Linleys welcomes you! Thank you for looking at my KZread channel.
Hi, I'm Warren Brand. You will find there are several themes in the content here. You may wonder what the commonality is with them - these including model railways, trekking, walking, camping and general outside stuff. Well, it's just me! I have had a deep interest in all these for the larger part of my life - and I'm not a youngster any more.
May 2024 : My hat is wearing out. It won't last much longer. I have started a buymeacoffee.com/linleys page where, if you would like to, you could donate a small contribution to the cost of a new hat! Just an idea; by looking at my channel your support is much appreciated anyway.
I keep my video library organised with playlists and suitable titles and thumbnails.
I try and produce one video each week and generally alternate between the themes.
Please click SUBSCRIBE, and LIKE on videos which appeal to your interest.
Cheers, Warren

That cake looked amazing! I've never been to Castleton before but I have added it to my list of places to visit now. Peveril Castle looked fab, I love a good bit of history. And I'm very intrigued by the Devil's A*se! ☺
Great addition to your fleet. Not sure if we have see your whole fleet? Cheers Evo.
A fine addition to the fleet I imagine! Thank you for giving us the little review, they're always so pleasant to watch :D
I had a German style radio controlled steam locomotive by Newqida. Too bad I couldn’t photos in the comment section, to know what I mean. I don’t have Piko locomotives running on my railway. I’m in to live steam locomotives really.
A kid and his new train😅😂😅
Big kid Warren you mean. Does this auger for less camping .. I doubt it. Bushyboy Oz.
Great acquisition. Looks like the Hopper wagons are American style. Piko G specializes in standard gauge and American trains, while LGB specializes in narrower gauges. Track ties are different between LGB and Piko G.
god vid on channel nice new train keep up the vids thanks lee
Looked like a good stomp there. How many miles do you reckon you covered
Mallardand Duchess of Hamilton side by side
Brilliant video. Great concept Warren and best of luck to you.
A grand day out Wallace 🙂👍
"British food", union jacks galore = Yank anthem in background? Was this a subtle hint at the real people in charge of the UK and our lack of independence?
Finally got around to subscribing to this excellent channel. Great stuff, I love the varied content. 👍
Very nice...we stayed in the olde Cheshire Cheese a few years ago...we enjoyed visiting all the pubs...well worth it.
Beauuuutiful! The Peak District is alien to me, but I love what I see.
Don't think I'd be running up there to save a damsel in distress Warren. Knocked up watching you mate. Good coffee but nice cake. Awesome scenery and views. Bushyboy Oz.
Hi Warren, a lovely place to visit, that gorge was spectacular!! All the best!!
good vid on channel keep up the good vid on channel thanks lee
A very informative video, Warren! Even though I've been party to one of these planned multi day hikes/camps, it's nice to hear how it is all deconstructed to make the most of the time in that particular part of the country 🙏💚
Farmer was just being honest, Warren. And you you being arrogant,( just by being there without permission) it's simple, pitch late and go early. And he made a good point re. Supporting the local economy.
Spotted this and assume it's generated by one of those automated bot things. Not a useful channel name and no content. Well, I guess it counts for engagement with a fair point poorly made. Thank you for that.
its quite marked the difference in temperature and the ground vegetation as you quickly ascend the steep hills.
So true, indeed, quite a difference. Cheers, Warren :)
I agree with the famer, look at all the damage you have done! You should be ashamed. You should have asked him his name, I'll bet his surname was COCK!!!!!
That farmer was a bit grumpy! Shame he interrupted your talk. I'd have been interested to hear about YOUR long distance trip you have planned for the summer 😂😋😘
I was a bit later than I could have been after dawn. He left me be, I think he realised that I wasn't going to leave any mess. And yes, maybe I could have referenced OUR long distance path trip this summer, maybe in a later video I will. Cheers, Warren :)
Oh yes Warren I’ve done all sorts of trips over the decades but recent years I try to keep it simple and generally a 3 to 4 night route with mostly no planning of what’s available on the route and sometimes no planning of how to get back so taken to hitchhiking again like we did in the 70s and 80s. Well there you go. See you out there🏕️👌👍😊🍺
The main need for real planning is the switchover between one trek and the start of another. But I see your point about working it out as you go when on a longer trip. Cheers, Warren :)
Hi Warren Unsettling is the word for it I would certainly been unsettled. Interesting to hear how you organise your adventures and to be honest I didn’t realise that’s how you did your trips. Anyway I have only been caught by the farmer once 25 years ago in mid wales and he demanded 50 p from us he was happy after we paid. All the best Warren Cheers 🍺
In 1999? That was only about a quids worth today, he mustn't have been that pissed in the first place
Hey now 50p back then was worth something! That's one way of sorting it out. Cheers, Warren :)
Sounded like he wanted to give you a message in passing..lol. most farmers I know would've been far more courteous but then it takes all types doesn't it. You can't plan for that bit Warren .. lol. You'll need to go back there and check his little patch of turf is still in pristine condition. Sometimes it's great to just wing it for a camp but mostly it is prudent to plan ahead as you do. Years ago we'd pull up stumps and set up whenever or wherever we felt like it but times have changed. Looking forward to seeing your new adventures mate. Bushyboy Oz.
He was just very brief and let me be which I was pleased about. I was quick to pack up after that and - of course - left no trace. Cheers, Warren :)
@@Linleys as you always do
@@ewengillies9826 What do you think about the "bot" comment more recently to your comment? The "bot" makes a fair point but poorly. At least it gained me a watch and engagement value.
good vid on channel keep up the good travel vlogs thanks lee
Cheers Lee, thank you for following along. Warren :)
It’s like he just doesn’t want people on his land that’s why did not talk to you my land get off have come a gross a few in my time thy have blocked public paths as well when have the right of way
It was hard to work out what he was thinking really. I shouldn't have been there of course but meant no harm and certainly caused no harm at all. Some farmers do indeed try and close off footpaths and gates. I have found that. Cheers, Warren :)
No harm done, no trace left, and you were very gracious with the farmer. He didn't leave room for you to talk in fairness. Lovely camp Warren!
No harm done at all, true, but it reminds us of clearing away from a pitch really early. I do usually but unfortunately not this time. I made sure no trace was left of me being there. Cheers, Warren :)
Hi Warren and yes it was so good to meet you at Barrow hill beer festival and what a great day it was .Days like that are always memorable ones and look forward to our paths crossing another day….. thanks Pat
May be at the Norfolk Arms, on the fells in the lovely Peak District or perhaps next year at the beer festival again. I look forward to it :) Cheers, Warren
@@Linleys 🍺🍺
My favourite part of this video is Barber's chime whistle.
Yeah, such a great sound. Cheers, Warren :)
There were some dark ales in there! Just your thing. Good to see Pat pop up in there too.
Oh yes indeed, very many lovely ales! Cheers, Warren :)
Well what a place Warren it looked absolutely brilliant. Trains beer food and music what could be better so thanks for showing me around and I shall put it in the diary for next year. Easy to get to too from Leicester on the train. ATB and cheers 🍻👍
That was a fantastic combination and an all-round great day :) Cheers, Warren
Being a beer festival Roundhouse Halt could've been renamed Roundhouse Malt. Apart from Pat I was expecting you to come up with Robin Hood at Sherwood Forest. Good day out mate. Bushyboy Oz.
You are so right, all so good. Cheers :) Warren
That looked fun!
I had no idea that it was going to be that much fun. Some excellent ales too! Cheers, Warren :)
Cracking video, really pleased you got to meet Pat, he really is a legend. All the best!!
I was so lucky to meet Pat as well. It made an excellent day very special indeed. Cheers, Warren :)
good vid out and about at train and beer thing keep up the good vid you do on channel thanks lee
That was such a great place. I plan to go back next year! Cheers, Warren :)
Great Video Warren , Don't suppose you have a history in Electronics Warren ,LOL . Regards David
I have "played around" with electronics since the 70's. Learnt things as I went along until more formaly doing an A/O level in it at 6th form. Then a little more at college. I then taught GCSE Electronics for many years. Since then I have enjoyed using electronics in projects and of course the Linleys Garden Railway. Always interested in learning - and indeed that will feature in a video soon (month or so....). Cheers, Warren
Thanks for another video Warren. I'm posting from a new channel. Cheers Evan (Evo) from OZ.
Ahh yes, welcome! And all the best with your new channel. I'm not big in to boats but you cover other topics too I see, I'm following along. Keep up the good work there! Cheers, Warren
@@Linleys Thanks Warren. I'm not into trains TBH, but i really enjoy your railway videos. So there you go. Anything can happen. All the Best Evo.
Not only do we have Linleys custard but now we've got Linleys spaghetti. Better you than me Warren .. lol. Bushyboy Oz.
When I pulled all that loose cabling out from the box I did wonder if I would work out what wire went where but I had put tags on most of the bundles so it was easy really. No custard this time :) Cheers, Warren
i think you should say X Zero 1 . X Zero 2 etc
That's a good point Keith, thank you. Earlier on in my videos I didn't use the block section codes at all, then I did one including zeros and that sounded very pedantic. I swapped to making it sound okay but I could just say X1 and X2 as the zero is only relevant for listing when there are more than 10 in an area. Cheers, Warren :)
good vid nice work on layout thanks lee
Thanks Lee, I do enjoy the electronics aspects of my railway. Cheers, Warren :)
Thank you for the video, Sir! My family has lived there since the 14th century. My Great grandfather left Palizzi in 1905 . Unfortunately he never returned. I hope to visit one day.
Wow amazing! Such a lot of family history there. And a lovely place. I hope you do visit soon. Cheers, Warren :)
It would be great to see class 37's and class 46's at Victoria! Especially a class 46! That would be a miracle.
Agree with that! Some real character. Cheers, Warren :)
How was the metal frame track way constructed?
I use 25mm angle iron steel. Take a look at some of the older videos in my playlists and you will see some of the original construction. Cheers, Warren :)
Gracias el Camden es lo mejor de Londres ,estuve en marzo 2023 y lo disfruté mucho, gracias, desde Mar del Plata Argentina un abrazo
(English translation of original message = "Thank you, Camden is the best in London, I was there in March 2023 and I enjoyed it very much, thank you, from Mar del Plata Argentina a hug") I agree, Camden is a lovely place, lots to see and enjoy. Cheers, Warren :)
How do you find the connections? Do you suffer any power problems?
What connections do you mean? The power supply is fine from the control modules I build. W :)
You're so organised, Warren, I'm in awe! absolutely loved this video, thank you! 😃
Hey Sam, it was a good trip for sure. Some complex planning to get each day to run in to eachother smoothly. Cheers, Warren :)
Hey Warren another great video 👌👌 is the spot you bivi at the spot with the guest book ?
Yep, that's the exact spot. I avoided mentioning that in my video to avoid over exposure etc. Cheers, Warren :)
Good video Warren. Nice pint in the pub to start and Hobgoblin. The tarp was needed. Keep having fun👍
I usually start with a #turbopint :) And yep, lucky I had the tarp. It would have been grim cooking and sorting out in the rain. Cheers, Warren :)
