Charles Jones the RedNeckNerd

This channel will be about knives and stuff that I am interested in. This includes modifying knives, sheaths, and general outdoor stuff. We may add is some of the more nerdy stuff as we go on. Hey, come along for what may by an eclectic and eccentric ride. NOTE: All information is for educational and entertainment purposes.
I am a disabled guy, a veteran, NOT a disabled veteran, who loves the outdoors. I also love books, sci-fi, and learning new stuff. In addition I am concerned about Veteran's and here is a website to help Vet's, if you need help reach out to them
www.va.gov/health-care/health-needs-conditions/mental-health/suicide-prevention/
In addition the National Suicide prevention hotline is 988 from anywhere in the USA. NOTE Vets dial 1 after it's answered to connect with VA helpers/volunteers!

I have a Schrade SCHF52 I use as a pry tool/digging implement for metal detecting/civil war relic hunting. It’s pretty stout. The tip broke off long ago of course. That Leroy looks like a lot of fun. Little bigger than my bk9 I use for clearing and what not. I can’t imagine the tip on those things would take much abuse though.

Hello and thank you for this Video on The Trail Master VG1 made in Japan..! Considering the purchase of a strong and durable hunting knife, I researched different knives and knife brands, my choices led me to choose 1 Cold Steel knife, either 1 Trail Master or 1 Natchez Bowie or 1 Laredo Bowie (only 460 grams..!) I fell for the same Trail Master model, solid & light, at the beginning of the year, and when I had enough money to pay for it, the "made in Japan" became "made in Taiwan" in VG10 Steel always made in Seki Japan.. but I definitely preferred to have 1 ColdSteel in San Maï III Steel made in Japan.!! So with luck, I ended up finding 1 ColdSteel knife made in Japan VG1: 1 second-hand "Laredo Bowie" from the past century (1990..), the model with its leather sheath and brass rivets, with its guard and part of the pommel also in brass. Its "rat tail" system, which makes this Bowie knife lighter (knife from the French word "canif" / "k"nif" in French ;-), makes it very easy to handle, fast and precise in cutting movements etc., in background 1 very good combat knife (presence of the guard..), but less practical for "Bush Craft"..! For the handle, coffin-shaped and made of hard "G10" resin, I also rolled up 1 "stapp'in" camo strip, which improves its "grip" and protects it. Since purchasing a real Bowie, ColdSteel, very solid, I do not regret it, for 2 months, I have had the pleasure of being the owner of 1 Bowie Knife ColdSteel.. That' s all folk ;-) , Hi from France . Bien Cordialement ..! David .

@@charlesjonestherednecknerd Every organization, has it's faults and the way of making them. The Marines though? They are the only organization that are dependent on everyone else, to do their "Marine" stuff. Their "fix it", (just like any government entity) is to give them more stuff! Which is "mission creep". They've already become an archaic organization. Like the horse cavalry. I've had former Marines (turn Soldier) that I couldn't put on guard duty, LP/OP, or near any comms. Just because someone "earned a title", doesn't mean they know what they're doing.

You're a great man. Where I hail from carrying anything is pretty much acceptable. I drive around with my pistols and my ar next to me. We can't legally drive with long guns loaded but I have 6 mags next to it just in case. I always have quite a bit of extra mags. I do appreciate your service. Extra mags and backup firearms are a must for me as well as last ditch blades that i don't use they are purely for defense as well as my edc users. I'm 6"3 and 180 so not too noticeable. I'm always very aware of my surroundings but not too concerned about weather or not people know I'm prepared to protect myself and my family if need be and i know my presence has been a deterrent in many situations. When I was younger and doing what was necessary I certainly wasn't out to hurt the innocent but I blended back then. I dressed clean and smart. I looked like a square and walked like I didn't have a care in the world. It was excellent camouflage. I'd wave to police with a smile on my face and they waved back so you're right. The way you carry yourself matters. Nobody knew what I had back then and what I was doing except the people who were in my circle. I'm not about cop calling. I never have and never will even when I have been assaulted, robbed or whatever. I was raised to take care of my own problems and was a street kid and I'll always follow that code. I knew pretty much everyone who you needed to know anyway and was friendly with the sharks so I didn't have problems in my own neighborhood anyway. I did see some people who were dumb enough to call cops pay with their lives so I do advise against it. Now luckily I'm fortunate enough to live in the sticks where it's safe and boring and my family will never have to struggle. If I didn't follow the rules of my city and do what was necessary that would not have been the case. I have no ill will towards anyone but the cop calling kind aren't the kind I associate with so considering my current environment I'm pretty much a loner but that's okay. I have my family and my little one is being raised to handle her own problems or come to me if she can't. Again nothing happens where we live so I don't think that would be an issue. Happy new year again. Stay safe and vigilant.

Man i feel like I haven't seen you in a year! I was unaware of what has been going on. I hope for a full recovery. These were great tips! I also carry owb. Usually a glock17. I'm not too worried about people noticing but i do have a concealed carry jacket if I'm in a place where its less acceptable to be carrying. It's easy to throw a few small pistols and a bunch of mags in there. I used have my 3 mag pouch on my belt for my primary as well and a secondary iwb in case my primary jams or malfunctions. I rotate my secondary frequently but lately it's been a smith and wesson m&p2.0 compact .40. I'm loving it and have had plenty of range time with it so when need be it's my primary if complete concealment is necessary in that case my secondary will either be my smith and wesson .38 airweight snubby or my ruger lcr 9mm. Love em both and shoot em both frequently so im pretty confident in my carry. I do enjoy full size revolvers and 1911s but generally those are for hiking and home. Places where i don't find higher capacity to be likely needed. I hope this new year is a great one for you and brings good fortune to you and yours. It's great to see you.

My second second generation is a full quarter inch thick it Mus be luck of the draw my first one was just a millimetre shy my Son Nathan couldn't wait to inherit it I gave it to him because he bought me a new rear white wall tire for my Evo Heritage I bought the front one because it needed a new tire and the back could wait a season but because he wanted me to have matching tires the rear was black he spent $200 and bought me a new one so I let him have my survivalist and it took me about 6 months to save up and get another one and its a full 1/4 inch his isn't . lol so I guess it turned out good for me new white walls on my Harley ...
