Is it considered a faux pas at all to use those metal tools directly on the rock? If many people do that, it will wear down the rock face and it will never be the same for any future climbers.

Such an amazing line! How endurance heavy do you reckon the route is? It looks like the crux is at the start, but those granite aretes like the one at the top can be super tricky as well.

At 3800 the crux is that you run out of breath/energy way faster than down in the valley.
@Landolini2 жыл бұрын
@@molomono9481 I'm aware of that. I've been there before. That is of course an external factor that deserves some respect, but I was asking about the crux in terms of climbing moves.
@victorvaroshkin26482 жыл бұрын
To me the boulder at the base felt like a 7a, followed by a nice rest with a knee bar and 7a+/b route above. Truly the crux was catching my breath all the way up though I had been guiding in the massif for more than 3 months already, including 5 summits of Mont Blanc and countless nights above 3600m a.s.l.
@Landolini2 жыл бұрын
@@victorvaroshkin2648 thanks for the reply dude! I haven't done any climbing above 7a at that altitude, but if you're saying that with your vast experience it might really come down to catching your breath. Have you done digital crack as well?
@victorvaroshkin26482 жыл бұрын
@@Landolini Just one try but didn't like the extremely sharp holds. Also the climb is an ordinary slab climbing that I didn't find as interesting as this aesthetic edge. :) Probably I will try it at some point in the future again.
