Hi , I am new to the you tube world and social media in general but I am not new to the DIY world, I have been around crafts my entire life, it's how my mother and I bonded ..she was the art director for the summer camp, so glue and glitter and construction paper was a constant in my life. As I got older and started my own family, our budget wasn't very big for home decor .. and there is nothing that I love more than interior design ..so I learned ways to upcylcle items from the thrift store or from my own home to give it a new look..mostly with paint. My husband and I restored a home built in 1847 from 2003- 2016 .. it is on this journey that I really ,really found myself , now that my kids are older I am turning my talent and passion to help and inspire others , I do custom design services, I paint cabinets and furniture and I hold craft workshops featuring the paint line that I sell ,DIY Clay paint, designed by Debis design diary .. I hope you follow me on my new journey

You do fanatic work. I subscribed and I hope all is well and that you return with your great tutorials.
Pls post or pm product list! Thank you! Great job!
Great video I like the look. I’m wondering how chalk paint would work. Do you ever use the Annie Sloan paint?
This is a great video except it's really hard to clearly see the finished look so I can not determine if I want to do it. It looks good as you go but there isn't a good finish shot. There is glare and it just looks grey.
Looks like you know what you are doing, please take more time on the finish pic for us it’s so fast i don’t know if I like it or not.
Can you confirm that you did NO SANDING???? How will the chairs wear? This is beautiful and seems .... to easy??? .... is there a trick? And lastly - could you provide/pin the paints used? like others have requsted?? Thanks from your newest subscriber lol
I promise no sanding with the right kind of paint and proper prep you do not need to sand . And with a topcoat it should last a long long time,
When a pot is going to be outside, is there a protective coating of some kind that needs to be applied?
Yes, Debi's Design Diary DIY clay paint does not withstand the rainy weather from my experience. You will need to use a clear or matte outdoor polyurethane product. Chalk paint does do well in wet weather, tho.
I think she wins a prize the only women in this craft field that speaks normal: All others cannot stop talking: Thanks for yr humility!
lol thank you .. I like to get right to the point !!
Her perfect manipulation of the clay in the mould:
Why not degrease before sanding? I'd imagine the sandpaper being clogged with grease right away.
Nice! What brand are these paint?
Thank you for showing this! I'm a newbie! If my clear wax looks blotchy on my piece, what am I doing wrong?
I have a dark paneling and am wondering does it matter the paneling color if you use the gray base?
yes that should work , you may need two coats
Can porcelain countertops be painted? I do have grout lines and wonder how paint would hold up.
I have never done, it .. I honestly would probably use a primer and then an acrylic based paint, like Fusion or a cabinet paint from your local paint store..and then topcoat it with a non yellowing topcoat .. ny favorite is dream coat by Daydream Apothecary Paint ... I wouldn't use A chalk or clay paint on such a used surface
Thanks kindly ... I'm waxing with my fave diy as we speak. You are lovely and doing a great job live!
Oh thank you! I haven't posted in a very long time , I need to get back at it
Beautiful! tyfs honey
I loved this video. I’m a new subscriber. I know what kind of paint to buy if I start painting furniture. Thank you
I don't see the point, still looks like stone, she forgot to tape the light switches and sprayed the cleaning chemical all over. I am sorry but not impressed at all
But.. they didn’t want to change the appearance of stone, they just wanted to change the color. Also who cares, she cleaned the light switches for them. Not that big of a deal.
oh man I am sorry you aren't impressed Karen .. its a good thing my paying customer was , I don't have to tape the light fixtures because I have a steady hand
thank you for coming to my defense ..some people just absolutely suck ..lets see her make a video ..miserable troll
Nah, I am fine, you must be a Walmart Decorator!!! The Mediocre just like the poor, always stick together!!!
@@javierchacone Jesus Christ dude. Just relax. Why do you have a stick up your ass about this? There are more important things to do with your day than leave negativity on a video. Go on and preferably have a positive day.
As Bob Ross would say "two hairs and some air!" 😂 Love this!
Hi
Just beautiful! Do you seal the inside? Thank you
Yes I do!
thank you so much. I am running out of funds on my home remodel and this a cheap crafty solution for the ugly wood panel in my home.
Are there any issue when needing to clean or can you mop or steam as normal ?
no issues with mopping , although I do paint them again every year to make them look fresh , next time I am going to polly the top to give it more of a shine and keep the dirt off easier
This could have been a great video. I havent seen this approach before. More time on every step after the paint would have been nice.
I get it and thank you for your feedback .. I am not a professional filmmaker and this content is free
So pretty! Would these paints work well on a resin garden sculpture, or could you recommend a specific product to use. Thank you
The DIY paints work amazing on everything. You would have to seal it with us outdoors or marine grade sealer though if it will be in a garden. Search YT for Debi’s DIY Paint and you’ll find a ton of great tutorials.
Yes, absolutely just seal it after
Could this paint be used on a travertine marble floor, then sealed?
its been a few years since this video and although it works great on a backsplash..... for a floor I would use a porch and floor paint or an acrylic based paint like fusion , you would just need to prime first
I want to paint ceramic tiles over the bathroom sink and counter? I’m concerned about the steamy moisture in the air over time. Will the DYI paint last?
use an acrylic based paint like Fusion
Is the buffing brush only used with certain paints of certain waxes or finishes? What do I search for to get one? Thanks girl!
its typically used with a chalk paint covered in a wax , paint pixie has a nice one
What color of grey
it was such a long time ago, I am sorry I don't remember ..but honestly I have created the same look with black and white paint mixed
How and what did you seal it with? Thanks for sharing. Love it !
Hi just water based spray would work
@@MillersCrossingDesign thanks!
One of those can sprays: spray and dry in between 2-3 times: Ask the hardware for polyurethane adhesive for outdoor use: again several coats if concerned:
Our wall panel is like that color you’re painting it.. And our cat scratched one of the crevices chipping finish off, Just like to get a touchup of that I don’t know how to go about it
This is beautiful!
thank you very much
i thought flat paint was not washable did i miss something?
OMG!!!! FINALLY SOMEONE THAT PAINTS LIKE ME!!!! STUNNING! CONGRATS!!! 🥰
thank you very much !
I love your work. Can you post the colors that you used?
sandy blond and prairie gray by DIY clay paint, I think the green was Monets Garden by DIY clay Paint with black wax
I love your tutorials. ;)
Thank you!
A wholesome person...thanks!
Beautiful!! Will this paint work on tumble travertine tile?
Yes it will
Nice videokzread.info
Will this work on glazed tile?
yes
Does this work with fake paneling or faux paneling that is in the old houses
yes any paneling
Can I get the name and brands of all the products you used please? Looks great!
I am sorry I didn't see this .. DIY clay paint In prairie gray , sandy blonde and brown wax ..but any taupe and light tan would acheive the same look
Could I have the names of all the products you used and their color names please? Thank you! Looks great!
Dang girl 🔥 legit skills
thank you
Oh my gosh I just came across this and it’s fabulous of course... but I did a backsplash video just last month and of course I’m terrified now that if you saw it or a post about it, you’ll think I copied right off of this one !! 😢😢😅😖😖 I didn’t - love you!
I would never think that
@@MillersCrossingDesign I’m a goober. And I fell for the old “You need to worry about this” lie! 🙈❤️
Can I use this grey on a cherry wood dresser without doing the sanding and stripping?
if you use a chalk/clay paint or a paint with a built in primer
@@MillersCrossingDesign will it give me the RH look though?
Hi greatjob on this! I am going to start the task of painting my tile backsplash on my fireplace surround.. I want a white wash beachy color to it. Just bought the vintage linen color...would that be a good color choice? I do not want a stark white but could not decide between be"bead board and vintage linen". Also should I use part water to this paint to "white wash"it a bit? thanks so much for this video!!!
vintage linen is a great color , yes water form until it’s soup consistency
Hi just watched your tile backsplash video using this paint. Any color recommendations if I wanted to do a "white wash" over some tile. I just bought the "vintage linen" color. Would you recommend I use water with it to give a light wash of color? TY!!!
yes sorry fo the late reply
How much on average would this cost someone to have you do this to a livingroom
I charged around $2500.00
What are chip brushes?
Cheap, throw away, wood handled brushes with coarse natural fiber bristles. They work great for faux wood projects and oil based stains. If you go to your local Sherwin Williams ask them for a chip brush and they'll know EXACTLY what you mean :)
