish cities. some are ev's some have usb sockets under the seats, wireless charging i only saw on trains but we have bus stops that under the advertisment have usb sockets so you can charge while you wait for a bus too. i think those are very nice but we get a full spectrum. some are old and badly maintained and make 100 strange sounds everytime driver takes a turn, we have insane mirgrant bus drivers and some 'ideas' like you know - for example displays that show you where you are on the route that are sometimes designed in such a brainless fashion that they use regular HDD's and they are monuted basicly on the windows so all condesation from AC's goes inside and hdd's brake from constant vibrations so its no all beautfull all the time :) i mean that you go in to nice new all ev bus but all displays are showing errors becouse they can not load OS from hdd or the display itself its dying. here where i live we have a lot of nice buses but finding good people to drive them is a real problem

As a european busdriver I see big differences. Fewer cars on the road and more passengers on the bus, especially during morning rushhour . Commuters and college students. March 2025 I will retire after 38 years on the road, it's been great 😊

As a European (Slovene) I'll tell you this, I don't care what the buss looks like. If it's clean and on time it can be from the WW2 era, and it'll be fine. What I find interesting and unacceptable in the US is that everything is centred around cars, the infrastructure doesn't support mass transit use on a larger scale.

My friend ! I was a driver in Europe and later in North America! My friend! Technologically, city and long-distance buses in America and Canada come from a bygone era. Besides, Europe has its own producers, not Korean ones! Your example of a windshield split or not is absolutely asinine! As a driver, I prefer clear visibility, not a partition in the middle! As for the driver's seat, I will tell you one thing: driving an American or Canadian bus and driving a European or Asian bus is like driving a Soviet Lada or an American Cadillac! Moreover, the simplest example of the LFS system is the low floor system! To this day, we have buses in America where no person with a cane can get into a bus from the 1960s era!

I live in Toronto Canada and I rely on the TTC. The worst thing that I heard of happening on our busses were sexual assaults and one lady who was lit on fire by another passenger. She died in the hospital. The guy who set her on fire was declared insane by the court.

Self driving vehicles are a very scary thought. I totally sympathize with bus drivers using the bathroom or getting water to drink.
