If I want to be a neurosurgeon like Eddie Chang (MD / PI at UCSF), who is leading the field of neuroscience / language, should I apply for MD or MD/PhD. He just did MD and still does a ton of research. This leads me to think, is the PhD even necessary then? I'm worried if I apply to MD school and say I wanna be like Eddie Chang / do research as well as treat patients they're going to ask well why didnt you apply to MD/PhD then.
Hi Mac, great question! Both MDs and MD/PhDs get involved in research, which is normal and expected. If you are interested in both treating patients and research, an MD program is most likely the right fit for you, since MD/PhD curricula will focus more heavily on research. If someone does ask you why you chose MD over a MD/PhD, in an interview for example, you can discuss why you want to have that balance between patient care and research, but this is not a common question you will get. Another thing to consider is that there are more MD programs out there than MD/PhD programs, and the latter tend to expect applicants to have extensive research experience.
In no world should a cashier start giving advice to a customer about getting an appointment with their physician or going to the ER to get a dose of this supposed life threatening medicine
Does they accept from secondary school
Hi Muhammed, great question! No, medical schools in Canada almost exclusively require a 4-year bachelor's degree or equivalent to apply. However it's a good idea to check the international applicant requirements for any schools you want to apply to in Canada, as some programs offer special application tracks or have varying requirements.
Great advices
1. First, I would be careful not to make any assumptions as maybe Sarah and the guy are just friends and are joking with each other. I would approach the interaction and to get a better in depth understanding of what's going on. If the guys are indeed making fun of her, I would stop them and speak to the guys privately in a non-confrontational manner. I would ask them what Sarah did to deserve this treatment and ask how they would feel if you were in her shoes getting bullied, with the goal of raising their empathy for others around them 2. I would be in favor of this training, however I think this training should be distributed to all employees before they start in order to prevent these situations from happening. If situations like these continue to happen, however, then I think the employees would definitely need a more advanced view on the policy regarding colleague treatment, not just about the existence of it, but WHY it exists 3. Yes, there was an incident when I was playing a pickup basketball game and one of my teammates shoved the opposing player, causing a shoving match between the two. I helped stop the fight and made sure to calm everyone down BEFORE we start talking about what engaged this actions of the two in the first place. After things started to calm down, I had a private conversation with each of them in a non-confrontational manner, asking what went wrong. One of them was mad that he got fouled too hard while the other was doing it as a revenge to being fouled hard earlier. I talked to the rest of the players we were playing with to come up with a better resolution for fouls, and we agreed that it would be best to hire a referee for the next time we play basketball. I then reminded each of the two that we're here to have fun and encouraged them to shake each other's hands and embark on their thoughts about this new proposal.
Pretty late upload eh
It's never too late to share the news :)
Get it! Good luck! ❤
Doesn’t take long to see what you need to do to get into medical school with a low MCAT and GPA…#AffirmativeAction
Is there any conversion between score /186 to 1-9?

Hi! Thanks for your question! Yes, you can study medicine if you have humanities background. Though you might need to finish some science prerequisites if they are required from medical schools you choose to apply to.
This is actually really helpful thanks!
Glad it helped!
I just graduated from my university can I apply to Marshall university without taking the MCAT? Please anyone has any information provide me with some info, it will be really helpful
Hi, thanks for your question! The Marshall University's BS/MD does not require the MCAT.
@@BeMoAcademicConsulting thank you
What was her stat? GPA, MCAT score, extracurriculars? Also, was she first gen or URM? Did the fact that she was in the military family influenced her acceptance?
do you guys review essays?
Hi Kiki! Yes, our services include essay review for medical school applications.
Unless is DEI
MCAT is also held in Pakistan. There is very tough competition.
even that didn't make sense lmao
That cat is so adorable 😂
Is this thing for real!!?? You don't say anything at all!!! Let alone understanding the results of this obscure test we are forced to take, of which we don't know the rubric,, and never receive the feedback of either! And BTW, the sole existence of this completely useless 'test' is a compete scam. One that students only, yet again, have to pay for.
What types of things, should I be “reading “ again please ?
Hi Sonja, thanks for your question. Do you mean what you should be reading for MCAT CARS prep? You can read whatever you want as long as it is challenging you. For example, try reading classics of literature to increase your vocabulary, or you can try reading academic journals or newspaper articles that present an argument you can deconstruct. The more challenging, the better!
Im planning on doing an accelerated program from BS to MS in Biochemistry which is in total of 5 years do u think its worth it instead of a 4 year BS in biochemistry? I do want to apply to medical school afterwards
Hi! Thanks for your question. If you want to get your master's in biochemistry and you enjoy the study of biochemistry - you should complete the master's. We just don't suggest you do a master's to simply increase your chances of getting into medical school.
Yay BMO
Great video. The inclusion of the examples made it exceptional and self-explanatory
Thank you!
So glad you found this helpful! You're welcome!

Questions like this are a waste of time....
I have not taken any chemistry, biochem or physics courses ,just biology would it be okay?
Hi! Thanks for your question! It might be difficult for you to score high on the MCAT without taking any chemistry, biochem or physics courses. The MCAT threshold at UBC is pretty high, so make sure to prepare yourself for these disciplines. It might be a good idea to take these classes to prepare for the MCAT.
And they still come out incompetent. An RN with 5 to 10 years triage.Experience outweighs ten doctors in knowledge.
Probably the worst advice I have ever heard. Given that you have 5 minutes to read the passage and 5 minutes to answer all 5 or 7 questions, why would you waste time writing an “X” on a answer choice you know is not correct, and then writing 75% and 50% so you can see that 75>50. This is a very good way to run out of time
what's BEMO?

You talk with your hands very awkwardly
Your prefactory to what you'll need is communicative touches but not digressed or progressed into sexuality which Ontario has been horrible for and needs help, but profactionarily you'll want to get out of debt and get a law degree for the formulation of starting your own government (by the People) supported medical working conglumerant but as you get bigger and more progressed you have to meet people on remember them and their meant to be in your district but conforming to a group that has already established itself is another path.
Lots of value, thanks!
If you're a non traditional student should you include honors and awards from undergrad 10 years ago?
Hi Kb, thanks for reaching out! Generally we recommend including more recent entries on your residency CV, unless the honors and awards speak to your preparedness for your chosen specialty or your unique qualities as an applicant :)

Seems very helpful
And after saving the student life, I will tell him/her: "stop being stupid and no more drinking or I will take that kidney back" 😂
