War is hell. I wonder how he feels about all the atrocities and torture committed by the Japanese? My father was a Naval aviator in WWII stationed on Saipan. He had fought his way across the Pacific and was among the first Americans to occupy Japan after the bomb was dropped. If we had not dropped the bomb, he very well may have died trying to take Japan, and I may not be alive today. I remember him telling me the Japanese people were terrified of him because of all the propaganda they had been fed about how evil Americans were and that they would be tortured and killed if we won the war. It’s easy to second guess very difficult decisions made during the greatest conflict in the history of the world 60 years later. I believe it was the right decision and am grateful to be alive today because of it.

and heres why the premise that the russians invading manchuria is what really ended the war is utterly absurd. the military clique ruling japan had no intention of ending the war until it had forced the usa to invade so as to inflict so many casualties that the usa would be forced to sign a negotiated peace favorable to japan. so for the premise it was the russians to be true you would have to maintain it was the fear of the russian invasion who had little amphibious experience and little amphibious infrastructure while simultaneously trying to force the worlds premier amphibious operations military (the usa) with the largest amphibious infrastructure literally in human history. utter nonsense.

when this whole revisionist thing was kicking off in the 1980s i aske my friend and mentor what he thought about the dropping of the bombs. i figured his opinion was particularly poignant because he was a navy AA gunner on an LST (landing ship, tank. a juicy target during an invasion) on okinawa making preparations for the invasion of japan and his life was possibly one of those saved by the bomb. he said; "i fell down and wept like a baby. because no i knew i would survive the war and get to go home and make love to me beautiful wife again."

What’s with his pronunciation of the word “distraught”? He said it like there was a “th” sound at the end. Distraug-TH. I’ve heard people mispronouncing the word “height” in a similar way - like there is a “th” at the end of the word instead of “ht”. But I’ve never ever heard any other words spelt in a similar was pronounced like this. It’s like saying - I went to the store and I boug-TH some milk and I thoug-TH it was really expensive. I became distraug-TH at the prices. Ahhhhhhhh it - ght NOT gth Why? Just why? I understand when it’s a second language situation, but it might have been kind of the producers could have let him know, and the recorded his voiceover one more time. He’s such a great officer and human being. It’s the least they could have done. Ok, I’m done ranting about this. Phew, I don’t know why things like this get me so worked up. I don’t like being this way, I really don’t. But sometimes, it all comes busting outta me and I can’t stop myself. I even think that I’ve commented on this video before....and about the exact same ridiculous thing. Sheesh get over it already and stop being so bloody pedantic about little things like this. 🙄

They've finally figured out that it isn't a "Devil Weed". Cops can't be happy. It was a "Cash Cow". The guy that was living in the interior in Lytton isn't living there now. Nobody is living there now. Making it illegal led to the death of that young person. The police have his blood on their hands as well.

Obviously if it’s a guilty person I would want that evidence to be used. The problem I have is that once the police broke the rules they’ve made it an unfair trial. He might well be totally guilty and a complete disgrace but it’s hard to trust that because of their actions. Especially when they don’t get their way and then use the illegally obtained evidence just because he’s exercising his legal rights. I honestly do wonder if that tissue was even obtained the way they have described. They obviously all wanted to get him really bad and probably felt guilty because they had fucked it up so do I believe he’s innocent…no; do I think it’s possible…maybe yeah. That’s the problem for me with this one. Imagine being 17, the police just do whatever they want without permission, then you follow your lawyers advice and the court then uses evidence which was obtained illegally by their own admission and much of the DNA evidence was in its infancy, they wanted to pin it on him. The mother for some reason that’s never explained simply tells them exactly what happened rather than hold onto hope of finding her daughter like most people do. Who would just assume that exact scenario immediately. Did they have previous reasons to suspect him? If so, why did the mother not stop her daughter from going out that night. It’s so strange. Who’s daughter goes missing and the mum is like “yep, this exact guy raped and killed her…oh and the body is definitely in the river”. Straight to that? Not…maybe she’s alive?
