Thank you for sharing. Happy I found this. I am trying to make a decision on whether to proceed or not with cataract surgery on my almost 15 year Shih-tzu. She has a mature cataract in her right eye and a middle sized one in her left. Doctor said due to her age, if I choose surgery, best to do both eyes. I was wondering how to feed her with the cone of shame, you answered that one. Hope all went well with you dog.

Hey Katherine! Was waiting to see this post trip report. Sounds like you had your ups, downs and in-betweens on your EF Ultimate Break Patagonia tour. But overall, a very fun experience! Glad you enjoyed your trip. I agree on your comparison with Europe: some parts of the world have way more English speakers and are easier to plan yourself than others. That phone story does sound shocking. I remember you mentioning it during your series. Glad you didn't lose it. Note to self, get a strap or pop socket for my own phone before vacations! Argentina is one of my bucket list destinations, and I've been reading the inflation rate issues they've been dealing with. Cash is still king it seems, so American and maybe exchanging some money before you arrive might be the way to go. I've also heard that Western Union is pretty popular to use in South America. Did you see them in Chile and your other South America trips as well, or was it more obviously visible in Argentina? Thanks for giving your thoughts, Katherine. Looking forward to seeing your adventures in Argentina, including the Uruguay boat ride you mentioned, and your Antarctica cruise. Take care and have a great week! 👍😀

Hey Katherine. You finally made it to Buenos Aires! ... Was that Minecraft on your TV in the hotel? That's amazing Sounds like you had a great time seeing the beautiful bookstore and going on the bike and cemetery tours, minus the mosquitoes. That tango/musical performance looked fun too. I can imagine having those insects biting all the time was absolutely nerve-wracking and painful. Luckily you (hopefully) got some relief in that cream you bought. I'd love to see a video on what are your favorite websites/companies to book day tours on when you solo travel. If you're up for a challenge, there's loads of group tour companies who offer biking trips across countries. G Adventures and Intrepid come to mind, although I believe Contiki has a few as well. Hope you have fun on the Uruguay boat tour! Enjoy the rest of your time in Argentina and see you in the next one! 😃👍

The UN did not create a tourist area. When i was statione in the DMZ there was one bridge over the Imjin, with one place where tourist to go. The could not see N. Korea. Since we patrolled in the winter, spring thru fall we would go south of the river to train.

I know this is a 2 month old video, but regardless I wanted to leave a comment here. I can't believe you've already been to so many countries! I've traveled a bit and I've only been to like, 13 outside of the US. Would love to double that list by 2030! (giving myself a little bit of leeway on the years there lol) I do hope that eventually that Russia will be safe to come back to again. I've been there several times (Russian background here as well, have family there, used to go frequently to see them and took some tours with some American friends a few times who wanted to see it years ago, though it wasn't anything special - Moscow and St. Petersburg only. But for first timers, it's beautiful and the white nights are gorgeous in St.Petersburg) and I can't go back now due to the unfortunate ongoing current situation, though I'd like to when it stops and places (tour agencies, etc) and people are open to going there again. It is beautiful, despite the government and how they act. Outside of that, do you have any recommendations for people who don't quality for Ultimate Break or Contiki because they might not be in that advertised age range? / have you taken tours with any other companies?

Hello! Thank you for the kind comment! I’ve also travelled with Top Deck a little and liked them but as for tours for all ranges EF actually had a branch called EF Go Ahead and I plan on traveling with them once I age out of Ultimate Break. Great job, Katherine! 11 miles and 1500 calories, uphill and downhill, is no joke! Kudos to the achievement. You definitely earned that Coke Zero! FOMO has such a negative impact on people's enjoyment of their trips, and can make any trip feel lesser. But listening to your body and knowing your limits is so much more important. And there's nothing to feel bad about after hiking for that long through multiple terrains and beautiful sights with a big, albeit tired, smile 👍 Just a question: do you have an arm strap for your phone when you're filming? I think you mentioned that your camera comes with a neck strap, but I can imagine filming in 1 hand on uneven terrain while keeping your balance can be a struggle. Can't wait for part 6 in Buenos Aires. Hope you're having fun in Argentina and that you have fun on your Antarctica cruise! Take care 😃

Thank you for your kind comment! It was definitely an intense but rewarding hike for sure! I don’t have an arm strap for my phone, which can be difficult to film things. I’m still learning how best to film with my phone especially since it’s less awkward talking to your phone then a camera in public haha. Thank you for continuing to watch my travels!!

Hey Katherine. And here we are in Argentina, country #60 of your travel journey. Wow- a nice dinner, Tango show and secret musical performance all rolled into one. Talk about a welcome to El Calafate, Argentina for you and your group. We switch over to Perito Moreno glacier in the national park. Very beautiful. Most people don't think of glaciers as anything but white and translucent, and yet you've shown 2 with that distinct Arctic/Antarctic ice colour during your trip. Also, those gripons were quite something. Up here in CAN we have ones similar to the pair you've bought, but never one that give you an extra 2 inches in height. I can imagine trying to hike around in them, on a glacier, in fear of falling, getting wet or slipping while going downhill would be quite an ordeal. I suppose it would make the most sense to have a travel day followed by an activity day. ANd to top it off, ice cream and memorabilia shopping. Keep up the great work, Katherine! Looking forward to seeing what other adventures you get up to in Argentina 😃👍 Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Hey Katherine! Nice new update. Hoping your roommate is feeling better. Yeah, I can imagine after walking 28000 steps you'd be dead tired- let alone travelling to another country just a day later. Milodon cave bringing in the prehistory with Megatherium. Saw some more prehistoric facts while you were walking along the lake, but what a view. Lakes, snow-peaked mountains, a blue iceberg, the greenery and wildlife of Patagonia. Very beautiful and picturesque. That was nice of your guide to get you a pin to add to your collection. And you've officially gone to 60 countries by 30, so congratulations! Looking forward to seeing what the Argentina (bucket list destination for me) portion of your tour has in store. Enjoy yourself and have a great week!👍😃

Hey Katherine! So the tour has begun. And what a way to start- staying one day in familiar Santiago for people to arrive, and then flying all the way down towards the southern most point on the globe, Punta Arenas. Seeing all those arrows pointing to different parts of the world (including parts of Canada) was pretty cool, as was the birds flocking on the Atlantic/Pacific meeting beach. Those plates and magnet look like great keepsakes. Must have been a whirlwind going from super hot to cold and rainy in less than 24 hours. I suppose it's the opposite to us North Americans- the further south you go in Chile, the colder it gets! I actually just checked it; turns out Santiago and Punta Arenas are further in distance (~1362 miles) than New York City and Havana, Cuba! No wonder the weather's so different. Great video. Looking forward to seeing the next adventure on your EF Ultimate Break Patagonia tour. Enjoy yourself and have a great Easter! 👍😃

Wow thank you for your kind and in-depth comment! That is crazy that Santiago and Punta Arenas are further apart than New York and Havana! Thank you for that perspective! It's crazy given its in the same country but it makes sense as Chile has the longest coastline in the world.
