  Does this work in real-life though? I understand why on camera they're so mesmerizing, because a camera has a shatter speed which makes spinning objects appear like this. But a human eye is analog and not digita.

  Fun fact, this is basically how the first motion capture "movie" was made. It had different slides (frames) of the movie and then got spun around to show a moving image the person would look at as it spun. Very cool 👍
