In the oven is the best way to cook them. Second favourite is the microwave. Sounds terrible but , you create a bag from cling film and it steams in minutes 👌

Good u put the smaller ones back you didn’t eat . Our lochs have been decimated by our Eastern European cousins in particular eating and killing pike over around the 8lb mark ( they are always females , take the breeding stock out of anything out of any where and it’s game over ) that chain of lochs where u are near the road have been rinsed . very very Odd double figure , few high singles , however some nice perch and trout still around . As far as the rules go there are none in Scotland regarding the cource fish of pike , plus the fish have not been introduced and are generally indigenous to the area .

I really enjoyed this video, no preaching or teaching, loads of fish caught and all gone to a good home! It's interesting that you got all but one on the same relaxed pull retrieve, regardless of the flies, no figure-of-eight or stripping. I must try that next time. I usually try all the fancy retrieves known to man and then give up and do a real slow figure of eight, at which point the fish strike!

Yeah, thanks for that. I'm no expert and don't think I ever will be a teacher/preacher type. Hope you're having a good holiday season and get a chance at some aggro winter fish! Tight lines!

Usually a lttle better from May onwards...and there might be a chance of sea trout or salmon in some rivers after rain...but thats where the free fishing ends ... memories of many good days in the North West highlands when I was at Aberdeen Uni.....in another century . ...We lived off porridge ...!! What’s this stuff about a ‘feelay’ of fish?! The only place in the UK where you might hear it called that is in Macdonalds! For us, it’s a fish fillet, or a fish that you have filleted. Similarly, I have never heard a Brit refer to a ‘feelay’ steak, it will always be a fillet steak. I do hope you remembered to feed your girlfriend at some point. You seemed to be rather hogging the trout!
