  I mean it looks nice, but it's a just a bit... metroidvania.exe They stayed very very tightly to the metroidvania formula and did not stray. Back in the indie golden age, this would have been a banger, but today there's so many examples of metroidvania.exe that it's just blase at this point.

  The biggest problem I think is just that it is not presented good enough. When doing it the first time, I just missed the fact that I only had X HP, I was just running around not understanding wtf I was supposed to math.

  It was a very fun game. The Corgi scavenger hunt was fun and worth it. I'd love like a boss rush or something you can do post game to flex all the upgrades you can get. All in all I recommend it.

  first time i heard that song i was like "wait, are they really singing big fat tacos?", it is exactly the same stuff with mirai nikki song where it sounds like "biscuits biscuits, fuck this tea" (you are welcome :P)

  Game is mid. Enemies doesn't stagger when you attack, and because of it half of your combat abilities are useless. To much story for metroidvania style game. Teleports are placed in worst spots to waste your time(why just not allow to teleport to save points?). Abilities felt like they were taken from the book "My First Metroidvania" - nothing fun or interesting. One really good thing i can say about the game is visuals.

  @@nyko10 It's constructive criticism. It's not like he's saying calling the game shite or insulting anyone. There's nothing wrong with telling it how it is especially if the two of them want to keep backing games. They aren't perfect and they both likely wanna learn more about game dev and how to better help studios that they do decide to back. Also if people only ever said nice things and never anything slightly negative then nothing would get done. You don't need to white knight for Jesse and Dodger. Their grown ups so let 'em defend their own products, etc.

  @@Yucko000 I was wrong when called the game a metroidvania - i just looked at steam page and there is zero mentions of that genre. Anyway, inability to stagger enemies is the first thing that I've noticed - Aletheia has so many fun combat abilities, but its frustrating to use them - you cant cancel them into roll and because of that you gonna get hit anytime you do something fancy. One more thing is translation - when i played the game there was tons of typos and other mistakes(but at least this can be easily fixed, if not already).
