This is a very similar scaling issue we find with the 1/10 short course trucks as well. They look very large in comparison to most 1/10 models and with the Rally using a Slash 4x4 LCG chassis it is quite a large platform

Are the internals capable of upgraded parts? The rear end should be a floating 4 link. Would make it more realistic and way more adjustable to get the car to rotate in the corners. Plus it would make the car carry the left front in corners. Which just looks cool.
You can for sure upgrade some drive line components like driveshafts from many different companies like MIP and Traxxas. The electronics can be upgraded to a different motor and esc combo with the possibility of upgrading to something sensored to run in a specific class, servos can be upgrade as well as radio system. Our best advice we can give is look for a local racing class and see what they offer for classes and update accordingly for what class you want to run
@ultrarchobbies unfortunately where I live we don't have anything local going on. I have multiple friends interested in circle dirt track racing. Pretty sure no one up north where I live knows what an imca modified is haha!
@@ultrarchobbiesI was talking to some friends. Told them I wanted to build 4 or 5 tracks in town in different locations all real tracks to scale and have a season. Keep them stock other than tire grooving and shock weights. They think they will be to slow to enjoy. Any suggestions?
This is always a the hard part about getting over the stigma of stock racing with it being slow. That being said it is always easier to get new people in when the car and battery are the main investment to go have fun and come and try it. When you start forcing people to buy the car and battery and then tell them they need to spend anywhere from $200 - $500 in upgrades that replaces most of the factory components it makes it much harder to grow to new enthusiasts. Many places we have looked into have put a true spec class together for this car and seem to be having good success getting new people to come out and play. Some offer pinion ranges depending on the size of the track, some are keeping it very stock other then radio and receiver changes (which can be a very costly upgrade depending on what you go with) and then allowing tuning with shock oil. There are many ways to police it but the biggest thing to get people hyped will be getting a car and track setup that people can come and have fun and see what the car will do, the rest tends to take care of itself

i'll have mine in a couple days same color I'll let you know what I think I'm probably the biggest stampede fan in history, will know right away if it's the real deal until Traxxas includes speed sensor in the Bluetooth it's a complete waste of money. just buy this truck with a battery adapter so you don't have to use Traxxas batteries and you'll be good to go. as far as the graphics there's two for adults and two for children the gunmetal dark ones are intended for adults. red is better than blue so I bought the red one but it's really gray red and black i'm not gonna lie the graphics options for these trucks suck but other than that...awesome truck hoss failed cos dumb name even by RC standards, which are low
We agree 100% this truck should have been what was released 4 years ago as a updated Stampede and possible with the name Stampede 2.0 to save some confusion within the lineup. The new gun metal colours are super nice outside in the sun and really have another level of detail for a rtr body

Where are you seeing setups for improving handling?
We have been following a couple Facebook pages that run the original "mud boss" factory class and talk general setup for rc dirt oval cars which seems to be pretty solid information. Until we get the Mud Boss out to more people June 21st would be hard to say the exact things to do for this car

Just ordered mine today cant git it till friday but i was shooting for pink but thay did not have them in stock so i went with the green but i feel any color you get is going to look good
We feel the same about all of the colours!! With the addition of the GTR shocks colour matching the body is just a small thing that takes it over the top in our opinion! Enjoy your new car!

Hi there, if i have a 5000mah 3s battery that has a recommended charging rate of 1-5C, does it mean charging it at 5C = 5amps as its 5000mah/1000 = 5
Thanks for the question - 1c would be charging at 5amp as you would be converting the mah (5000) into an amp hour number. I’m our recommendation we always suggest to balance charge at 1c for maximum life out of any battery

just curious is the clip less body worth it? i have a ultimate and the body rubs on the wheels every time i make a fast sharp turn. if this is the only “upgrade” then i want the old clip style one
We have had very mixed reviews on the clipless body mounting system, this system doesn't seem to fall off on hard landings like previous models of the clipless from Traxxas. But the one large complaint if you are running in lots of mud is that you have to reach in fairly far under the body to get to the clipless latches and they pack up with mud which can make them a bit tricky to get off. It seems like the bodies sit at a very similar height of the clipless bodies so you probably won't gain to much for the body not to rub

The lights add a very nice touch for the scale detail but the winch for sure takes it over the top!!

They had the red in front of the at the hobby shop so I picked it up. I put some fans on the motor before I even ran it. I also got a 8000mah 100C 3s Gens Ace basher pro for it. It fits perfectly with the optional $8 bigger than battery hold down 👍

Hi guys, just found you’re video on this. I’m an unfortunate that was on T A waiting list and got one of these. As soon as I saw a review and heard about the issues I emailed T A. Told them I’d heard Amain had recalled them and asked what they were doing about it. He pretty much told me they appreciated Amain’s stance but didn’t recognize any problems as of now. No solutions or offers to replace the esc or servo, just left me hanging. I bought a servo and I’m shopping for the esc. Just sucks that an almost 700.00 car is dangerous and the buyer is responsible for making it right. If you know anything different please let me know! Thanks!
Thanks for the comment, as far as we know our supplier in Canada has asked us to RMA all of our Sr-7 cars to send back to them until they get this issue rectified. We have taken out all of the stock electronics out of ours so we can still play but it seems to be a larger issue then initially realized.
All I heard about so far was the esc coupled with the deans plugs catching fire, the diffs needing to be serviced and that weak servo. So it’s not team associated that asked for yours back, seems everyone but them are trying to do the right thing 😮
That is correct it is our Canadian supplier that has asked for them back
Please let us know what electronics you end up using, I was thinking about Hobbywing max 8? I’m also using a Spektrum receiver and radio. Glad I found you guys!!
We ended up putting in a Max6 from Hobbywing with a Power HD S25 brushless servo and for a heads up we have found out that the stock servo horn is 24t and did not fit the Power HD servo. So we also had to upgrade the servo horn as well

We are very interested to see how the esc fiasco plays out and hope they get it figured out quickly. This car does have quite a bit of potential but there are for sure some underlining issues currently

From what we were told by Traxxas all the TRX4 and TRX6 models will be able to pull the boat trailer

You are correct and thanks for pointing that out. When this was released we didn’t know that a full VXL version was coming and assumed that this was the only version that was going to be available like the previous brushed model. But we were totally wrong lol. Thanks for the comment

Thanks for the comment! Brushed motor will be clean waterproof but once you add mud and other debris it can really harm the longevity of the motor. If you clean the motor after lots of muddy conditions and add a light amount of oil on the bushings it will far increase the life of the motor

Nice video. How far would the TRX-6 protrude from the top if you didn't close the backpack?
The standard Mercedes would stick out a smidge but the hauler would have quite a bit of the bed protruding from the top of the backpack as it is much longer

The new Traxxas spartan SR boat leaks water everywhere. They did not glue the seams and it comes in from the shaft and back. Spartan SR boat sucks literally sucks water in from everywhere. If you leave it in the water too long you’ll find it on the bottom of the lake. 😢
Oh we are sorry to hear that you have been having issues with yours. We would recommend to call Traxxas as the seams of the two halves sounds like it missed quality control. As for the shaft leaking water, adding a little grease to the flex shaft which should be re greased every couple of runs will hopefully fix that up
I got one the other day. It is pretty cool, except the self righting didn't work and it was stuck upside down
What colour did you go with? We have found some hit or miss luck with the self righting as well.

The Truck is great, if the price wasnt so outrageous I would maybe get one. It's for the same price as the UDR I just don't see what I am getting. As a Person working in a hobby shop I'll not recommend this to anybody, instead get a Mojave, a slash VXL or a Maxx.

We found this to be one of the harder trucks to figure out what colour to order as the three you have mentioned look so darn good!

We are very excited to see the other colour options especially the red and green with all of the gun metal metallic in it, we think we are seeing a colour scheme with green in your fleet of cars!
Well, I don't know if it's only green. I have red sledge, orange slash, green blue and red. Spartan is orange-blue, Raptor is red, bandit is blue, Corvette is gray, TRX-4 is green, red, Sport is orange, TRX-6 is black,... FUU, I know I have so much that I would write to you until morning :-) Well, I have different colors, but green suits me personally for these two models
Sounds like you have quite the extensive collection and in many different colours! The green in person is very nice and I don't think you can go wrong with any of the colour of the new Maxx Slash to be honest
