    I have three banded blinds from 2018 with the battery pack for 12 alkalines. I emailed HD asking if there was a way to upgrade. The response I received earlier today said that the kits were available to retrofit the battery packs. But they went on to say the mount cannot be installed behind the headrail after production. That I need to find a place around the window to mount the dock and run the extension cable. I came to you searching to understand what the mount and extension cable look like and if this would work on my patio windows (3 blinds across). Is that piece you attached with the drill the mount and is the small cord that plugged into the alkaline pack the same cord plugging into the lithium pack? Its not a huge extension cord? Honestly, I feel relieved if this is all it is. I thought maybe what I wanted couldn't be done, but your video has given me hope.

    @PaulKempler, many thanks for your help in both the KZread video and when I called in. I never would have imagined getting an answer to my query as quickly as I did. I am very pleased the retrofit kit will work and I can make the switch over to lithium rechargeable with ease. Having both the older blinds with alkalines and newer Silhouettes with rechargeable, I knew I wanted to convert the older ones. You made my day.

    I like the metal fascia's but cannot decide what color to pick. My window trim is bronze (dark brown) and my roller shades are white. Any advice on which color would work best? Should fascia match window frames or the color of the blinds?

    Do you happen to have any demos showing these cellular shades with the retractable wand, per chance? Is it even possible with this type of shade?

  • @PaulKempler
    @PaulKempler3 ай бұрын

    Yes, currently you can do DuoLite with the UltraGlide, or retractable wand. It might be ending on May 31st, but I’m still researching that one. Here is a link to a video that shows essentially how it works. I will post it in the following comment.

    Hello! We have sagging slats and don't know how to fix that. It only happens to a couple of slats and only on one side. Seems the nylon monofilament is not quite pulling the slats up enough. Would appreciate any solutions you may have.

    I have a question plz. I just moved into an apartment with the old style sliding door with the vertical slat blinds. I have 2 sliding doors. One is in my bedroom and I am at a loss as to completely cover the top, sides and bottom to keep the light out. Any help would be fantastic. Thx

  • @PaulKempler
    @PaulKempler4 ай бұрын

    Sorry for the late reply. You have a challenge to handle on this one. Since it is an apartment, I’m not sure what regulations there are to change window coverings. Vertical blinds have limited ability to create room darkening. Are you looking for a simple solution or a complete re-do of the window treatments that are there? I don’t want to give you suggestions until we talk. I’d like to set up a live chat that I will record and then share with others with the same question. If you are willing to do that, then let’s set it up. It will be like a podcast interview. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

  • @PaulKempler

    The answer to that question has to do with the mechanisms that are used. If you contact us at www.kemplerdesign.com we can assist you with it.

    I'm in the exploration phase. Please compare prices of the Norman Smart Drape and the Hunter Douglas Luminette. TX.

  • @PaulKempler
    @PaulKempler5 ай бұрын

    Hi, I saw from your other comment that you are trying to find the right solution for your patio door. The Smart Drape tends to be a lower cost option than the Luminette, but they are different. The way that we work is to do interactive design with our clients. By working this way, we help them to get exactly what works for them at the cost that they are willing to work with. Honestly, the window covering industry has changed so much over the last few decades. They have created true premium products and they are about integration with technology. If you want to have a phone chat, just go to our website for our phone number. We can talk and I can try to offer you some feedback if you’d like it. In the end, we’d love to be able to provide you with the perfect shade and also with the installation. We do provide that for people all over the country. Let me know. :)

    Paul, you always do amazing work my friend. The Graber Virtual Design App is a great tool for showing renderings off how the products will look on their windows and doors. They recently announced that you will be able to stack drapery on top of shades, shutters, and blinds soon. In the meantime, you can save the screen shot with the Romans and then start over putting the drapery on top of that photo. I’m sure you know this already, but thought it would help others.
