He could certainly crash and burn, and he wouldn't be the first super-prospect to do so! Speaking just for myself [Ben], at his best moments he really does have special speed and strength for that division, and just needs more focus and composure. It will be fun to see what happens over the next few years. Feel free to come back and gloat if he washes out of the UFC and Taira is champ three years from now. :)

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw an influx of Japanese MMA fighters in the UFC. With the yen cratering to almost 160 to the Dollar unless you're one of the very biggest stars in Rizin, even $12k/$12k a fight is good money here. Hit on a couple of $15k/$15 wins in a year or get one win + performance bonus and that's 98th percentile annual income for an MMA fighter in Japan.

That's a good insight. Kai Asakura signing with the UFC this past weekend is big. He's very good, plus charismatic and above all, young. He could be a sign of things to come.

Taira must be the first guy in the UFC to have his first six fights be against Hispanic/latino fighters haha. But on a serious note tho, great flyweight bouts. We’ve had a nice recent influx of flyweight fighters and I’m interested to see where they all land. I still include Steve Erceg in the group of up and comers even tho he did fight for the title already.

We're all sinners, but at least most of us have remorse. This man is a wretch, and he lives in denial of it. I'm filled with disgust when I hear him talk. "I can forget tomorrow" this man has gone down as the biggest cheater in history.

Love these shows dude, ur easily one of the chillest and nicest dudes covering the sport ESPECIALLY since Honeslty a lot of channels still don’t cover one but they’re SERIOUSLY missing out. Adrian Lee is phenomenal, legit so stoked to see him and Christian continue to dominate and reach GOAT status 😤👏

It’s a lose-lose for him. He beats her (which he would easily) people say he beat up a woman, he loses and they say he got beaten by a girl. Then again, give her equality. I’m so sick of this crap. She isn’t used to being hit by a man and will be really sorry. Men and women aren’t equal in terms of most sports. It is biology. Protect women and get men out of their sports. This used to be common sense but now a social experiment is underway to the detriment of girls and women.

Thanks for listening! We actually did that for a while, our "Lock of the Week." I'm not sure why we stopped, but in my case it's partly because it made it feel more like a betting show, which we really aren't. On this card, for me at least, Katona over Butler and Jacoby over Reyes feel pretty confident.

I agree with you that goat conversation takes the fun out of the whole thing but Otherwise your Take is almost as bad as Danas. People are not forgetting Jon Jones’ legacy, Young man. Its the exact reason people in general are drawing a distinction between the goat and p4p debate. Which you are weirdly conflating while talking about them as two different diskussions. P4p is right now. Thats Why the list is updated quite frankly, genius. The goat thing is not (in the minds of people). Also saying Its subjective but completely out of the question that JJ and Islam Can be compared is contradictory. Volk is clearly higher on the goat list right now than say Islam. At least before 302. But clearly Can not be ranked higher on the p4p given 2 recent defeats to Islam lately. Come on man. At least try to make sense next time.

No-one is denying Jon Jones in the ALL-TIME list, considering your list contains cheats who have failed multiple drug tests 😂 P4P rankings are based on activity, level of competition & domination. Islam has 8 wins, 4 against fighters who were top 5 P4P & a 3-time champ on a 11 fight winstreak & a 6-time champ on a 13 fight winstreak, in what world does a man who has 1 win against Gane, on a 0 fight winstreak, after getting outwrestled by Francis, a striker, in the last 4 years, deserve P4P over Islam? Sherdog you still have time to delete this biased video.

To me, 'pound for pound' rankings should focus on fighters who’ve actually succeeded in different weight classes. The best should be those who've won titles in multiple divisions or had big wins in different weights, even if they didn’t get the belt. Fighters who have real success in multiple classes should take priority over those we just imagine would do well in different weights. Also, there needs to be the All Time P4P and Current P4P. Ultimately, I totally agree with you - I hate this conversation because its really stupid and I side with Chael Sonnen on this one: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y6CivLh7dJi5cqQ.html
