There is a specific "groove" for the flathead screwdriver to put in position and twist/rotate it gently to pry the glass off. i.ibb.co/S6ZMGQM/mirror-captiva-antara.jpg

There should be a hole in the bottom of the mirror glass backing where you can get a screwdriver between the motor and the backing to pry it off without breaking the motor.

Hi mate , if your talking about those long white clips behind the mirror unit as on my video you have to buy the motor complete as in my clip. Unless you can find spare parts from somewhere... !

To remove the mirror without breaking it or the motor housing, Heat the mirror with a hair dryer for a minute or two and then undo the hooks behind the mirror with a hooked tool like an allen key.

I have done it myself, please be aware that is almost impossible to remove the mirror without breaking the plastic holder to fthe moving part. The wai it is assembled is done on purpose to be broken if you try to open it. Luckily, I was able to repair it, but was not easy at all. If you think that in order to replace the lamp of the headlight, you need to unscrew the complete headlight of the car, it is clear the the "do it yourself" isbecoming more and more complex....

This video helped me identify the parts i missing from my unit. I crashed the mirror on the side of a taxi and the mirror fell off with the plastic insert and the adjuster plastic units. GM here in South Africa only sells the mirror , but NOT the insert that goes into the mirror. I`m now in the process of cutting an insert from plastic and trying to make another insert from scratch ..... not easy ..... thanx for you video

Andre Bergh Hi mate glad it helped but good luck making the insert. I think it would still be better to buy unit from Korea maybe as if it's the part I think you mean it will be difficult to push mirror back on without breaking something again.

Our dealership here doesnt sell or have the part i need, just the glass. Did you order from a site , and if so , can you please reply with that website name. I will try another dealership , but i dont think their system will be different from the next one. I could not find much online when i tried a google search. I`m missing the part that clamps into the mirror with the small white pieces of plastic that goes into the mirror motors for adjustment. I do realize that the part is complex and it would be better to order if, if i can just find a place to order from...thanx

Andre Bergh Hi mate, I really don't think you can repair those parts as they have to be fitted each part at a time . They didn't care when designing the car , I'll have a look at my paperwork to see if I still have invoice with part number and place it here. Try to check in Australia from you There called Holdon GM , Chevrolet. If you check KZread Captiva the ausi ones you'll see them . Korea I'm sure will do them but it's the language problem , so Australia might be best or UK through Chevrolet UK just use your chassis number etc.

Hi mate , if you GOOGLE and put Chevrolet Philippines it will show there website , find and click the contact us link on the top of page . it will bring up an email page for your details and message , give them your car vin/ chassis number and year of car with any other details that help them . if your mirror is like mine then the part number in UK from korea is 95146223 which is left side mirror motor, you'll need complete motor like on my video . As long as the miorror is totally ok with no damage to the back it will fit ok . You could ring this Uk number 01727 811144 and push option for parts or speak to reception they gave an email which is vauxhall.stalbans@evanshalshaw . Put for parts department , they gave me a name Alex Page . Then put all details as above for your car . They maybe able to help if you pay for parts and delivery . Hope it works out .

Hi Angelo I actually came up with my own replacement for the part i lost by using perspex, hotglue and some radio control clevises with threaded rod. I salvaged a ball and socket from a cellphone handsfree kit that i had to rework to fit inbetween the plate and the motors. The perspex forms the baseplate. I must admit, to get it all together was not easy. I have not fitted it yet as i was pushed for time, but i will when i get home. I suspect that i might have problems with the length of the two adjuster motor shafts, but i will check and adjust that with a test mirror on the baseplate before i clip the real mirror back into place..... i will report back on my findings....cheers

If you check for old dealerships near your erea they will be able to order any parts . There's one in Luton another in St Albans and there was one in Cambridge . They are a bit expensive, just the Led mirror indicator £130- £150 then you will probably need the rear motor £40 ish . I did see indicator on ebay where it's cheaper but make sure it's correct one .
