Great radio play as usual 👍
do you have (or even just know of) any other radio plays with Douglas Henshall? that info is Impossible to find
Douglas Henshall isn't in this one. IMDB says: "Douglas has also performed in plays for BBC radio, including the role of Romeo in "Romeo and Juliet (1999), David in "The Long Farewell" (2002), Jack Parlabane in "Bampot Central" (2004) and Richard in "Richard III" (2004)."
I'm always happy when the villain gets his comeuppance! Another great radio play.
Wonderful story performed by excellent actors.
I love listening to these stories. they are always well done.
Sign of the four 0:38
FEATURING WHO???
??
Another clever program. Thank you.
This play - KZread was interupted 8 or 9 times by adverts and singularly inappropriate adverts at that.
I'm sorry to hear that but that is being done by KZread as the channel is not monetized. I have no control over that unfortunately.
@@sherlockholmesradioshow I do appreciate it's not you doing this, and I really do appreciate that you put these stories up for us to listen to, this morning I have been fascinated to listen to The Final Problem and The Empty House, to compare these adaptations with what Mark Gatiss did with them for Sherlock. Apart from the adverts 🙃🙂 a very pleasant interlude. Thank you.
Another great radio play. Thank you.
Thank you so much for posting this …. x Wonderful reading.
Is this relatively accurate to the written story?
I haven't read the book so can't answer that, but I would have thought so.
@@sherlockholmesradioshow I read on wikipedia that actually it is considered more accurate than the film that was made.
@@tkmmkt6569 Cool! Thanks for that 🙂
Excellent radio play. 👍👍
The irony here is thick. Conan Doyle himself was a serious proponent of seances and spiritualism. Maybe he was being blackmailed too. Actually I believe he lost a son in WW1
Wow! what a great radio play. All the accents, music and singing were wonderful. This is a 👍👍 production.
A wonderful telling of a A.C. Doyle story.
Dang it! I wish they had gone to the meddling sister and told her to. 😄
A wonderful story; read wonderfully by Mr. Clarke.
The first of the "Further Adventures" audios I ever listened to. And what an introduction it was.
Lol, that was almost an example of Method acting from Holmes. Even Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro would have impressed! Thanks for uploading.
The horrendous constant music killed these.
Horrendous. Violin solos and terrible dialogue. Who got away with this?
THIS IS A FABULOUS STORY BROKE MY HEART WHEN WATSON LOST HIS WIFE MARY WHEN THEY MET IN THE SIGN OF THE FOUR IT WAS A REALLY NICE PIECE OF WRITING BY A C D THANKYOU 🌈🙏♥️😊
Thank you for posting. Great show. 😃
Lol at 20:48 I agree with Holmes's opinion of Margate. God, if only he knew what a dump it is!
A great retelling of a story I read many, many years ago.
That episode had a couple of poignant moments. Holmes reflecting on how much London has changed, that he doesn't feel he belongs there. Then there's that final scene...
Clive Merrison is perfect as Holmes, I used to listen the original stories on audiobook over 30 years ago. I always used to like falling asleep listening to them, I even took them on my honeymoon😂
The actress playing Helen Stoner, her accent sounds curious. I can't place it.
1:29 This is the part where we hear from Disney’s The great mouse detective!
Fangs for this audio book
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE NIGEL STOCK HE DID 5 DRAMAS IN THE LATE 1960S WITH PETER CUSHING AS SHERLOCK HOLMES THESE WERE ABSOLUTELY SUBLIME BRINGS A TEAR TO MY EYE TO THINK THESE WONDERFUL GENTLEMEN HAVE LONG SINCE DEPARTED BUT AT LEAST THEIR WORK WILL STAY WITH US FOREVER. R I P PETER CUSH AND NIGEL STOCK FROM DAVID EAST ANGLIA COAST NORFOLK 😊♥️🌈🙏
Thanks a lot for uploading this production. I didn't enjoy the story, it feels rambling and dull until the climax. Simon Callow is pretty good as Holmes but the actor playing Watson is very poor. The inclusion of Professor Moriarty seems pointless, because he hasn't much to do. The tennis scene I'm sure could have been omitted.
That Welsh character was a bit fiery! Reminds me of my father. A good story overall, Andrew Sachs is an effective Dr. Watson.
just wondering if this was your last post for these radio shows.
Yes it was.
@@sherlockholmesradioshowman o man. These were just fantastic I really looked forward to them every week. Thank you for sharing them!
Basil Rathbone makes the reading special, simply because he's the one providing the narration.
Fantastic adaptation! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Thank you for posting and sharing this!!
Great radio 📻
Make even the most familiar stories seem advertising fodder. Insufferable
If you are referring to adverts then that is KZread doing that, not the channel, as it is not monetized.
A SHOT OF CHARLIE CASE SOLVED GENIUS
when it shows Sherlock and John's argument in the beginning, I laughed as it reminded me so much of the actual BBC show
I love the bbc dramatisations and this one is my favourite. Peter Davison as well!
Thirteen Comments. Thanks for posting these. 👍
Sounds like young Sherlock might have had affection for ms. Snell
SUPERB JUST SUPERB ❤
"Cracking Cheese, Sherlock"
Disappointing episode. No where did I experience Sherlock use his means of deduction to solve the case.
