It was ordered through a company that is no longer in business directly from Vortech. You should be able to find one on Jegs or Summit. It was a Vortech V3.

Correct ONLY available in the 300's not the Charger's in 2006. Had a friend with a SRT 300 and I liked the cup holder in his so I found one on eBay. The charger had a cup holder but with no door.

@@billwilson6725 Cool. Yeah I had the 5 speed Nag1 but installed the 4 speed rear end with the shorter gears (3.64). Mine had originally (2.92? something like that) Was allot better out of the Hole Shot with the 3.64 gears.

The oil pan, flex plate and torque convertor were all different from the 4 speed to the updated 5 speed. happy I was able to keep the 4 and matching components, giving what you are saying as far as torque delivery difference off the line on the same horsepower motor.

Best I can tell you is 928motorsports.com sells blank Supercharger mounts so you can cut and drill your own mounting holes according to your engine. You may be able to find a template on LXFORUMS.COM in the V6 section. If you can't find a template you should be able to make one from cardboard fairly easy then transfer it to a blank for cutting & drilling.

A little late but currently found a shop to install a custom one. Did you run into any problems keeping the stock differential?

I found my stock 5 speed diff (2.92) to be sluggish off the line. So I put in the 4 speed's 3.5L diff (3.64) makes a world of difference off the line and you feel the torque. Added so much more torque I was chirping 2nd gear and 3 gear occasionally at wide open throttle. lost a little MPG but it was well worth the sacrifice.

It's called a Super Charger Whine. Every supercharger has that whine even the Hellcat sounds like that. You must not know anything about Supercharged Vehicles do you?

Yes I do. I was giving my preferences. I like my vehicles NA!!!!! Back in my old days I used to run G/ modified production at Pomona, Irwindale, OCIR, before Pro Stock class began. FYI a few friends and I built a Vega when it was allotted for NHRA and Hooker Headers used our vehicle for the V8 to Vega swap. Don’t always assume that someone doesn’t know about cars. Just be nice

Maybe knowledge on a big 71 series Roots blower but to me it came off as an uneducated comment on the sound they make on it. Now if you were to say " I always hated the way superchargers whine" or something like that then It would have sounded more like you knew about them. I was simply asking if you knew anything or not. Wasn't tryin to be rude. I apologize if it came off as a mean comment. Myself I love the Whine they make. Plus the best way to make that Charger 3.5L V6 make serious power is through Forced Air. Not NA.

Grats bro! Take care of it please! I still miss it! I Don't remember what belt size was. All pending on what pulley is on the car. Does it still have the Vortech V3 on it? Last I knew a nice girl had it (forgot her name) She was in Tampa but lost contact with her. I have zero clue as to what was done to it when I sold it a few years ago. What did you use to do the carbon fiber center console wrap? That can't be vinyl is it?

The shifter bezel is hydrodipped Carbo Fiber. Same with the strut covers,Firewall cover and Radiator Covers under the hood. All Hydrodipped. No it wasn't cheap either lol. The console lid is vinyl carbon fiber wrapped it took me over 2 hours to get the vinyl to look right for the console using a heat gun and soapy water mixture to stretch and finesse it into place.

There was a company called Tidalwave Superchargers out of VA Beach .they sold me the kit and supercharger was bought through them directly from Vortech. Tidalwave is no longer in business. I would suggest look on LXFORUMS.COM and ask around someone may still make or have a bracket for the 3.5L or can point you in the right direction of a diy of parts .

The aesthetic isn't my thing, but the idea of an SXT making SRT8 power is pretty damned cool. It would be a really nice idea for a sleeper. Keep the outside mostly stock, SXT badge and all. Maybe some fatter rubber to keep it on the road, otherwise nobody knows until they're staring up your tailpipe. Or until they hear the whine and go 🥺

They were slugs off the line. Very heavy car almost couldn't get out if its own way from stop. Thats why after I supercharged mine I swapped out the rear end to the 4 speed rear end which was 3.64 o had the 5 speed NAG1 transmission with the 2.92 gears? Can't remember but it was something like that. The car needed the 3.64's for that bump off the line which it did. Also after that from half throttle to wot I always had the tires break free hitting 2nd gear hearing that slight chirp of rubber when 2 gear hit.

Can I ask about the pros and cons of supercharging the 3.5? Obviously more horsepower and wicked sound but for longevity is it going to rough up the engine? Overall is it worth it

Overall it was worth it to me. its less money than buying a new car. The only thing you need to be concerned about is the pistons on the 3.5L. Unfortunately the pistons are the only thing that is not forged on that motor so If you plan on doing it right and having over 10psi of boost You will have to replace the pistons with forged pistons. If you already have the motor apart for the pistons you might as well get cams and new heads to complete the block. then youll be pretty much bulletproof on that block with a ton of power. But if your budget only allows the supercharger do not go over 10 psi of boost or you will pop a piston guaranteed down the road. If it's at or under 10psi you should be good for a long time. I had planned on doing cams and heads but my wife talked me into a classic muscle car restoration so I sold the Charger and got a 70' Nova SS and have started it's restoration from ground up.

@@DalyActual That was my original plan too was to keep it till It couldn't be driven anymore and then rebuild it. I had it since brand new in 2006 so 10 years was a good run. At times I did regret selling it but planning my Nova Resto all is forgotten I have moved on to bigger and better things. Yeah you could always do a HEMI swap which may cost you less in the long run if you do most of the work but I loved the fact that I was beating people with modded 5.7's and they were shocked to see what I had under the hood and were in disbelief LOL. Can't wait till my 454 Nova is on the road cause that will be a Monster with my plans what I will be ding to it.

That tick is there for EVERY 3.5L until the rocker arm assemblies are replaced with the new redesigned ones. It was just a bad design on the rocker arm assemblies. I did have the Famous TICK and rockers were sliding because the pins where sheared off the shafts but Both assemblies were replaced with the redesigned ones that don't shear the pin holding the rockers in place way before I installed the Supercharger. I don't hear any ticking in that video? All I hear is the Supercharger whine and air rushing out of the blow off valve. Get your ears checked dude.

The Supercharger is just a Vortech V3. I dont think Tidalwave does kits anymore but You'll need the right brackets,injectors,mass air flow sensor, blow off valve and tune. I got a 2006 sxt and these v6s are pretty quick stock but I definitely need some more power.
They were slugs off the line. Very heavy car almost couldn't get out if its own way from stop. Thats why after I supercharged mine I swapped out the rear end to the 4 speed rear end which was 3.64 o had the 5 speed NAG1 transmission with the 2.92 gears? Can't remember but it was something like that. The car needed the 3.64's for that bump off the line which it did. Also after that from half throttle to wot I always had the tires break free hitting 2nd gear hearing that slight chirp of rubber when 2 gear hit.

Can I ask about the pros and cons of supercharging the 3.5? Obviously more horsepower and wicked sound but for longevity is it going to rough up the engine? Overall is it worth it
Overall it was worth it to me. its less money than buying a new car. The only thing you need to be concerned about is the pistons on the 3.5L. Unfortunately the pistons are the only thing that is not forged on that motor so If you plan on doing it right and having over 10psi of boost You will have to replace the pistons with forged pistons. If you already have the motor apart for the pistons you might as well get cams and new heads to complete the block. then youll be pretty much bulletproof on that block with a ton of power. But if your budget only allows the supercharger do not go over 10 psi of boost or you will pop a piston guaranteed down the road. If it's at or under 10psi you should be good for a long time. I had planned on doing cams and heads but my wife talked me into a classic muscle car restoration so I sold the Charger and got a 70' Nova SS and have started it's restoration from ground up.

@@DalyActual That was my original plan too was to keep it till It couldn't be driven anymore and then rebuild it. I had it since brand new in 2006 so 10 years was a good run. At times I did regret selling it but planning my Nova Resto all is forgotten I have moved on to bigger and better things. Yeah you could always do a HEMI swap which may cost you less in the long run if you do most of the work but I loved the fact that I was beating people with modded 5.7's and they were shocked to see what I had under the hood and were in disbelief LOL. Can't wait till my 454 Nova is on the road cause that will be a Monster with my plans what I will be ding to it.

That tick is there for EVERY 3.5L until the rocker arm assemblies are replaced with the new redesigned ones. It was just a bad design on the rocker arm assemblies. I did have the Famous TICK and rockers were sliding because the pins where sheared off the shafts but Both assemblies were replaced with the redesigned ones that don't shear the pin holding the rockers in place way before I installed the Supercharger. I don't hear any ticking in that video? All I hear is the Supercharger whine and air rushing out of the blow off valve. Get your ears checked dude.
Did you add forged components to the engine
I had planned on adding forged pistons since everything else was forged from factory except the pistons but I never got around to it before selling the car.

The Supercharger is just a Vortech V3. I dont think Tidalwave does kits anymore but You'll need the right brackets,injectors,mass air flow sensor, blow off valve and tune. I don't have this car anymore. It was a blast driving it on a daily basis. It will be missed. It was sold a little over a year ago. Moving on to other projects. Working on my 70' Nova SS frame off restoration now.
