  I got everything running so far, eyetracking is working in vrc but somehow my facetracking is not working, idk why. Testet the same avatar like someone using rift face tracking but its working with him but not with me

  Do avatars have to be already set up and configured for facetracking in unity and vrchat or will this software just take any avatar on the newest sdk and automatically apply face tracking to them. It used to be you had to manually add face tracking to avatars in unity by adding blend shapes onto avatars in order for face tracking to work. Wondering if this process has changed?

  you have to manually add shapes to get face tracking to work, however there are a few public avatars with it already set up BUT they're all furry avatars.

  Virtual desktop does not have Face Tracking pass though yet. Maybe one day, hopefully!

  Also, link can be better if you have a solid PC and Wi-Fi 6e access point or router. I had to upgrade to get it to work correctly. But VD would be so much better for performance sake. Like I said I hope they allow FT I’ve support, but with meta cutting production of Quest Pros I’m not so sure it will.

  i have PTC enabled, but i dont have any of those settings, besides demo, PTC, and restart. i found the OpenXR runtime thingymajiggy, but i cant set oculus as runtime. any ideas?

  I ended up resolving the issue, and if i remember right, the oculus runtime was already set, and i had a different issue going on.

  Got my headset paired, but I'm missing the options to turn on the tracking from the oculus app even though it works in the headset on its own. Just downloaded the oculus app today, so not sure if I need an old or newer update or if I need to get dev mode.

  Is the VRChatFaceTracking software needed? Shouldn't it just work natively seen as though VRChat asks to use face tracking when launching?

  It should but it's a quest device and they don't really go through much effort when making things compatible with programs other than it's own.

  So I used to have that happen, some sort of issue with not having the dev mode activated on your Meta app on the phone. I had it happen when I factory reset a few months ago. Sorry for replying so late!!!

  Might be a duub question, but I see you are using FBT. How'd you get it to work with steam? I can only use it with oculus link as of now and I have trackers I'd like to use but I can't get it to work with steam for the life of me

  Good question. I might make a video about that in the future. It can be done two ways that I’m aware of. You can use airlink which is what I use for FT and FBT. Or virtual desktop. You just have to use a space calibrator to sync the tracker to the Quest Pro. Some people attatched a tracker to thw top of the headset for “continuous tracking” there’s videos on how to do that. And also Reddit posts If they stop doing that strike. ive had issues with base station tracking. I’ve got 6 trackers. Two vive 3.0 I use for my head/chest and hip. Then 4 tundra for my knees and feet. ive seen one person on Quest Pro with slime VR 11 point tracking and the way they have it set up looks so comfortable and nice. Tbh it might be better to do Slime VR if you do research on it. Haritorax isn’t worth it from what I’ve seen. hope this info dump helped. Btw if you get tundra trackers make sure to buy a few extra steam dongles for extra tracker bandwidth.

  Do you consider face tracking is worth the investment? I'm thinking of getting a quest pro for me. Also it does not work with all face expressions right? Like for example to showcase anger or sadness (because you can't move the eyebrows)

  The QP actually has eyebrow tracking, I just don't have an avatar that showcases it. The level of expression is largely dependent on the avatar creator. Now that being said there are blendshapes baked into some avatars that combine hand gesture facial expressions with eye and mouth tracking, so you can trigger and angry face and scowl at the same time. Tech is still grassroots so it is improving, I personally enjoy it over the old system as it breathes life into the avatars.

  I personally think that it does, but just know what it is on the bleeding edge and early tech. That said I really enjoy using this in VRC personally.

  the only thing i have under the beta tab is public test channel and demo mode. wheres all the other stuff? also the vrc face app says no modules loaded?

  Make sure you enable the public test channel. All the settings should populate if you have your quest pro connected to you computer and the app indicates it is connected.

  The side blockers don't inhibit tracking at all. The full face blocker probably will.
