Whenever someone claims a movie like Nope is more sci-fi than horror I always have to wonder if people understand what horror is. Not trying to be ridiculously rude. Just an observation. The only thing sci-fi about the movie is that it's possibly an alien. The suspense of not knowing what is happening. Disturbing scene as Jean Jacket ingests its food, the blood rain, the jump scares. All horror. If it were looking at the ocean rather than the sky, and the alien was a monster shark, like Jaws, would you consider it sci-fi? I mean, a great white shark feeding on people as it does in Jaws is not really non-fiction. It's almost science fiction. Jean Jacket can represent anything from the horror genre. Say a werewolf. Vampire. Zombie. Just because it's a flying saucer and its possible origins are outer space, that doesn't mean it's more sci-fi than horror. It's an eating machine. The movie is more directed towards the horror of the situation rather than other worldly investigation. I do consider it a sci-fi/horror/neo-western. So I admit that it has an element of that genre. Just not enough to consider it sci-fi over horror.

Agree that the plot is too convoluted and too much going on to follow clearly. I loved Johnny Depp in this - he was awesome and pretty much the only character I gave a damn about. Wouldn't have made it through the whole film if not for him. Mickey Rourke and Willem Dafoe totally wasted.

I love this movie, but I do agree with you that it’s pretty bare bones. I don’t think Norman Reeds is the best actor, but I do think he gets the job done. There is definitely a lot of yelling in the movie and I think that’s a fair critique. This is a cult classic. Willem Dafoe really makes this movie and is so intelligent and also the comic relief. You’re right that Rocco is an idiot, but he’s there idiot and they know it, lol. I do like that you address what most people won’t, they’re fanatical and crazy. As displayed at the end of the movie, people have a lot of different feelings about them, and it’s definitely a mixed opinion. Great reaction, and I quite like the movie, but I also like your honest reaction and not just going along with what others think about something.

Hi, I just stumbled upon your video! I'm from Argentina. I know its a year later but when he says at 7:08 "¿Sabés que sos un negro resentido?" he's not saying "You motherfucking redneck!", he's saying "Did you know you are a resentful negro?" Over here calling a stranger who looks mixed or redneck "negro" is the same as throwing the n-word. You can say the word, we may even use it as a nickname for a friend, but in this context it is an awful way to call someone. That's why he later says "What was it you called me back there?" I don't know why they censored it.

I don't understand a lot of your comments.... Police are searching for the dead boy's body for days and if they report that they found him they will be acknowledged. So why would you say they are melodramatic? They are kids and it's a big deal to them. Teddy's attitude is pretty normal especially he had a dad who is an army with PTSD and for Teddy his dad is a hero. Kids have a wide imagination. You actually keep judging them like instantly you called Chris a liar didn't it occured to you a child will nat test a gun if it's loaded he just took it and you get mad at the bullies for bullying kids... They're decisions aren't perfect because obviously, again, they are kids. Adults keep making worst decisions. I guess you just forgot how to be a child. I'm just glad you did enjoy the movie

One of my favorite movies. But there are some flaws and I'm not talking about some technical out of historical context flaw. Rather simple continuity flaws. One that stands out to me every single time is when the doctor amputates the boys arm. In the operating scene he's clearly amputating his right arm. But just a couple of scenes later when the Captain brings the boy a book to read his Left arm is now amputated. Just sloppy CGI really. But still both really good scenes otherwise.

Desperado is a remake / sequel.. it wasn't his wife. The guy in the opening "Mocho" is a drug dealer that killed the mariachi's girlfriend and shot him in the hand (the reason he has a bullet hole in his right hand). Mocho is the character in the opening of Desperado and they reshot part of the ending to El Marischi with Banderas (the mariachi was played by actor Carlos Gilardo in the original).

Still a top 5 all time favorite! U HAVE to go on here or anywhere, to find out how this got made! Only one famous actor, Willem Dafoe. Shot on a shoestring budget, sometimes on credit card money!!. Outrageous violence and funny! Part 2 is ok, not as good. They're still thinking on the final part! Willem plays maybe the most interesting character ever...an almost overtly over the top gay guy, who hates gay guys! One guy is a long time porn star and so is the girl! The Italian boss, played in some other interesting movies. I think the old bar guy really did have a speech impediment, and I think the nuns, really were nuns! The Funny Man, played an absolute fantastic believable character! None of the Catholic churches in the city agreed to filming, because they strongly objected to the movie, it's shot in a Lutheran church! Ewan McGregor was originally offered one of the brothers roles. But went out and partied with writer producer director, troy Duffy. They got into a huge argument about the death penalty ( kinda like the end credits) Troy thought, he's too much of a pussy for this role, and cut him. I bet u Ewan regrets that- missing out on playing an all time beloved movie and character! I have movie posters of them in my house, praying, with guns in hand, reciting the prayer! Yes, he's their dad!

What I love sbouy this movie is that he wasn't 25 years in isolation, he was 25 years being locked up by the husband of the woman he raped and killed. 25 years, and not even an insult, and at one point he breaks and begs for who knows how long? And then after 25 years the first words he hear are "Usted dijo perpetua/ You said life" a reminder that he won't get away. Imagine that, 25 years of silence and all you hear is a reminder of your sentence. I'd kill myself

Norman Reedus is a perfectly Ok actor, THAT tne the only statement you made I genuinely disagree with....HOWEVER, as far as other points you made 1. Billy Connelly's voice being "over the top" 🤷🏻‍♀️ IS WHAT IT US - as THAT is his honest-to-God actual voice/accent. 2. yeah, the " Saints' " (the bros') accents are bad --- but still don't care. I, myself, (fully knowing they were 'bad' accents) enjoy them, regardless! idk, maybe that's just me but 🤷🏻‍♀️ and 3. I'm sure this film, comparatively, is seen initially as a 'bad' movie, but IMO, its borderline campy, meaning - it's exactly the tbings most would deem "bad" that i like the most...."so bad, it's good" is how I'd categorize it myself

It was meant to be an epic film..ala The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.. But.. It really had a very very slim run time. I think is part of the issue. It felt like it should have been 2 whole movies. You have multiple characters and stories that get short shift.. there was.. It wasn't even a rumor. There was supposed to be a film following Depp's Agent Sands that sadly never happened.
