2:00 I don't see this ever working. Why would you expect to deliver 4 blocks+strikes before they have finished 1 punch? Why would an enemy stand there with their arm out while you deliver strikes to their arm and then bend them over? If you are that much faster than them you could do virtually anything. Steal their belt, tie their laces together You won't usually know a punch happened until after You're supposed to deliver all of this before the opponent has finished their punch? It's not going to work...

Wushu/Sanda is what Kung Fu was developed to have you think is the real history of china. When Wushu/Sanda is the true development of chinese martial arts. Kung fu was developed and organized much later to redirect your focus to a more commercialized version of Chinese Martial Arts, mostly centered for western audiences. Unfortuantely, Sanda today, has become so much of a blend of modern martial arts, its no longer much of any particular style at all, but a complete mix. I studied Wushu and was enamored by tge traditional forms and stances and acrobatics. Which i still feel the true essence of china exists. Today, Sanda competitions accept Kung-fu fighters in recent times. Which i feel is a hijacking of the sport and art of San Shou Sanda. As the kung-fu associations and competitions arent as organized and sophisticated as the Wushu/Sanda organizations and competitions. Its probably why the Olympics has been postponing Sanda/Wushu from being part of the Olympics. Probabky because the kung-fu association wants to conflate itself with Wushu and be advertised as such. Which would ruin Wushu/Sanda in my opinion. As i dont look at Kung-Fu as an original chinese invention. But mire of a marketing stunt for westerners attached to whats on the screen.

Before I met Si-Hing Lloyd and ultimately, you I had been training with my uncle. I trained with him on and off while you were still off Horseblock rd. When the time came to start weapons training he asked me which weapon I wanted to learn first. I already knew what I wanted to learn, the Tonfa. One of the most practical and usable weapons in my opinion at the time. He then sat down. And thought for a bit. Then he said "No." You need to learn the staff first. I asked why and what you explained at the beginning of this video is what he told me. That learning the staff first would open me up to everything else I wanted to learn. When he asked me why I chose Tonfa, I told him I wanted a weapon that I could carry on me legally without issue. And back then you were legally allowed a T-Bar aka single Tonfa. I then seconded Escrima sticks. He was a master with the sticks and I was dying to learn them as they too are very easy to carry. As I became older, after learning these weapons I realized that if I had learned those Tonfa first I might have used them on someone. I also realized that my bare hands were the focus of my training and as fun as weapons and improvised weapons are, the reason for me to learn them was so I could counter them with my bare hands. As I recall it I remember why it was important to have someone guiding me correctly. This is one of the foremost reasons I back you as a Sifu and as a mentor.
