I don't understand the idea of the spirit resting upon us if he's already in us. i don't think there is a distinction in this except for our awareness of him. maybe he sees something i don't know but i thought the difference was the old covenant vs new covenant

Believers, Bill Johnson might say some true things, but he is a false teacher. Motivational messages don't equal truth. I shouldn't say as harshly lying but brainwashed by fanatical parents. But do you know why we know for a simple fact the entire story was concocted? Because he was never clinically dead. Really look it up and research it. I did. He was prompted with a story that got more exaggerated as he grew older and now wow, the whole family is rich off this nonsense. Sorry but that's the real truth. You can't prove NDEs even when the person is clinically dead although I would consider those tales. I'm glad that he's talking about personal repentance and warning of the real danger of an eternity in hell. This is the core of the good news of the gospel after all. I do get concerned when he talks about cultural repentance. Yes we need it but it's misleading to call it repentance unless we are deliberately resisting God as Christians. IMO it would be better to describe it as "revelation" as God shows us how the Kingdom of God should impact His church and society at large. And how we view His nature and our relationship to Him. Brilliant story about the coffee. I've seen it done at the supermarket.

The fruits of the Spirit Galatians 4, come through godly living, peace, joy, love etc. Something like the lights on the dashboard of your car, if a light comes on it's a warning maybe oops, not enough oil in the engine. Similarly, if we get say unreasonably angry and we loose our peace then it's likely that we're doing one of the works of the flesh just mentioned in the previous verse (not an exhaustive list although it says they're obvious) and we should repent to return to godly living. What struck me about the parable of the talents is not that the master was unduly harsh with the servant that did nothing but how he had missed the true nature of the master, that of over spilling blessing and increase and that the servant could have been truly blessed. When my kids were small and I went out, they always wanted to come with me because they knew they'd get a icecream or sweets. Our Father is like this, it's His nature. But just a little farther down in Gal 4 it says let's keep in step with the Spirit, the earthly presence of God after Pentecost and I'll add so that we too can have blessings spilling out onto others around. And the increase of His Kingdom shall know no end.

His Kingdom originates in heaven but will eventually fill the whole earth. God is seeking a people to usher in His Kingdom on earth. It's not a political Kingdom ruled with an iron rod but a Kingdom of righteousness (right doing), and of peace. Remember the statue in the book of Daniel? The stone rolled in, broke the statue (which represents earthly kingdoms and empires) then grew to fill the whole earth. The stone represents the Kingdom of God For my part, I want in.

@@michelhaineault6654 you are confusing the destiny of an indiviual with God's overall purpose for His Kingdom in heaven and earth. There will be an end both for us as indivuals but also there'll be a new earth. Until we die, we usher in His Kingdom, after we die yes as you say, we go to a place prepared for us. In this life, we have a purpose both individually and as his people the universal church.

It’s all about the miracle, isn’t it, Bill ? He said “If I could get them out of unbelief, there would come a miracle”. Jesus only did miracles to bring them OUT of unbelief. He said he doesn’t want to draw attention from salvation, BUT.... God honors process? Breezes of His presence? We have to pick up what God’s mood is ? What is He thinking? The church needs to learn a new culture. Of heaven? The presence of the Lord is everything, more than teaching the Word. Obedience releases His presence. Praying “releases anointing” and presence into the atmosphere. If you walk into an atmosphere made by people prophesying you change. What is inside of us we release into the atmosphere. So you change atmosphere because you arethe “gate of heaven”. (Genesis) by the way we think and speak. Atmosphere , if it’s right, opens up heaven to invade earth. This is what he is saying. Sounds good, but the problem is, Bill thinks God’s presence in a place is entirely our doing and our responsibility. Where does it say that human beings should know God’s mood or that we can even FATHOM the mind of God? Or that any of us can direct God to show up producing signs and wonders regardless of what we do If you choose to reach into the supernatural looking for signs and wonders, you’re going to find them, but have absolutely no guarantee they come from the Holy Spirit.

I'm glad that he's talking about personal repentance and warning of the real danger of an eternity in hell. This is the core of the good news of the gospel after all. I do get concerned when he talks about cultural repentance. Yes we need it but it's misleading to call it repentance unless we are deliberately resisting God as Christians. IMO it would be better to describe it as "revelation" as God shows us how the Kingdom of God should impact His church and society at large. And how we view His nature and our relationship to Him. Brilliant story about the coffee. I've seen it done at the supermarket.
the mines (and talents) represent the Holy Spirit and we have to produce fruits trough Him not forcely healing or disciples...but fruits.We will not change this wicked world but God change us for to be fruitfull.We are entirely God work.
The fruits of the Spirit Galatians 4, come through godly living, peace, joy, love etc. Something like the lights on the dashboard of your car, if a light comes on it's a warning maybe oops, not enough oil in the engine. Similarly, if we get say unreasonably angry and we loose our peace then it's likely that we're doing one of the works of the flesh just mentioned in the previous verse (not an exhaustive list although it says they're obvious) and we should repent to return to godly living. What struck me about the parable of the talents is not that the master was unduly harsh with the servant that did nothing but how he had missed the true nature of the master, that of over spilling blessing and increase and that the servant could have been truly blessed. When my kids were small and I went out, they always wanted to come with me because they knew they'd get a icecream or sweets. Our Father is like this, it's His nature. But just a little farther down in Gal 4 it says let's keep in step with the Spirit, the earthly presence of God after Pentecost and I'll add so that we too can have blessings spilling out onto others around. And the increase of His Kingdom shall know no end.

@@michelhaineault6654 we pray the Lords pray, may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. The kingdoms of the earth shall become the Kingdom of God. His Kingdom originates in heaven but will eventually fill the whole earth. God is seeking a people to usher in His Kingdom on earth. It's not a political Kingdom ruled with an iron rod but a Kingdom of righteousness (right doing), and of peace. Remember the statue in the book of Daniel? The stone rolled in, broke the statue (which represents earthly kingdoms and empires) then grew to fill the whole earth. The stone represents the Kingdom of God For my part, I want in.

Jesus never say He was going to prepare us a place on earth BECAUSE at the end the world will be destroy by fire.Rev.20:11 1 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.
@@michelhaineault6654 you are confusing the destiny of an indiviual with God's overall purpose for His Kingdom in heaven and earth. There will be an end both for us as indivuals but also there'll be a new earth. Until we die, we usher in His Kingdom, after we die yes as you say, we go to a place prepared for us. In this life, we have a purpose both individually and as his people the universal church.

It’s all about the miracle, isn’t it, Bill ? He said “If I could get them out of unbelief, there would come a miracle”. Jesus only did miracles to bring them OUT of unbelief. He said he doesn’t want to draw attention from salvation, BUT.... God honors process? Breezes of His presence? We have to pick up what God’s mood is ? What is He thinking? The church needs to learn a new culture. Of heaven? The presence of the Lord is everything, more than teaching the Word. Obedience releases His presence. Praying “releases anointing” and presence into the atmosphere. If you walk into an atmosphere made by people prophesying you change. What is inside of us we release into the atmosphere. So you change atmosphere because you arethe “gate of heaven”. (Genesis) by the way we think and speak. Atmosphere , if it’s right, opens up heaven to invade earth. This is what he is saying. Sounds good, but the problem is, Bill thinks God’s presence in a place is entirely our doing and our responsibility. Where does it say that human beings should know God’s mood or that we can even FATHOM the mind of God? Or that any of us can direct God to show up producing signs and wonders regardless of what we do If you choose to reach into the supernatural looking for signs and wonders, you’re going to find them, but have absolutely no guarantee they come from the Holy Spirit.
