NC native here. Went to school in the triangle area from 1997-01. Still rep anything from the Justus League!
You know your history! Accurate. While West Vs East. The south was cooking an underground movement.
This album is actually pretty great, kill the architect is my personal favorite tho
Im'a hafto go wit "Momma". Correction, "Clipse of Doom".
"Make'em NV"!
Radio was the first album that I ever bought. I copped it in 1985.Dope review. Thanks.
When they toured for this album, I went to the concert in Zurich, Switzerland. Before the concert they were all in front of the venue among the fans, Guru, Shug, Freddie Foxx, Hannibal, Afu Ra... All that was missing was Primo who was inside the bar. One of my favorite concerts, and one of my favorite albums.
Hell yeah buddy, nice choices. RIP Tame One from Artifacts, legend.
found cage while i was going through the def jux era. love the really dark and raw lyrical content. pretty inspiring that all that pain can be forged into something so beautiful.
I don't think we should call slug Caucasian . Anyway love the channel! Hope you review a Busta rhymes project at some point (Busta is one of my favourite rappers over dilla beats. especially that track with him and biggie)
I actually have a busta video written!! Coming in a couple weeks I would say! :D but I didn’t realize slug wasn’t fully white maybe I’m ignorant!

Thank you for the excellent review! This is one of my all time favorite albums, Hip Hop or otherwise. Listening to it in 2024 it sounds fresh and disturbingly relevant. Thematically, it’s unapologetically paranoid, untrusting of the mainstream media and government/s. And yet, it has a deep emotional and spiritual component mixed in with the reality reporting. And oh hey, the LP cover deserves its own review as it’s a masterpiece by Mear One of the C.B.S. crew.
2nd childhood is my favorite song from this album
Excited to dive into your content!
It's Cube's best album IMHO.
Really good review. Your vinyl must weigh a ton.
super curious to see who you think is a level above kayne (it’s no one) but great vid
Bro I need that Big L vinyl
Better be ready to spend some dumb money 💀 that’s one of those ones where I paid so much that I’ll be heated if it gets reissued
@@FromThe36thChamber that’s one record I love but somehow don’t have, where did you get it?
would love the video on battle rap. i’m not really tapped into that side of hip hop and that would be a great introduction.
Hell yeah! That’s some great motivation to finish that video I was struggling to narrow it down to just 50 so maybe I’ll try to make it a series or something!
@@FromThe36thChamber that would be dope. thanks for the vids. you’ve expanded my knowledge of rap so much over the past few months.
hell yes, been wondering if you’d do this one
Super underrated! Don’t you worry I have soooo many classics in the tuck! Thanks for the support!
O SOLO!!! You just unlocked memories broooo. I’m finna go watch rn.
He’s had some awesome battles this year!

Shakey Dogs my favorite track on this album
"rewind" is crazy!
I never get over it
Madvillainy @ no. 1
Business As Usual is another dope album from EPMD. Rampage, Manslaughter, Gold Digger, Outta Control, Mr Bozack, Funky Piano, Hardcore, Underground are all fire. A top 10 group in hip hop.
Excellent list
Goodie Mob on Soul Food was reacting to the same material as Ras Kass. In 97, The Boogiemonsters God Sound went depressingly dark doing the same thing. Ras Kass was the talented atheist in a cresting underground rap movement.
real
🔥🔥🔥🔥

So true, 'Dance With The Devil' is a timeless record. First heard it when I was around 12 and it still sounds as groundbreaking as it was at the time. Just took you into a such a dark world and although the unthinkable happens, he makes it sound realistic. That was terrifying when I was a youngin' lol
“Everything that glitters ain’t fishscale” -MF DOOM
One of my top 10 of all time. Their Oneirology from 2011 is up there as well and might just be tied with this one here. Back to back with The Cool you're doing part of my top 10.
Love Oneieology as well!! Actually might have been my introduction to them
Great review! I've had streets on fire on repeat for fucking years now Curious, as someone who got into lupe through his newer projects and went back (T&Y, Drogas Wave) what do you think of his projects post lasers
Mystic Stylez is most definitely my favorite album of all time its just perfect from the album cover to the songs i have zero skips on that album and its fucking rare. Im a big fan of Memphis rap in general and im pretty sure i have listened to 99% of Memphis underground artists at this point since even artists with practically zero exposure can produce such good albums but anyways Mystic Stylez will still remain always supreme to me.
3/6 has over 100 CDs mane Memphis Jay Capone mane
This is imo a top 10 hip hop album of all time!
I may have to agree! Absolute masterpiece
I Agree
@@FromThe36thChamber I’d also love to see in the future a video of your top 10 albums of all time and emcees etc!
@@loutz9603 Thanks for the suggestion, great idea! I actually had just been considering doing a video like that so I'll definitely get that in the works!
Favorite album of all time right here
all 🔥🔥🔥!
My 3 favorite tracks on this one are Gold Digger, Rampage and Funky Piano. This was a dope project no doubt and I'd say both Gold Digger and Rampage are in my top 5 EPMD joints of all time. But I'd still rate this the weakest of their 1st four LP's due to inconsistency in the track quality.
